Hi my name is Wally ,
I'm from Melbourne, Australia & welcome to my woodworking channel .
I have a full time job in manufacturing & in my spare time I enjoy making projects; some small, some big.
Although my channel is mostly about woodworking , I also have a passion for landscape gardening , occasionally I may do a review/unboxing of related equipment ie... (woodworking tools)...( landscape/ gardening tools / sheds ...etc ).
I've been using both hand/power tools for over 35 years , I'm not a professional woodworker , but rather an enthusiast , with a real passion to learn/share my ideas & inspire others.
Thanks for watching my videos & subscribing .
Have a great day !

Giant Wood mallet !
G'day ,
I made this Giant Mallet... (aka Thor hammer )...using off/cut fence pickets..ie..cypress pine (handle) & merbau decking for the head .
Note ~ cypress being a more dense/heavier material than it's namesake radiate (soft) white pine .
There were a total of 13 pieces glued together for this build - including the small wedge that holds the mallet head firmly with the handle in such a way that it will never become loose or slide .
Overall , a fun project which will look great in any man cave , or simply add a pleasant atmosphere to one's workshop .

Step stool project
มุมมอง 5163 หลายเดือนก่อน
As my old step stool , lay gathering dust in the corner of the shed.... it was a constant reminder '' reminiscing'' about my teenage years ( woodwork class ) .....( circa 1981)... As mentioned in the opening video credits , I made my step stool ( replica version ) using both hand and power tools . Although a small project , yet one of my most satisfying .

Build the perfect Adirondack chair .

In this video I built a classic Adirondack Chair ! I used a combination of mostly Oregon timber - F17 Hardwood (seat slats)... & Cypress Pine (back slats)... Building this iconic chair was a lot of work ! - but the finished result was well worth it ! - what do you think ?

Folding Step Stool , DIY WoodWorking .
มุมมอง 24Kปีที่แล้ว
In this video I'll show you how to build a Folding Step Stool that is multifunctional , easy to store . When unfurled it can be used as a three -tier ladder , great for those hard to reach places in the kitchen . The core of the frame is held together using Mortise & Tenon joints , which were predominately cut by hand '' Japanese'' saw . This project has given me a lot of pride & satisfaction t...
DIY Whiskey Gift Box.
มุมมอง 17Kปีที่แล้ว
In this project I challenged myself to create something out of the ordinary... ''a gift box'' (Whiskey/Wine)...not just any gift box , but one with flair , & pleasing to the eye. The end result were a combination of light & dark coloured timbers (offcuts) laminated together to create a chess board/checkers theme. I must confess I used a lot of glue in the laminating process , but the end result...

How to make a bread box - with tambour roll top lid .
มุมมอง 111Kปีที่แล้ว
Using Hardwood off cuts , I thought they would be an excellent choice to make a breadbox,,, not just any breadbox , but one with a tambour roll top lid & drawer on top. After sketching several designs with various measurements I finally came up with one I liked. The Core of the build was Mortise & Tenon joints. The most critical component was the inside (2) side panels where the runner tracks f...
Cross Cut Sled For My Dewalt DWE 7485

I've had my Dewalt table saw for a year now , I've been told a cross cut sled is the best thing you can add on to the table saw , so I decided to make one. It's only a small sled , but perfect for my little projects. Let me know what you think bellow in the comments section (good or bad)...and I will get back to you , thanks

Great artwork, but the bottom four locks can't hold up to the weight of the bag.
I clicked on the like button and I wasn’t going to click the subscribe button because I didn’t want to add anymore channels to my list and then I heard that music and you had me Hook. Good video thanks and love that 🎼🎼
@@ronniekotler9265 Thank you Sir , I know the feeling (too many channels) .. much appreciated 🙏🏻
That is way too much wood for that little construction workbench table saw. You could’ve went with half inch plywood and that would’ve been perfect and then for your two stabilizers those are way too thick.. very nice job but way overkill
This is the second instance of a disparaging remark on my channel, the first being my dog kennel and now my sled build. I have chosen not to delete or block your comments but rather address them directly. I must emphasize that I am neither an expert woodworker nor a builder, but rather an individual learning from others and making an earnest effort. Creating quality content on my channel requires considerable time and effort, and I acknowledged from the outset that some viewers might offer negative feedback, potentially as a means of self-aggrandizement. My question to you, given your apparent expertise and skill set, is whether you would consider establishing your own woodworking channel, thereby allowing us to provide constructive criticism of your work? Regards, Wally

A straightforward no-nonsense DIY tutorial. Good visuals all round, with detailed measurements, if one cares to copy. Well done!

Great Video! 👍 I just have one question, what kind of pipe did you use?

я бы вход сделала с краю ,а не в центре,чтоб собака могла спрятаться от ветра !
Отличная идея! особенно если ветер и снег..... к счастью, у нас нет снега (в моем городе)... боковой забор и стена дома служат защитой от ветра!
Merry Christmas 2024 Wally and thanks for making my sander setup so easy. If I hadn’t found your video I’d still be trying to work what went where 😁. It would have been easier if Ryobi had included your TH-cam link, but it is what it is. Thank you again and I hope your Christmas has been as good as mine 😊 Cheers, Peter
Cheers ! Peter you're too kind !! I'm so happy this video was of help .... I only wish Ryobi would give me a commission hehehe ! Thanks Peter our Christmas was great with family.... Peter I'd like to wish you and your family a safe & happy new year for 2025 ~ best wishes Wally
It looks amazing! One question. Why in your profile pic you have brown mustache, and in the video it's white? I'm a new subscriber and I'm just wondering whats up haha. Answer only if you want, of course. Merry Christmas!

Absolutely beautiful workmanship here...however not very practical for SPEED CHESS!?🤔
Haha, you might be right about the speed chess! I’m thinking it’s more for leisurely play, though I guess it’s up to the player!
Greetings fae Scotland! Really enjoyed this video mate - I'm a complete beginner when it comes to woodworking so I think I'll try making a non-folding stepstool first (and I'll probably cheat and use dowel joints!), but still plenty of tips I picked up here. Plus, just a really pleasant video to watch even if I hadn't any intention of making one. Cheers!
Thanks for the nice compliment mate. . Dowell joints are perfect , I'm glad you enjoyed the video & tips , Cheers ~ Wally
Ive never seen the AEG brand of power tools. Looks like ridgid , a brand home Depot has in the USA. two questions... Do you have ridgid, now wondering if you have home Depot in your parts. God bless
Hi , correct , the Ridgid brand has been re-named AEG here in Australia & I'm more than happy with their products , we don't have a Home Depot , our biggest hardware chain is Bunnings.com.au , thanks for watching Casey 🙏
