Why I hate capsule wardrobes
มุมมอง 13Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Capsule wardrobes don't work for everyone, especially those of us who actually like fashion. In this vid I talk about why I think they're more anxiety-inducing than stress-relieving, why they end up lacking personality most times, and how I think they can ironically encourage maximalism while allowing you to "cosplay" minimalism. I also talk about getting use out of your entire closet year roun...

Wrong On Purpose: a study in juxtaposition
มุมมอง 7K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Juxtaposition in fashion When is an outfit with contrasting elements "uniquely balanced," and when is it just plain confusing? Contrast is an important part of creating visual balance: contrast in color, in value, in texture, in silhouettes, in masculinity/femininity the list goes on. But balancing those contrasting elements with uniformity elsewhere is arguably more important. In this video, I...
Avoiding Trends = Understyling

This video appeared on my feed and i clicked on it cause I felt I resonated with your vibe, and girl did i find a gem! Just to let you know the last bit made me subscribe where you where thanking your viewers it almost made my cry, felt so sincere! Exited to have found you and exited to check up your channel<3 keep it up girl we all out here supporting each others dreams<3 much love xoxo ps: loved your decor/reno tips 💕
I've ditched underwire bras and switched to Comfelie brand comfy wirefree bras. Just a suggestion. :)
Obsessed with two of your tips: 1) dress ugly when you feel ugly is a VIBE. 2) The create inspiration for what you’ll realistically wear is so true. I work from home and have no need to stunt the way I used to at school or the office. I am in my pjs and maybe it is time for me to get a y2k velvet sweatsuit instead of so many slacks and jeans
omg i love this!!! maybe you could add harry styles or one direction in another part?
Dear Phoebe, I discovered your channel today and I am enthusiastic ;-) I like your calm manner, your creativity as well as your very well taste and explanations - very inspiring - many thanks! <3

I’d love to see artists like grentperez, Lyn Lapid, Laufey, jazz-indie esque music! Also RnB/neo-soul like Victoria Monet, Cleo Sol, Snoh Aelegra, Jorja Smith, H.E.R, and others :)
Oh I loved this video!! I thought it was so accurate for the artists and albums. I'd love one for listeners of Hozier and Florence and the Machine
Pittsburgh mentioned 🫡💯
Please do a Michael Jackson one inspired 🙏❤️ loved it!
1. Hate blazers on me. Far too harsh for my body type. 2. I don’t have any little black dresses. Short length skirts and dresses don’t suit me and black is, again, too harsh for me. 3. I don’t wear leggings out of the house. 4. Love a turtle neck! But black is a no. 5. I do own a beautiful vintage black leather jacket but I don’t find myself drawn to put it on. 6. I have *huge* titties. I need and love a good nude under-wire bra. 7. I don’t own any pencil skirts but it is a nice silhouette on me. 8. No pleated skirts. I think it could work for me but the styling would have to be very specific.
I highly recommend boody bralettes. Super comfy and they are my go to
Maybe a vibe with like Kaytranada, jungle etc? Or one with erykah badu, lauryn hill like spiritual girl type of vibe
i love you! this popped up in my feed as i'm just starting with my first apartment. i think it's made me realize there's no need to "rush" the full look of an apartment...i'm excited for the journey!

Such an interesting and useful video! I used to work in the fashion industry and am now an interior designer. They’re so related to me 🙂 I think you have great taste. I 100% agree on the stainless steel. Wouldn’t use anything else… hate brass 🙈 that’s so over for me… Regarding the butcher block, I agree too, but I think lots of your images looked like plywood or solid wood… nice too but at least the solid wood would be more expensive. Here for more interior content! 😊
I'm gonna do an annoying sustainability plug (and prob many here agree): if you already have fake wood laminate in good shape, avoid ripping it all out. I almost bought a house. It had fake wood flooring that looked bad, but it was in good shape and it would be wasteful to rip it all up. I have to remind myself: be patient and be mindful of feeling like everything has to be a reflection of my style/aesthetic values. I can still be who I am with ugly fake wood floors 😆. Area rugs and furniture placement can do wonders. This kind of fits with the point about context.
@@BC-np8cb I totally agree!! I was kicking myself for not saying this when I was talking about working around certain features you don’t like. That includes all the things I claim to hate, even faux materials. 🌟
fyi most of your pics with 'vinyl' flooring are actually linoleum flooring and are not 'cheap' but a high quality sustainable floor covering alternative.
I'ld love the same exercise, but with masculine fashion too ❤ I think feminine fashion is considered more flexible, and it could be harder to someone imagine those rooms as outfits for males.
@@ZurditaDinamita Obsessed with this idea as I’ve been wanting to talk about menswear recently!!
Girl where did you get those bangle bracelets? If they’re thrifted, does anyone know where to thrift for something like that/ how to look or search for them? They‘re so cute!
@@cphr69 they are indeed thrifted 🥲 the search term I would use is “acrylic bangles” 🌟
@ oh, i thought that. thank you! ✨

Finally a fresh opinion from a interior Yotuber you're 100% right about laminate.

i love this concept !!
I don't know if pencil skirt is also a similar skirt but short. I wear that a lot on special occasions
Great and thoughtful points! Subscribed. I want to say about the "honest materials only" point though. I've been considering it a lot, I get that it's one of the principles of modernism and a lot of designers swear by it, so you hear it quite a bit. But I suspect there's a reason that wood imitation floors for example are so popular, and I don't think it is that people want to trick their neighbors into thinking they have hardwood floors (I assume most of us can tell the difference every time and thus we know that others can also). My guess is that people are psychologically so drawn to natural materials that a reasonably convincing fake will feel more comfortable than an "honestly artificial” material, even when we can tell that it’s fake. I look at the examples of such honestly artificial floors you posted and to be honest to me none of them look like something I’d rather have in my home than a high quality LVP. I don’t know of any studies covering surface materials, but I did hear of one about artificial plants, which might serve as a relevant comparison: there are psychological benefits to having plants indoors, something like reduced anxiety and increased well-being, and interestingly the benefits are the same for fake plants, even when we know they’re fake. If the same goes for imitation materials, I’m wondering if it makes sense to cross them out of the design repertoire?
Awesome, thoughtful video. Thanks for sharing.
Love your pants :)
What color are your walls?!
I really like your understanding on design, it feels a bit like the perspectives we find in art and not just the more traditional vision, your daring to step out of the box is very good, greetings from Mexico
