As someone who grew up in 2006 I was about 9 years old. Playing NFS most wanted and then seeing this l. I fell in love with this movie immediately and ended up becoming a real life street racer. And let me tell you, these movies were as accurate as ever when it comes to the race world. I mean everything, the girls, the drugs, the guns. The blood fueds running from cops. Etc. the thrill that is created in the movie when racing is the most accurate movie depiction of street racing ever. Now that im older I highly recommend to never ever street race as people do die, just like han. And things go bad often. I was caught doing 125 by CHP. That taught me. But this movie even till this day takes me right back to my old days in the car club. We had the fastest cars in town and we helped the community in volunteering ways. We stayed off main roads to avoid endangering the lives of others. And we always gave respect to other clubs. This movie may have influenced us to a degree but the street racing life has been around since the 1920s. Its just what we do lol. I even had a race that was almost identical to the one in the movie against the viper. I was sean in this scenario and the kid had a porche i had a 02 camaro stock. Not sure what he had but after stomping him the first time he said well I have my buddy in the car, my TC was off and my top was down. I said. Have your friend get in my car, pit your top up and turn on your traction control. We raced again. It was no different easy dubs. But he sped off reaching nearly 140 almost killed himself. either way. Dont do this stuff kids. Its not worth it. Just watch the movies go to race tracks. Drift tracks etc. NEVER STREET RACE. They throw the book at you now of days.

In South Africa Tokyo Drift had us in a chokehold. I watched that bootleg DVD every Saturday. Our TV Stations played it as a blockbuster rerun. The Tokyo Drift song by Teriyaki Boyz was my ringtone. There wasn't much of social media back then so not a lot was documented. I'm glad that it's getting the recognition it deserves. It is the best Fast and the Furious movie ever made.

I mean, Listen, I want them to be action movies; but I also want some credible stuff about cars, some real tuning, some racing sprayed around the movie. Not just a drag race between police chargers only to say, “look we have racing in here”. Don’t want no superhero movie. There are a tons of other grounded action plots that you can develop inserting some cool cars and racing in it. Leave the MCU to their demise.

We would’ve had good character development and backstories if they continued Down the path of the first 3 movies. But they choose to be unoriginal and greedy. So now someone will have to rebuilt it sooner or later, a great movie will come out, shutting (new)vin diesel (not avengers Vin) mouth.
