Tried a bunch of different stuff to find the fish, but we soon found they were right under our feet. Vertical jigging got us on a bunch of cool species as well as some fish to fry. HEY! I ended up doing more research on the weakfish I was catching in this video and I figured it was worth sharing. Although we were technically correct in calling these weakfish, they are not the same species that ...

It’s really beautiful to see the fish in the photo tank!
I agree, photo tanks make a world of a difference for viewing small fish.
More peacocks closer to Miami. Not sure how deep you guys are
So I've heard, I would like to head all the way over some time for some fishing. Fortunately, we've been able to find peas that are fairly local.
Heading down that way from Louisiana, would you care to send me a pin where I can fish off the dirt roads? I fished tamiami but off that crazy hwy and I'll have elderly dad with me so I want to get off the road. Thanks for any help
I hope you will be understanding of the fact that I do not share any pinned locations. However, I can try to help the best I can without sharing a specific location. Many dirt road spots we found had an open area for fishing access. These were secondary roads off of Tamiami and generally at culverts or bridges where water could pass under the road. Other spots with good access are the boat ramps on I-75. I don't know how familiar you already are with these but they are generally safer to fish since your back is to a parking lot rather than moving traffic.
Unreal video! Love the comments! Let’s keep it rolling!
Thanks man, I’m certain it will keep rolling.
Oh captain, my captain 🫡
Sick vid gav man! would definitely go the extra mile for miles too.
Thanks dude! It seems many would do the same.
How much snook could a snook snook snook if a snook could snook snook?
My brain is hurting, but maybe seven snook idk.
Miles looks like he really knows what he’s doing. I know a fisherman when I see one
Miles hooks those fish so good
Miles was dialed in
I love seeing men at work
Couldn’t agree more, they’re a fantastic Australian band.
@@TheGuglerl love the view (of miles ofc)
Can you and miles come talk about fish at my school?
I don’t know, we’re both pretty booked.
Miles can’t come within 500ft of a school unfortunately
7:24 i would've feed the invasive species to the gator. i don't put invasive fish back into the water.
Due to current state law, I would have to advise against that.
Good vid kid . .. ..👍
Thank you 👍
This video made me feel tingly inside!
I know you were waiting for me to catch a big fish

That Jack was nice! how heavy is your line and what reel are you using?
Agreed, thank you! I was using a Diawa BG 2500 spooled with 10lb braid and 20lb mono leader.

Try off deep woods dry works wonders for me
I've tried it before, might have to try it again. I appreciate the suggestion!
Definitely gonna try out the size 26 setup. My girlfriend and I hardly got to utilize our licenses last year, but this really opened me up to what's possible. We've done macroinvertebrate collection quite a bit, and we may get the rare fish occasionally in the kick seine, but for the most part, I'm always left wondering what's around us. My stream ecology class did electofishing with our DNR, so we got to see a lot of what was native, but I don't have the trained eye to identify from afar, so this is an awesome way to start getting more proficient, while also having a chill time on the creek. Thanks for sharing man.
That's great to hear man, definitely try out the micro fishing. It is a great way to familiarize yourself with the smaller natives that most people (perhaps even most fishermen) just know as minnows/baitfish. Hope you get the most out of your license this year and thank you for the comment!
Gotta get a thermacell for the bugs brotha
I will have to look into that, thankfully I haven't found the bugs to be too bad right now during the winter/dry season, but sometimes they are a pain. Thank you for the suggestion!
Alright I'm coming down to south Florida tomorrow for 5 days. I'll be turkey hunting in big cypress but I'm really hoping to find a few canals or culverts to fish exactly like this. No idea where to go exactly but I'm sure there's a million little spots full of fish. Peacock bass is my target
Awesome, Big Cypress is a beautiful place and its been pretty nice down here. You shouldn't have a hard time finding spots to fish, keep an eye on Maps/Google Earth, hope your outings are successful.
The most slabbadocious day of fishing I’ve ever experienced captured in 4k by the Thin White Duke of Fishing himself. What a vid bro

No snags, just happy hooksets.
Fisher, hardly know her
Yeah, who's she?
Congrats on a nice pike, but man those two crappies are slabs.
Thank you! It was great to get on those big ones.
Ever see any Pacu?
I haven’t seen any around here, but that would be a crazy find!
Sometimes its crappie fishing, and other times its crappy fishing
That's it, that's the best one lol.
You already know I’m gonna be first
Bro you were there before I even knew it was officially up.
Curse you Joseph manni **in dr duffenshmirtz voice**
Man u guys just loòoooved that snag..jyst cant leave it alone... well done with the catching...
Haha thanks, though I don't think it loved us back.
That's the way snags.. show their love..don't wanna let you go...
That would make sense 😂
Thats what its all about. A couple of mates enjoying a days fishing. Best wishes from the uk.
Certainly! I appreciate it, take care.
Brother that first hook is waaaay too fucking big. Holy shit! Use inline or egg sinkers and you'll snag alot less. The hair rigs are easy to tie but i buy them pre tied at a local shop from korda and theyre like $4 each and it saves a lot of time. Using a cheap packbait of oatmeal and corn around the sinker will up your catch. Good luck
I found out pretty quick that I should have been using round weights, especially in those rocks, but it never occurred to me that my hooks were way to big. I honestly don't like using bigger gear than I have to, so could you tell me what size you normally use? Thanks for the comment.
@GavinGalka between size 2 and 6. It seems crazy but little baitholder hooks, with a wide gape and short shank work best. Catch em up bro
Good to know man, I really appreciate it!
Just couldn't get enough of decorating that snag.with all kinds of gewellary ..but they caught in the end...came out triumphant..
that fish was hugeeee! excellent catch 🤓
Thank you ☝️🤓
learn how to tie the "hair rig" - you will catch many more. They hook themselves easier but if you hook one bigger than 8lb, you will want to make sure those rods are fairly secure. another supermarket bait that works is cheddar cheese
I've heard and read of hair rigs before but haven't gotten around to using them. From what I understand though, they are one of the best methods for carp. Thanks for the tips, I'll have to give cheese a try and look into some better rod holders for when I'm chasing big carp.
Where’s the 50lb carp?????

@@stasureisner7529 Eventually I'll catch something big.
Great Perch fishing brother! 🤘
Thanks man, I appreciate it!
Why don’t you catch a monster for once
Fishing is not just about the size of the catch. It's about enjoying the experience and appreciating the connection with nature. Every fish, big or small, has its own story. Let's focus on the joy of fishing rather than just the size of the catch
Hey there! Catching a monster fish sounds like an exciting challenge! I'd always be up for the thrill of the hunt. Planning to hit the waters soon and hoping to reel in a real giant. Any tips or suggestions for where I should try my luck? 🎣 #MonsterFishQuest
Beauty berry plants, the leaves are great for mosquitoes. The berries have an astringent smell. I have a large river in my backyard and mosquitoes are everywhere. Hope this helps you out.
Great to know, I’ve seen those around and they are definitely true to their name, but didn’t know they were a natural mosquito repellent. I’ll have to try using it sometime, thanks for the helpful tip!
Dude love the choice of lure
Can’t go wrong with slam shady
what rod are you using?
That was a 7’6” med-light, extra fast action G-Loomis E6X Inshore.

Thanks, I appreciate that.
This vid is boring ass hell

Where's this at. Coming to Naples this weekend
Man, I just left Naples and flew up to Michigan. Now I don't post exact fishing spots but these are open areas along the two main highways that run through south Florida and that second spot is just one of the many public boat ramps along I-75. Definitely map out some canals around where you're staying with google earth, places with high flow will generally have the best fishing. Also, don't overlook spots to do some wade fishing inshore. My buddies and I have been able to find some good speckled trout so far this winter. Tight lines!
What lure were you using? It seems you guys worked that lure more like a jerkbait than a spoon that is typically jerked up and down vertically, am I right?
We used a few different lures in this video, but if your asking about the one in the video’s thumbnail, that would be a Got-Cha Jig Fish. For the mackerel we mostly fished it with a straight retrieve, but sometimes gave it some twitches and fished it like a jerkbait.
nice one !
Thank ya!
yes sirrrrrr
Looks like you gentlemen had a fantastic day in the boat! Great catch!!
We did indeed, thank you.
Let’s see some catch and cook. Nice job on the fish
Thanks, I definitely plan on doing a catch and cook.

Great video. Ill be in Naples in February. I'm hoping to check a tarpon and an Oscar off my list.
Thanks, you should be in for a great time in Naples. Tarpon and Oscars are awesome fish. Keep in mind Oscar’s are very slimy but have serious spines on ‘em, just a word of warning. Good luck!
