GM, great update! What are u using to track your expenses? just your statements?
Yes! Just manually going through my transaction history and writing it all down on paper actually. Probably not the best system!!
Congrats!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!!
💙💙
Happy holidays, budget pals! How was your first home buying experience?
Congratulations on the new home!!
@ thank you! So excited/anxious :)
Hi, i hope yall had a wonderful thanksgiving, thanks for sharing! congrats on ur home offer!
Thank you! Can’t wait to update more next month with new numbers. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving too! 🤎
You're doing a great job on your budget! Congrats on your new home too! 🏡
Thank you!! Next month should get exciting, budget-wise 😬 Hope you had a lovely holiday 🤎
Happy Thanksgiving to u and your family too! Nice to see u back! :)
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! All the best to you and your family ❤
Ma'am could you tell me how to become a product analyst.
Thank you so much for making this video! Your story sounds very similar to mine. I've jumped around different industries, I'm making a career transition, and my partner and I want to move to NYC! So your video is very insightful and inspiring!
I would pay off the debt and keep saving. Put yourself in the best financial situation you can before you buy. No rush. Like you said you are living below your means.
I think that’s the best plan especially with mortgage rates going back up again!
You have the freedom of being able to wait and jump on a good house deal if you see it. But with other current financial goals it’s probably best to focus on having the ability to pay off that debt while you can. A house is likely to bring so many expenses and wanting to decorate etc. that you need to have the savings to back that up and also the mindset to not go back into debt to do it. There’s no rush, particularly if your rent cost is so much lower than housing costs. You can get that last bit of credit card debt gone soon and bulk up the savings. You can never have too much saved for a home!
Yes, debt payoff is priority #1! It’s hard to stay patient with house hunting but it’s better to be prepared than rush in, especially with where the housing market is at right now!
We bought our house at 5.9% apr however the mortgage payment was lower than our rent payment. We bought a house we liked (zoned to a good elementary, pretty views of mountains, rural) and $70k less than our max approved budget. If mortgage rates drop we can always refinance. I focused getting into the right house at a payment that made sense for our budget. Be honest about whether or not you and your spouse can handle a home with house repairs. We spent 18 months renovating our 1920’s home and now we adore our home but it was a lot of stress!
I love historic homes but we are definitely not very handy so I have to be realistic for sure! That sounds amazing with pretty views and good schools combined. I think the key for us is to be patient and thing will eventually figure themselves out 🤞🏼 and just keep paying off debt in the meantime!
Hi Welcome back! My kids like playing on the classic nintendo they came out w a few years ago, has lots of old games on it lol. Im happy to hear your husband is back to work. Feds will cut rates more this year..hopefully you can have better luck buying a house in the new year. Great progress on the debt :)
My kids love old school Nintendo too :) I really hope the rates do go back down! Fingers crossed… it’s so hard to wait in the meantime but we’ll get there when the time is right :) Thanks for your comment and for watching!
Nice to see u back! :)
Thank you! Glad to be back ❤
@@OrdinaryEverydays it's much harder now a days for young couples to buy a house. Also, there are so many other costs to maintaining a house too. If it's stressful now just talking about it then don't do it. Saving more money and putting more away or investing some of it will help ease your mind. You are budgeting very well so just continue to do what u are doing. I think some people can still achieve financial freedom without purchasing a home. Just continue to live within your means. Live simply, laugh lots and love more. Take care!💜
Happy fall y’all 🥰 how do you make big financial decisions??
its so prettyyyy, what app did you use?
I use Zinnia! :)
So far....yawn
Hows the budgeting going 👋
Hi!! I stumbled accross this older video and just wanted to ask if there is a benefit/reason to leave the Amex/CC/school debt if there is interest on it vs just paying it off from savings or something since usually CC are about 20%? I am def still learning but I can hear like Ramsey yelling about the car payments and CC debt while you have so many great assets to pull from. Thank you to anyone that chimes in! :) Thank you for posting about your budget and being trasparent! I also echo others about the groceries too btw: Trader Joes, Walmart (for basics), and Safeway/Raleys/Fred Myers and shop their deals/coupons. I used to shop Costco but I heard it's mostly only worth it if you have a cash-back CC with them. I know families that get $100s back each year from gas, groceries, bills using their Costco card.
Great job. Glad to have found your channel. My bag of chips clicked on your video. lol. Have a wonderful day and keep up the great work. April
darlin its impossible to see your numbers... i am up to 200 percent zoom and still the text is small :)
Great progress 🎉🎉🎉
Way to go 🎉that’s awesome progress and you deserve to be super proud! It’s hard to stick to a budget especially when things change like loss of job, medical bills come out of nowhere, etc. congrats 👏
Thank you!! It was challenging but worth it.
Hi hun good morning
Thanks for sharing your experience in the most sincere manner. You have quite an authentic character, and your job sounds quite fun and challenging! Great video. Cheers! ✌🏼🏅

Thank you so much! 🤗
Yay! So happy to see the upload & this amazing debt update, even thru the upload break!! So much progress 🥹 Hard won with challenges & glad you all are OK 💕 ☺️
Thank you!! Glad to see your comment! ☺️ it has definitely been a challenging year so it was very gratifying to see the progress 💜
I was just thinking about you the other day bc u hadnt posted in a while and i was wondering how yall were doing! Im happy to hear you got rid of one car loan, youre doing a great job, congrats!
Aw thanks for checking in!! I think the end of winter got to me 😂 I ran out of energy to post for a little while! Taking a break was good though, I’m inspired to make some more videos. Hopefully I can do more frequent check-ins too. Paying off the car felt amazing - one step at a time 💪🏼
Super congratulations on the progress and even more so with the challenges you faced. Motivationally, your current debt profile nust be rewarding as you can visibly see progress with every payment.
Thank you! It feels really good to see the results of a year of hard work!
Only been budgeting a month. Kinda crazy trying to learn.
It’s a lot but definitely worth it. I would recommend start off tracking your spending to see where you’re at - then you can plan where you need to be! Good luck 💪🏼
That's amazing progress and to do it on mostly one income while Lifing is amazing 🎉😊
💪🏼💜💜
You've done a great job staying focused on paying down your debt in one year! Congrats to u!🎉😀
Thank you!! Really happy with my progress and surprised it added up to that much! 💜
Nice to see u back! :)
Happy spring! It’s been a whole year since I started this channel - looking forward to the next one! 🌸 how are you doing on your financial goals?
You are swinging back n forth but making it on your salary. When your husband gets a paycheck coming in, consider setting aside a couple of months' of his income to use as catch up; and squeeking by on yours. Maybe you replentish the @$1500 of savings taken out this month. Maybe you aggressively attack his debt, finish paying off the car, or else wise attack debt. You've done some calculations on the kid's college funds, maybe you devote a paycheck or significant portion of one for some cash infusion to the college funds and more dollars of passive income there going forward.
When assessing monthly expenses and the budget during months with large unexpected expenses you dip into the emergency fund for - calculate 2 sets of numbers. Spending actuals against the regular budget versus spending actuals including the emergency fund/ savings items.
Check with your insurrance company. If we go to urgent care first and they send us off to ER, all we pay are the ER bills. The insurrance company has always paid for everything done at urgent care 100%. Further, urgent care can call ahead with thier findings and we get slotted in quicker at most ER's.
Nice breakdown, it’s hard sometimes to limit our spending for gifts, maybe instead of trying to adjust to a budget you keep going over why not put an amount that looks more like what you do spend. When the time comes you planned for it. But if it puts you over budget to plan it that high then of course you’ll need to tighten those purse strings. Thank you for sharing. I always either forget gifts or underestimate too 😅😅😅
What type of courses did you take to build your skills for the PA role?
Replying late, sorry! Basically, I began learning on the job. After getting my BA in Econ, I started working various office jobs and started picking up analytical skills little by little through my work. If you want to add some courses to your resume ahead of time, I recommend getting certified in Tableau and learning SQL. For more advanced work you could also specialize in machine learning and do some classes in Python. You can build a portfolio of data visualizations or analyses and join networking events for data science/analytics to learn more and make connections. Good luck!
It sounds like gift giving might be your love language? Maybe setting aside exact numbers for them will help (each sibling gets $50 max or whatever).
It might be! You’re totally right. I try to but always get carried away in the moment!
It's nice that u treat your siblings but it can be stressful to with expectations. Maybe next time u can set a limit like $50 or $60 for each sibling! I try to keep things simple and be creative with family. It's the thought that counts.💜
I do need to be more firm with myself and get more creative! Thanks for watching ❤️
I think if u pulled cash for your variable expenses and only had a finite amount it would help u stop overspending bc u cant lol. Using a cc where u say ill pay it later def gets me in trouble lol.
I think you’re right! 😩 I wonder if I put my variable expense budget in a separate account and only used that card to swipe… that might work and I wouldn’t be scared of accidentally spending fixed expense money. I kind of love that idea actually ❤️ thank you for watching!!
What are your worst spending habits??
Probably my worst spending habits in the past was feeling obligated to treat family members when we travelled to visit them. Now I set limits and it's a lot better! :)
@@sue1703 that is very relatable!
Just starting journey and I’m just glad that Jan is finally over. Good luck on the interview!
Thanks for watching! And ME TOO oh my goodness. Hopefully we don’t have another month like that anytime soon!
Hi! Great bwm. Hope your month is going well 😊
Thank you! You too ❤️
We all always wish we could send more to debt, but if you are making progress, you are doing awesome! I love that you’re realistic about the grocery budget 🙌🏼
Thanks! Slow and steady… 😄
I like your Lindt container! ❤One of my favorite treats. :)
Happy Valentine’s ❤️ I love them too 🍫
You are doing a great job on your budget! Your husband will find the right job. Things will work out for u and your family. Take care!💜
