In this video I switch my attention to the rear under seat area. First I have to remove the sound deadening material to enable me to see the various spot welds that need to be removed to gain access. Now that the main section of the inner rocker is welded in I need to fabricate the end cap. This is a pretty easy thing to make using craft paper. if you mess up cut another piece until you get it right, it takes any guess work out of it.

In this video I finally weld in the inner rocker repair panel that I've been fabricating. Overall it wasn't too bad, except for a few adjustments on the way it went well. This now gives me a solid reference point to continue on repairing the area before fitting the new floor pans.

I decided to make a pair of cover plates to protect the main mounting bolt on the front subframe. As you can see in the video, if left unattended it can lead to severe bolt corrosion. This is not only a pain to repair if they snap, but its also a safety concern. There's no way to know the condition without removing them. There's also a plastic cover that is still available from Mercedes. Howeve...

Inner rockers are not available, so that means making your own. It's not a complex piece to make. The only difficult bit is making the bend as it's a very strong piece.
