This game is magic in a cartridge, same with Ocarina, Diddy Kong Racing…I’m currently replaying this game again now, can never tire of it! The level of charm is through the roof and the game is designed really well, Banjo Tooie is great too but I feel it was a little too ambitious and feels a little too big at times but I still think it’s a fantastic game.

Simple... they just don't make games THAT good anymore. Sure graphical fidelity is better than ever, and the storytelling has matured a great deal... but the whimsical creativity of this game, the comedic writing and situations, the characters' personalities, the ART STYLE? All of that is lost with gamers of today. There will never be another Banjo Kazooey... but there doesn't need to be. Why try to copy perfection? Oh, wait... they did try, didn't they... well, bless there hearts TOOIE. Anyway... Long live physical media!

Yooka Laylee is the most disappointing game ever. I played Banjo after Yooka to see if it was nostalgia, and no, its not. Its a way better game in almost every way possible. Gave playtonic millions to produce that bullshit, so disappointing.

Shockingly insightful analysis! Especially true that a developer’s passion plays a big part in shaping a game’s legacy as perceived by current and future audiences. This is why a game like Celeste, A Hat in Time, or Hi Fi Rush can be an instant classic mere seconds into the game-the love for the medium is apparent in every polygon, pixel, and sound. Love to see more!

What didn't you like about Tooie?

I've spent many hours replaying Link to the Past on the SNES and Gameboy versions. I've got the map laid out by memory of where to find every item, how to break the sequencing and some minor glitches. Not good enough to speed run it, but good enough to get through it in about 5 or 6 hours if I want to spend a day.

The Xbox version in 4K on my Series X is my favorite game! However honestly I'd love to see how a remaster like what was done with Spyro; would do.

I don't know why you say Nintendo holds your hand on Kokiri forest. They really don't. All those manual-like dialogues are optional, and even BotW and TotK have them in their starting areas. No, really. Go back and talk to the old man and the Zonnai constructs. They also talk in a manual-like manner outside of story revelant dialogue. Not to mention Kokiri Forest is an open area for the most part. You can even try to go all the way to the Forest Meadow before you get the sword and shield if you're up for it. I think you dropped the ball on that one.

I was beginning high school when it came out. I was suddenly more into girls than video games. I had a n64, but never got my own copy of the game. My friend had it. I played most of the first parts and remember enjoying it as I had been a bit of a zelda fan playing all the games before it. But I didn't finish it. Somehow I ended up with my friend's copy. I think I gave it back then he gave it back to me again some years later. Then, around 2009ish, I sat down on my pc and did a 100% run on an emulator, with slightly boosted graphics. Zelda has been there since my childhood in the 80's. It's weird growing up with a game your entire life. Yeah, there's Mario, but it's story is shallow in comparison. Last time I booted up Ocarina, my friends savefile and mine were still on the cart, untouched since high school/college.

Hands down the greatest games ever made. Mario 64, Goldeneye, Ocarina of Time. The Holy Trilogy.

Love your voice and you made a great video but I really don't like "the sprites" that pop in to give commentary.

OoT/MM are the gold standard. Nu-Zelda is trash: no real dungeons, not real Zelda.

Ocarina of time is the best game of all time, period

really loving this channel so far, i like the gimmick ive been just binging some of the videos out of boredom while doing some schoolwork i will admit i think i prefer the sprites being in the top corners, they take up a bit too much space in the later videos i LOVE their dialogue though, you and the angel sprite bounce off of each other well and i especially like it when you use the devil sprite to end sections or bring up counterpoints

I love this video. It's clear you are actually struggling to understand something. It's a good question, I love Ocarina of Time, I am in a monogamous marriage with that game. So it's something I too, think about often. After playing BOTW I would go into OOT and would instinctively think of climbing to solve puzzles, before remembering I couldn't.

I really think you've got a good video here, and you have a good speaking tone that feels engaging and like you know how to properly convey your meaning, but those commentary guys really do kinda take me out of it whenever they chime in. From what I can see this seems to be your channel gimmick, so I understand why you'd be reluctant to yknow, remove that or something, but I will say that perhaps the concept needs to be reworked a bit to feel more like casual interjections and feel a bit less like distractions. Interested in what you've got going on here, keep it up.
