Mario 64 is the Toy Story of video games. Broke the mold into 3D and did it in such spectacular fashion that everybody has been trying to recreate that magic since. Still as good today as it was in the mid 90s.
This video is EXTREMELY underrated. I hope every gamer on the planet sees this. While none of this is new to me persay, it was extremely well organized and put all the pieces together in a way that was very eye-opening. Being born in 91, I could completely relate.
@BiffaTheSprites ha, that would be an interesting question to try to answer lolol. And I'm glad you appreciated it, but seriously, thank YOU. it was an amazing eye-opening video. It's sad to say that the last game like mario 64 is either over 20 years old, or made by Nintendo (Zelda lol) kinda sad now that i think about it
@BiffaTheSprites my hot take? do one focusing on how Nintendo is (basically) the only company thats capable of making games that still hit like that, and cross it with the fact that it's simultaneously the "weakest" console avaliable. it shows that big beefy specs arnt the relevant thing. The easiest way would be to use Zelda as an example i think. something i thought of after watching your video xD
I agree. Coming out of the pipe and staring at the world laid out, although small and baron by today's standards , was unbelievable. The weight and control over Mario was stupidly good for the time.
I love super Mario 64, which people consider weird because I played it very late (Wii) and by then it was starting to feel quite dated, at least compared to other games. There’s something so charming about this game and I think you summed it up well. This video is great, especially the humour :)
Nintendo games nowadays are just like Xbox games but with shit graphics. The Wii was the last time, in my exalted opinion, that Nintendo felt any different from the other two consoles. I wouldn't be surprised if consoles begin to die out entirely anyway once Windows 12 comes out with its "Gaming Edition", as there will be no reason to own a console unless for some reason you want to play the new Marios - which are kinda shit nowadays anyway because they're not as responsive or precise as they used to be. Soon, the remaining exclusives will be hunted down and ported. The gaming industry will be reorganised into the first PC gaming empire - for a fun and immersive experience.
Idk Mario odyssey was very innovative and the controls felt very responsive and in some ways better than Mario 64 the only problem I had with the game is that it was kind of short.
Love god and love all people. 😊Believe in the gospel Jesus Christ for Jesus Christ shed his blood and died for the sins of the world and he was buried and rose again from the dead three days later. For Jesus Christ God almighty and the flesh and if you believe in the gospel you are spiritually reborn into the family of God.
If Super Mario 64 was so good, then why wasn't there a Super Mario 65? 🤔
😂
"there was a person who legitimately thought Super Mario 65 would come out.
...he ate glue"
Super Mario 64 is because of the 64 Bits
Super Mario 4 to 63 sucked.
Because! How would you make the game 65 bits????????

A nice way of putting it.

I wonder how many gamers ARE on the planet? (Also, thank you. That was nice to read.)

Maybe I should do exactly the same video, but swap it out for Link and Hyrule Castle. Lol!

That's not a bad idea!
I agree, this game was a revolution at the time.

That is a great thumbnail
Thank you!
I mean Banjo & Kazooie is excellent, but I'd still pick Super Mario 64 over it.
That's the closest thing to "fightin' talk" we're likely to get around these parts!
The first game that got me hooked was Sonic the hedgehog 🦔
🦔
For me it was Spyro 🐉🐲
Great video format, loved it

Well, that escalated quickly!
