Welcome to my crappie fishing channel. Most of my videos contain larger-than-average crappie catches out of my slightly modified 10' Bass Raider boat. I'm based out of Oklahoma.
Catching SLAB CRAPPIE in June
All of these fish were caught using a 1/16 ounce sickle hook crappie jig with a crappie magnet trailer in the mermaid color.

Catching SPAWNING CRAPPIE in Mid April

Most of these crappie were caught on a silver/blue gulp minnow on a black and white jig head. As for the bass, all but one were caught on a Strike King 1.0 squarebill crankbait in the orange bream pattern. One was caught on a Gary Yamamoto blue/black senko. The water temp was in the 64 degree range and with a clarity of approximately 3 feet. #slabcrappie #crappiefishing #bassfishing

Decided to try bass and crappie fishing since the water temps were around 57 degrees. Found male crappie were the active feeders with the big females ignoring my jigs, and the female bass were active on squarebill crankbaits.

Not quite the two-pounder I was expecting, but not a bad way to end the day.

This was a tough day getting the fish to bite, as a cold front had come through the night before and the water temp was in the 46-degree range. For all the fish catches, there were twice that many or more that either chased the jig and never committed to it, or just ignored it altogether. Sorry for the bad sound quality.

Yes. Unfortunately, on this day, I forgot my screen shade, so it wasn't as easy.

It definitely has some slabs in it. They are quite picky this year but then again, the water clarity is much better than I've ever seen before.

That first slabside was definitely a nice crappie…!!! I try to do the same thing this time of year, fishing for 3-6 pound largemouth bass on their nest…!!!

I had 112 last year. Tougher this year, as the water clarity is much better. They follow the bait and turn away much more often now.

Nice Slabs!! But,, I lose interest when you don't give us WHERE, at least what state? Size limits? Creal limits? How'bout a Shot on fish finder & or live scope? Whats down there, attracting those crappies to be so close to shore? I see that you know how to catch them,,,, but I want to learn. :<(
Sorry for the late reply. I fish in Oklahoma on a catch and release only lake. I'm usually fishing around artificial structures or brush piles, but often just over open water. I'll work on more livescope shots. Thanks for the feedback.

Wow some those were some nice fish right there! I have seen a lot of big crappies and Im gunna guess your scale might be a touch off. A few of those fish definitely looked over 2lbs!

I love they way you have your boat setup. I have a similar setup and I would advise you to get a foot switch for your front trolling more. It makes life much easier. All you have to do is bump instead of constantly having to twist the handle. It's the best $25 I have spent on my small boat. Great video.
I know exactly what switch you recommend and I've thought about it. However, I'm considering either AUTOBOAT GPS PRO ANCHOR SYSTEM or a new trolling motor with spot-lock as I often fish offshore in the wind, and I really want to be able to just anchor down and stay on a spot. Thanks for the advice and for watching.
