i think your review was pretty much spot on and agree with your conclusion, (although i cant express the flavours as well as yourself lol). upto a few years ago i was never without a bottle of the 15 or 18, but after the 'old' 15 stopped, and the cost of the 18 ramped up by a ridiculous amount in just a few years i decided to vote with my feet and stopped buying glendronach on principle. i have just checked back on some of my old MoM bills and bought the allardice in feb 2020 for £83.29 (it's now £174.95), so i consider more than doubling in price in 4 years a real con, when there's so many other great sherry bombs out there to try at half the price, although it is a fantastic scotch i agree. congrats on the million, and keep up the good work.

Great review! I looked on Old Perth’s website and they say it’s matured in palo cortado casks with nothing about a finish. Maybe it’s full maturation?

For a strong peat on the palate = Ardbeg 10 but for complexity and delicate flavour, Ledaig 10 anytime !

Great head to head of two great whiskies. They are hard to find in the great white north but they are fantastic.

Springbank 10 is amazing, but Hazelburn 10 gets the edge for me. It’s probably the best summer dram on the market.

Two of my favorite 10s. One day I prefer one, another day the other. Love them both equally. Fun review!

Great fun video Alan !! Some of your choices were dead ringers (Edradour, Bunna 12) but chuffed to see the Arran 18 there. Hopefully it’ll make a come back, although the 17 is filling the gap . I’d have squeezed Lagg into my lowlands choice, as it’s south of the highland boundary fault 😀. Quality for age is outstanding and I think in years to come it’ll be recognised as a star whisky! Just back from a trip to Arran with guys who got together through you, so big thanks fella for bringing folk together 👏👏👏

Thank you Alan! I don't think you could've picked a better selection of quality, price relevant whiskies from the different areas. Yes, with any short list, you're going to have to leave some out. Personally, I'm in total agreement with the Bunna Cask 12yo 2022. If sherried is your thing, what a cracker that iteration was.

So good to see the Edradour there, they are just outstanding, if I could only pick one it would be an Edradour.

Interesting selection, Alan. Regarding the Lowlands you selection is just as extended as mine 😂. My choice would be less sherried than yours and I'm going to Daftmill. Speyside: decent choice of the distillery. Might be my choice as well. Islands: none on my shelf, but would go to an IB HP (have tasted a stunning SMWS). Highland: difficult choice. Most likely a Ben Nevis or peated Loch Lomod for me. Islay: Staoisha for me (cask strength 2nd fill bourbon of course) Campbeltown: darn, that's difficult. Bourbon matured for sure. All three distilleries produce great stuff. Slàinte mhath

Wow what a great selection, I can't find a single one of them here in NC, USA, As much as I love the sherried whiskeys, I would need something peated once in a while so I would have traded the Bunna, for the Uigeadail. I think Ugi would be in my top 5 if I had to pick only 1 whiskey for the rest of my life.
