Congratulations on reaching 1 million views, Alan. It reflects the huge effort you have put into making this channel so successful, and by sharing so very many of your whiskies with us all. Many thanks and all the best for your future success and enjoyment. I too like the stave a lot--nice work Mark Slinger. Having it on the bar is a very nice addition.
Congratulations Alan 1 million! "The Whisky friend" is just that. A friend to help advise..no lecturing here. Would love you to do more blind tasting of vertical years. Love this channel.
i think your review was pretty much spot on and agree with your conclusion, (although i cant express the flavours as well as yourself lol). upto a few years ago i was never without a bottle of the 15 or 18, but after the 'old' 15 stopped, and the cost of the 18 ramped up by a ridiculous amount in just a few years i decided to vote with my feet and stopped buying glendronach on principle. i have just checked back on some of my old MoM bills and bought the allardice in feb 2020 for £83.29 (it's now £174.95), so i consider more than doubling in price in 4 years a real con, when there's so many other great sherry bombs out there to try at half the price, although it is a fantastic scotch i agree. congrats on the million, and keep up the good work.
Pretty much the same for me. I used to buy the 18 at £80 or so, the 15 at £60 to £65. I still have a couple of bottles left, but now I either buy GA or indi bottlings for my sherried whisky kick!
@@LeighW1973 i managed to get hold of 4 bottles of the old 15 in 2015 just before it was discontinued, and kept one bottle till 6 months ago which i drank and enjoyed. The 'new' revival aint a patch for reasons we all know, but i suppose if i'd never tasted the old, it would stand up on it's own well enough, but as mentioned i don't like the way glendronach have acted re: pricing so don't support them anymore. GL
Good battle Alan, it’s hard to believe that my first bottle of Glendronach 18 cost me less than €80 and the 15 less than €50 and nowadays?. Slàinte Alan. PS , love the stave.
Congratulation with the massive 1 mil views. How is the Glenallachie 18 compared to the 15. Is it worth the extra money. I have the 8 10 12 and 15 in my collection.
@@thewhiskyfriend One 18 on its way to me. I love the cask forward sweet stuff from Glenallachie. Pure nectar. Thank you for enlightning us all with your rewievs. Have a nice one.

Congrats, Alan, on the massive 1M views. I am in the US, and I always enjoy your reviews
Congratulations on the 1 million views! Cheers to the next 1 million on track to 10 million
1 million… wow, amazing Alan! Huge congrats. Proper whiskytube royalty now 😀
congrats on the milestone mate. I'd love to see the new Dronach up against the Allachie and the old Dronach...
Congratulations on the million views from Russia 🎉 We are watching your reviews with great pleasure!
Nice comparison. It's hard to argue against the higher age statement versions from the distillery you chose as the winner ...

Your very welcome and its my pleasure my friend
Congrats on the 1M views Alan.
I leave both the sherry bombs of this battle for others to enjoy.
Slàinte mhath
Congrats on 1 million views! I like both, but the Glendronach edges out the Glenallachie for me too.
Congratulations Alan🎉 GlenAllachie, some good whisky but the Dronach starts life as great distillate and no cask can hide that.
Congratulations. Indeed an accomplishment.
Cheers Gert you wont be far behind me fella...😜
@@thewhiskyfriend long way to go mate. Only at 360 000.
@WhiskyLoversSociety youll get there in no time fella
Good choice Alan . I am lucky enough to still have a 15 and 18 Gdronach from the Billy era 😮🥃😁
Me too. Almost certainly the two biggest gems in my stash. Both absolutely wonderful whiskies.
Nice review Alan, love the channel. I wonder, what's the bottling date of the Glendronach?
dronac 18 2017....thanks for dropping by and thanks for the kind words...😜
