STARTING COOL FLOWERS FROM SEED | Hardy Annuals Wins and Fails
This video contains both successes and fails. See how I sowed my “Cool Flowers” seeds for fall planting! I discuss how some of these seeds are started. We look at different brands and planting instructions. Stay tuned till the end of the video for an update of how well each one did. A bonus is that you will be able to see which brand gives more seed and how the seeds perform! Why did some of them fail? Could it be user error?

Okay so that’s what they are doing, my chicken was rolling in the dirt and one of my chickens died yesterday no scratches or anything she was perfectly fine but then just died. I was concerned because the chicken that died was trying to his herself before dying and I thought that my other chicken was trying to do the same so I thought maybe a sickness or something going around and we have a mama and four baby chicks in their own cope with their mama and I wanted to get them out if it was a sickness going around.

Howdy. The Arbor Day membership is confusing to me. Naturally, I wish to take advantage of the member savings, but do you become a member with say, a one-time donation of $50 or $100? At least for a limited time? Or do we have to participate in the $500 one-time donation for the "Oak" level of membership??

Great video. I asked for a few pumpkins to add to my two compost bins this year. I received about 20 from my neighbors along with 11 bags of leaves here in PA. The ones I added to the bin right after Halloween were rather hard to slice with my serated knife. The ones I added after Thanksgiving, were a breeze to slice through as most of the pulp had dried pretty good inside the pumpkin. I sliced out the seed for the birds yesterday, and will be chopping the pulp into smaller pieces tomorrow to be added to the two piles for the winter. I added one pumpkin last year and had great results. Totally disappeared. Can't wait.

I'm in 8A, Eastern NC and I'm trying my luck at starting poppies, foxglove, snaps, petunias, etc. I was freaking out that I'm late, but I have similar conditions as you. We had a frost about 3 weeks ago, it's been in the 50s and 60s every night since 🤣 I have a cheap plastic greenhouse I can pop the trays into if we have frost/freezing temps again soon. What do you plant for the earliest impact? I'm starting a new cottage garden area, trying to do as much from seeds and cuttings as I can to save money.

Johnny's is 50 seeds per package too, unless you order 500 or more it gives you options but they are expensive $4.50 just for 50 seeds, if more the cost goes up. I order from botanical interest it might not have all the varieties but the range is wide

Nice vid. I must say I've come to the conclusion that it's virtually hopeless putting tiny seedlings into freezing soil in early spring. If they're not transplanted into still-warm soil in autumn, it's better to wait till early summer when the soil has warmed up. Soil temperature is a much overlooked and underrated indicator. I'm in Australia and about to sow seed for over-wintering. I hope you had a good season!
