But you guys asked, and asked, and asked some more... so here we go: Welcome to my first attempt at The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind!

Today we're attempting the 100% of Deshaan; and exploring one of the absolute best ESO zones I've played so far! For a 10-year old area, I was pleasantly surprised by the depth this zone had to offer. I've always heard ESO has some great storytelling and Elder Scrolls content. So I've decided to play it like a "singleplayer" game this time around; using immersive settings and taking a slower pa...

When I first (last) played morrowind I chose argonian as it was the least ugly race, played many many hours before drifting away to pastures new. I've not played anything as immersive since.

It's funny because this goes both ways. This was my first Elder Scrolls game and I played it on xbox. Took me a few years of off and on play to get into but once I did it hooked me. Then trying Skyrim I just couldn't get into how simplified it was.

I had this game on the xbox, default was inverted Y-axis, no way to change it, so this game forced me to learn to play like that and I can never go back to normal controls because of it

Ngl I tried playing Morrowind years ago and hated the game, kept dying so I shelved it, but after the Starfield DLC was a disappointment I kept hearing people keep harping on about Bethesda at it's peak and Morrowind just kept coming up, Had to give it a shot again, it's still insanely rough to get into but I can absolutely see why people love this game.

USING A MAP IS OK AND NOT CHEATING! The original games shipped with a 2ft x 18in (or something like that) physical map so you could actually reference it while playing. edit: you brought it up 7 minutes later, right on!

Nordy was my fist character name I suck at naming characters especially when I was 14 lol but I really wish they would go back to the journal system though or have it where we can toggle it in the settings, I loved having to figure things out for myself yes it can be frustrating but it was so rewarding when I finally found that dungeon or whatever I was tasked with it made me feel smart.

You should play "easy" mode. Just choose an Orc and you have the Beserk power. Once activated, you are guaranteed to hit enemies, which helps increase your levelling much faster, plus makes it quite fun for a beginner.

I first played Morrowind before the DLC was even released for it. The physical map was very helpful but I also would literally write things down on paper because I didn't realize you could pull up your Journal and search for things (like the directions to get places). If you're still running through your playthrough the Journal is super useful once you realize all of the information it keeps, it's just not super intuitive when you first start playing.

You have to treat it with patience. It's not like other games these days whatsoever. You have to understand roleplaying like D&D and also have played macintosh rpgs lol. That's why your character misses all the fckn time in morrowind at the beginning haha. My fav is still and always will be Oblivion. Idk why ppl ride skyrim's D so much tbh.

This is the open-world adventure/exploration game, you're not meant to have answers, so guides were a bad idea. If you can't find something then you can't find it, that's part of the exploration process. I'd advise against using more guides, instead try to feel more open to the idea of moving quests to a backlog if you can't figure them out and try something else. Use the journal to catch up on it later when you've discovered some area or NPC that you couldn't find before. Someone requests urgent help against bandits, but doesn't tell you where? Just ignore it for the next 10-30 hours of gameplay until you stumble on the location by accident.

Bro, this game changed gaming for me. I loved rpgs prior but I got so invested in Morrowind it wasn't funny. Like I didn't think about anything else for months. This advice is too little too late but I wouldn't play as Argonian or Khajiit as they make it so you can't use some amazing armor. P.S. The paper map was crucial to playing the game.

I miss having an ability to read. I remember playing this as a kid, not only reading every text but being a non-English speaking kid, I had to use a dictionary (like an actual book kind) to find words I didn't know to figure out the instructions in the quests. Fond memories, RIP to reading and having an attention span.

Carry on. Looking forward to part 2. It's a right of passage. You must complete what you have started, Nerevar.

Played this game on the original xbox, and I was hooked. I had no idea what to expect since I never played an RPG, but it was just so awesome being able to gain experience by doing just about anything. Even jumping helped with acrobats, and so I was constantly hopping and seeing far I can jump off things without dying. Then I learned about flying and crafting magic spells. That was a game changer for me.

Additionally, it creates climate I truly love I wouldn't be playing colourfull Skyrim, horrible idea

A map came with the original game. That being said the temple in balmora has a box with the chance to spawn 2 shields worth 15k each. Just keep sleeping until they spawn and steal them and sell them to the scamp in the little city above. Then buy soul trap, jump, and any atribute or skill ups you want. Or summons if you wanna be the shadow monarch. Then create a spell that soul traps for 3 sec on a spell of w.e you want for 1 sec. Look at your feet and cast it. Welcome to being a super human. Let me know if you want some tips to make your playthroughs more enjoyable and how it really was when it came out.

It’s a commitment. You need the big ass guide book. You’re going to spend hours just walking in game and napping in real life as you keep going and going. Jump constantly - just build a muscle memory so you jump every single step. Get the magic boots. Do a little enchanting. Get speed and jump so you can cover ground like a maniac.
