FORCING My Little Sister to Try Skyrim (it went horribly)
This is my sister's FIRST TIME trying the cult-classic The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim-it might even be her first time playing an RPG. For nearly 4 hours, I guided her through this massive open world, from epic quests to hilarious mishaps. Will she get stuck in Bleak Falls Barrow? Lost in Whiterun? And will Lydia actually be helpful for once? Join us for this unforgettable first-time adventure in one of the greatest games ever made... although she might have a very different opinion.

I finally tried The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (it was alright)
มุมมอง 32Kวันที่ผ่านมา
By YOUR request: this video will showcase my first 10 hours of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I have strange fever-dream memories of playing Oblivion as a little kid; but I think I quit it pretty quickly. It's always been in my backlog of games to try; but it felt redundant with Skyrim out (and the new Skyblivion release on the horizons). But you guys asked, and asked, and asked some more... s...
I really tried. But I can't play Daggerfall anymore.

The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall released in 1996 (well before I was born) and despite my SEVERAL attempts to enjoy it; it keeps disappointing me. Perhaps with mods this game can overcome every issue I have with it; but at what point does it stop being Daggerfall? I think for my own sanity: it's time to move on to something else. 🐦 Twitter: FrostbreakYT 🌐 Discord: discord.gg/7emp 🔨 ...

I tried ESO's "Clockwork City" after Morrowind's. It was wild.

Today, we’re diving deep into The Elder Scrolls Online’s Clockwork City and comparing it with the Tribunal expansion’s version from Morrowind, released over 15 years ago! As a huge fan of steampunk, this comparison will highlight how both versions bring Sotha Sil’s realm to life, perhaps one slightly more than the other. From Mournhold's entry to the core of the Clockwork City, we'll explore ev...

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is loved by so many, and after my first playthrough, I was excited to dive into every bit of content it had post basegame. In this video, I dive into ESO’s Morrowind and compare it directly to The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, exploring how the classic TES III locations (like Vivec City, Balmora, Seyda Neen, and The Red Mountain) stack up against the reimagined Vvardenfell in The Elder Scrolls Online. From the mysteries of Seyda Neen's near PERFECT preservation to the ziggurats of Vivec City still under constructio...

I'm the oldest of five and one of two boys so I felt like I could relate with getting my own younger sisters to try games I enjoyed. While Bethie doesn't feel like she has the time to commit to Skyrim, let her know that it was a fun time for us viewers. I felt like I got to enjoy the game for the first time again.

    I know you are going for the ol vanilla, but I would suggest that on PCs and modern hardware, you install the "Unofficial Oblivion Patch," "4GB enabler," and "Darnified UI." Makes it a little less painful especially Darnified UI. Darn does what beth should have done for the PC version as the UI was intended for console and to be viewed on a TV across the room so they made it big af.

    And I thought watching Razbuten’s wife play Skyrim was interesting. Your sister provides so much more entertainment value just by virtue of having any familiarity with games so movement and controls aren’t slowing her down, only her impulsiveness. Your sister being so hyper makes this so funny. RPGs definitely aren’t for the sort that don’t feel like reading. Except Skyrim which is, like, the TES game for people who want to do the least reading so this is right up her alley. Actually if Hodd Toward gets what he wants TES 6 will have so little reading and be so streamlined that it’ll be perfect for your sister. Also why do I feel like I’m the only person that doesn’t have a problem with being able to pause and drink potions, I feel like I keep encountering this “complaint” because Fromsoft did a bad job of indoctrinating me into their genre cult.

    • @plebisMaximus

      Her argument seemed to be it made the game too easy, giving you a big unfair advantage over your enemies. People who have this issue just don't really think it's ok for an RPG to be easy, I guess. I don't mind mechanics that empower the player and reward us for preparing, so I agree with you, I like the potion system of TES. But I also really didn't care much for Dark Souls, so maybe we're just filthy casuals lol

    1. Seyda Neen and Caldera shouldn’t be in TESO: Morrowind - fair point. 2. Azura isn’t friendly to Vivec or the Tribunal, but she is one of the three "good" Daedra that the Chimer were praying to before lead by prophet Veloth. Later she cursed Chimers with no reason and turn the whole race to Dunmer. These three - Boethiah, Azura, and Mephala - are seen as protectors of the Chimer (Dunmer). The three Daedra are always in opposition to another trio: Clavicus Vile, Nocturnal, and Hermaeus Mora. This creates a common enemy between Azura and Vivec. Furthermore, there are two more TESO DLCs where these three Daedra try to get their hands on the Clockwork City and Artaeum, why are the Daedra so interested in it? Well, I can’t say without spoilers. In short: The Daedra's desire to control Nirn is stems from the same reason they want to take the Clockwork City: The Aedra sacrificed their lives to create the material world - Nirn, but the Daedra were too selfish to offer their power to do so. Instead, they sacrificed only fragments of their power to create their own small domains in Oblivion, as well as artifacts and unintelligent creatures. To create something as large as Nirn would require the full power of the Eight Divines, and no one was willing to do that (even the Aedra were tricked by Lorkhan (who is likely Talos, who is likely the incarnations of all the protagonists of The Elder Scrolls, protectors of Nirn). And even then Aedra probably didn’t want to give up their powers to create Nirn willingly, as I said before - they were tricked by Lorkhan. Therefore, the Daedra seek to take what has already been created-Nirn, or its part, Artaeum, or the Clockwork City. The Daedra are bound by their plans in Oblivion, and expanding their realms there would mean permanently sacrificing their own powers. Without their powers, the Daedra would perish, or at best, their plane would be taken over by another Daedra. Currently, the Daedric plans are in a delicate balance. 3. The meteor’s name is Baar Dau. It fell only after Vivec was fully gone from Nirn and Oblivion, probably to Lyg, but as far as I can see, the concept of Lyg is so complex that there seems to be an effort to erase it from the lore by ignoring it. 4. Why is Chodala buried in the Cavern of the Incarnate? Yeah, that’s silly. Maybe because the writers of TESO don’t fully understand the lore. As the lore grows larger, it becomes harder to keep it organized, which means there will always be some inconsistencies or issues that we have to overlook. As far as I understand, the people buried in that cavern were those who passed all the Nerevarine trials and died only when trying to take Azura’s ring. Therefore, Azura personally decided who was worthy. Why aren’t there many corpses in the cavern, despite the Nerevarine prophecy existing for thousands of years? Because only those who passed all trials and died in the cavern trying to pick up the ring should be buried there. Those thousands of people who thought they were the Nerevarine died before they could pass all the trials - it’s a form of natural selection. 5. The idea that Vivec losing his power caused Dagoth Ur’s awakening is a good one, and it’s presented in TESO: Morrowind. Essentially, as Vivec begins to lose his power, the Sixth House starts awakening in Kora-Dur, with all the ancestors of the Sixth House having dreams that lead them there. See the quest: Echoes of a Fallen House.

  • @connorsol
    @connorsol 21 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    What's really funny about this is that you led her through the game in the same way Skyrim was designed to lead players through the game: By telling them what to do at every turn because you didn't want to risk them giving up and going to do something else. It became less important that she found her own play style in the open world (like when she got excited to find Lavender) because you felt it was more important to be hinted / coached into doing the "main stuff everyone is expected to do" This back-seating is exactly why players of Morrowind and earlier games had such a hard time enjoying Skyrim: When you're made aware of everything you're "supposed to do by default just because you made a character and are playing the game", you can never stumble upon your own organic, individualized sense of enjoyment of it, and just as importantly, even if you do, you're already aware that it's not "supposed to be that way" and so you always feel like you're not playing it "right" which decreases the willingness to want to play it because your sense of agency is lost. Try having her play Morrowind now but never back-seat at all even if she asks, and then afterwards see the differences, would be a fun experiment. But you can't give in to your urge to "show her the waypoint", not even once!! Even if she kills an essential NPC 😆
