Hey man this was amazing to watch. My name is Michael Zenke, and I'm a writer on ESO. I was actually the writer for Auridon ten years ago, and it was absolutely incredible to watch someone take the story and our choices so seriously ten years later. Great points and very fairly argued, and it was a hoot to watch. I hope you keep going, lots of fun content across Tamriel and I'd be fascinated to hear other analysis like this!
Hey Michael nice to meet you! I hope you didn't take criticism too much to heart! I'm judging against some of the other stuff you guys have put out and, of course, it has been over a decade! I've been having a really great time overall and am surprised more people aren't playing some of the older content. I get the "chapters" and stuff are probably the big draw to new players, but the "classic" new player experience is lots of fun and a shame some people skip out on. Glad you enjoyed!
@@FrostbreakYT Oh 100%. I and ESO both have learned a lot in 10 years. :D And as you sort of noted in the video our goals for that zone were pretty different than they'd be if we were to do similar content nowadays. Or what our goals look like when we release new content zones. Was cool to see such a fair appraisal, good and bad. Have fun in Tamriel, man. :)
@@MichaelZenke It's a fantastic experience for an elder scrolls fan let me tell you. I'm a pretty massive lore-nerd and you guys really do a fantastic job with tie-ins from the previous games. Specifically in Grahtwood/Valenwood: areas that have NEVER been touched by another elder scrolls game before! I can't imagine how hard it would've been to build something like that from the ground-up with no reference material. I've seen every rock in skyrim & every ruin in Oblivion... you know? I know those areas exist in ESO but it's not "new" to me. THIS stuff is what I live for. It's almost like playing a new TES game (which was my goal for the series and why I isolated myself in each zone)! Excited to see what else the Dominion has for me to explore :)
10 hours in realizing "Estme" is actually "Estre". My bad... Edit 1: Thank you guys for all the positive feedback. I really poured my heart into this and I've got 8 new subscribers which is amazing! Edit 2: Wow, I did not expect this kind of attention. I am so grateful to everyone who decided to stop by. I went from 640 subscribers to almost 1,000 in less than 2 days. I can't thank you enough. I've tried to reply to every comment possible! Thank you so much for all the feedback and love you've shared; I'm glad this video found the right people :) Edit 3: I have received over 15,400 pieces of bait... I am speechless. I know it's not probably "glamourous" but the fact that 10 people reached out to me to help me out has me very grateful of this community. Thank you all so much, I'll make sure to give a proper shoutout next video!
You my friend got a subscriber today. This was very in depth and something I wanted someone to do for some time as 3000 combined hours of skyrim on xbox and steam. But I love ESO growing up playing MMOS like swtor feel in love with the combat difference of ESO to the point and click of other MMO's
@@HighMarshallHaka Thanks! I agree, action combat / hybrid is much more immersive compared to tab-target combat. ESO can 100% be played like Skyrim, you just need to find all the right settings :)
You wont get 100% bs video. You need to get emperor of cyrodiil. So this is a setup failure video. If you manage to 100% this game you need to invest 1 year of playtime
This is how my friend and I have been playing eso, 100%ing each region before moving onto the next in release order. We just recently got up to the Morrowind DLC and are still enjoying ourselves playing for a couple hours most nights
Honestly, it's the way to play this game. I've played it twice before and just sped through to the endgame but never felt satisfied. I am loving the journey taking it slow.
Keep going cuz in the new update 42 Gold Road has a really cool achievement skin will be released if completed all dlc zones. Its a black skin with a gold road all over the body its really cool!
Thank you so much! It was absolutely a huge time investment, but this video is doing better than I could have ever imagined; so I guess it was worth it!
If you are seriously going to cover 100% of 10+ years of content this is gonna be a great series. I did all these things 9 years ago on my main crafter then never again with any alts, since its much easier to just go to every zone and do the group event on public dungeons for skill points.
I hope to! It's going to be a challenge, but I'll go as long as I can. I'm a HUGE elderscrolls fan, so I'm excited to learn about the regions outside of Cyrodill and Skyrim!
ESO is so great for that. There is SO much amazing lore and so many wonderful stories. There are definitely limitations because it's an MMO, but it's still great.
plus unlike in alot of other mmo's you can actually play as a jack of all trade/versitle build and absolutely crush. hell its pushed on you to specialise in two (my favorite heals and duel welding dps. hit hard and fast or cast wide healing aos or rezes when i have the mana). you don't need to min max on eso to beat eso. even for higher levels. only things you have to really min max for are the top tear raids/trials/dungeons and any solo trail
Its been at least 7 years since I was in Auridon. Sped through it to get XP and don't remember a shred of it. Even if I don't have plans to pick it up again it's cool to see how it looks from someone taking their time. ESO really is such a huge world and I do regret how I (& 90% of players) ignore the most important parts of the game just to get to endgame the fastest. Great video man, the editing really kept me on my toes and interested
Awesome video! In a content landscape that mostly consists of "Is it worth playing" or "GODMODE" recycled build videos, this is a breath of fresh air. Can't wait for the next video in the series (especially Vvardenfell)👍
That's amazing to hear. I'm pretty new to this community, but yeah.. my front page is flooded with "build guides", "Should you play?", "PvP guides", etc. I'm much more interested in the actual world of the game, less the meta/grind. I understand a majority of viewers are indeed only interested in the builds/grind/meta content. For content creators whose "job" is it to make ESO content, going that route is probably the best for monetary reasons. However, I don't make a cent of my videos! I just want to take it a bit slower and if there are some other like-minded people out there that's awesome!
Cant remember last time ive seen a ESO video with this much effort put in it figures you're from the Skyrim community lol pretty rare we get videos of this caliber on ESO cuz people say its bad
I can understand people coming from singleplayer Elder Scrolls games being let down by ESO; but I definitely don't think it's "bad". I'm 100% guilty of calling it quits too early when it came to ESO. But I've now played more in the past 2 weeks than in the last 2 YEARS and really liking it so far. Regardless, thank you for the comment & kind words :)
I appreciate the effort you've put into this video! I occasionally find myself craving ESO content and it's hard to find good videos. thanks big dawg♥️
This just popped up on my suggested content and I gotta say, please keep it up. It's such a refreshing video on a zone I completed 10 years ago. Excited to see this type of content on other zones!
Well written, well narrated - awesome job man. I dont know what algorithm gods put your video on my feed but you def got my subsciption. Keep it up - I hope this is the series that makes your channel take off!
Coming from someone who has been playing this game since release, I put countless hours and have many memories into this game (for better or worse). Seeing you go through the journey I and so many other people have gone through is both nostalgic and awesome to witness from a new perspective. Im very impressed with how much research you have put into this. I'm sure you have heard by now that the dlc's are really where the game shines (storywise). I can't wait to watch more of this series and your channel in general, subbed! 2 pieces of advice though! I saw someone else mention it, and I cannot stress it enough. DO NOT worry about 100% fishing. Nothing will break your willpower faster, I would save it and go back if anything. As for your companion, I can think of no one better than Garrus from mass effect. Even if youre not using him for the fishing perks. Secondly, Make sure not to burn yourself out, It's pretty easy to do, especially if you are grinding all bass game zones. By the time you get to the dlcs, you might not ever want play eso anymore. And honestly, I wouldn't even blame you. It would be a shame though, as some of them are my favorite zones in all of eso. Good luck man and on behalf of the daggerfall covenant welcome to the community!
I really appreciate your comment, thanks for the kind words. Glad to have you around :) I really like the fishing tbh. Just finished it in Grahtwood, took me 3 hours tops. Maybe I got lucky in Grahtwood, or maybe I got unlucky in Auridon. Time will tell. But I enjoy having Netflix up or something while doing some fishing. If I do start to get burnt out, yes, fishing would probably be the first thing I drop; but that's all part of the challenge!
I've played eso pretty much every day since beta in 2014, this video was great and refreshing to watch and i fully agree with your criticisms of the questlines. The DLC stories get it better and there is quite a difference when you go back to older content like the base game zones. Can't wait for more of these!
Glad you enjoyed! I think once I'm done the dominion storyline, I'll put up a poll or something for people to vote on a "DLC" for me to do. So far people are recommending Vvardenfell and Clockwork city the most!
Current food and companion buffs make the fishing grind pretty easy. Just get a bunch of bait, go zone to zone (for me was A to Z) and google search some spots if needed. It only takes a Netflix series or 2 to complete. Not so bad!
honestly the title doesnt do the video justice, i clicked expecting just another youtube challenge video, and i got some genuinenly lovely analysis and discussion of the zone
People can say ESO is not their type of game, but you cannot say ESO lacks content. It's kind of like Runescape in that there is literally so much stuff to do that you don't know what to do.
I absolutely love this! As an ESO fanatic, I love videos like this. Someone just deep diving into the game 💞 I hope you can really enjoy the stories from quests and main quests in this game and that fishing didn't totally kill your spirit 😂😂
I enjoyed this episode a lot. My one regret is that I find the Aldmeri Dominion storyline tends to be very Arwen focused. Daggerfall’s zone stories are interesting in how they relate to King Emeric, but more focus on the plots that surround him. The antagonists and allies to the king are all very intricate (for an MMO). Skyrim is my favorite game ever, and ESO is the game I’ve played the most. You picked a grand time to start this series.
Thank you! I must've got the timing right, I was expecting no more than 300 views on this video... but it's clearly catching a wave of interest from ESO.
This is such a unique take on ESO content. I came back to the game 5 months ago and i fell in love with it but i just couldnt find anyone that would refresh the story for me until now. I usually have the urge to just skip most of the quests to get to the max lvl but now i think i will try to do it similar to you. Thanks for the great vid.
I really appreciate that man, thanks for the kind words. ESO's over 10 years old now right, if I want to make videos about it, it's gotta be something people haven't really seen before :)
From the perspective of someone who doesn't have the patience for ESO, I at least think it's cool that it expands some lore. Having a ton of mods to make everything better in Skyrim just makes it more fun and immersive for me!
Subbed and honestly looking forward to the future of this series. The flow and chill vibes you have going is a great watch before bed. I personally don't play ESO anymore, but I really enjoy the lore and I am sure by the end of it all, you will be a lore master indeed.
great video! would 100% love to see more btw, idk if it would have changed anything, since it's been a while since i played the starter content myself, but technically Auridon is not the starter zone for Aldmeri Dominion, Khenarthi's Roost is. Khenarthi's Roost introduces a few of the important characters you will meet throughout questing through that alliance zones, so if you didn't do that, maybe it could impact your impression of the characters later on while questing through the main story (you not knowing them etc). for example you meet Silvenar and the Green Lady first in Khenarthi's but i don't remember if there are more characters (and from Auridon specifically) that you meet in Khenarthi's Roost.
Yes you are correct. I did actually include that in my script, BUT I removed it because I honestly thought most people who would watch this video were already subscribed to me (and would've already seen the Khenarthi's Roost vid I have on my channel). But I can't complain! Idk what happened but this video is catching the eye of loads of new viewers! I was expecting 500 views max!
This is an excellent breakdown of an initial experience for ESO, I am feeling the same atm. Interesting video to come across while finally get around to playing ESO myself. Google has my TH-cam recommendations down it seems.
I'm sensing the next big eso content creator. Really good video man keep these quality videos coming and you'll take the spotlight for sure. Really excited to see what you think of newer dlc zones and their stories. Welcome back to eso!
Hey thanks! It would be a dream to be able to create Elder Scrolls content, but I don't think I'm quite there yet xD. I appreciate your vote of confidence :)
Great video, something I would suggest: Perhaps bringing a part of the video where you talk about the characters in the area could be interesting. (Razum-dar, for exemple, At least personally I have a lot of fun with this character! but.... well.... I don't know if you did Khenarthi's Roost, but theoretically Auridon is not the Starting Zone, the Starting Zone of the Dominion is Khenarthi's Roost, and there you meet Razum-dar and end up joining, unintentionally, the Dominion army), so, if you begin in Auridon, meeting him may feel a little strange during Auridon). Recently I've been playing through the entire ESO base game to work on the unofficial Portuguese-BR translation of the game, and I can say the following about Auridon, and even the Dominion: Despite not being the faction with the best storytelling, I think the history of this faction becomes fascinating due to the additions it brings to the franchise's lore. Understand more about the altmer, bosmer and khajiit, their lifestyle and, above all, lose some of our prejudice that we created about them in other games in the franchise. (For example, now we know that not all altmer are ass***es LOL) I ended up appreciating the zones a lot more after I started seeing not just the questing, but also this kind of worldbuilding addition to the entire franchise. BTW: I sent you some bait and, most importantly, some food that can help you with your fishing! I got Master Angler, the achievement of finishing all fishing in Tamriel, before Sharp launched... And back then, yes, that was difficult :'( sooo i feel you. There are specific Champion Points that make fishing easier too. In the green tree! Hope u get fun with the game :D
Thank you for the comment! To answer your questions: 1. I has the exact same idea. I think I need to do a segment maybe before the main story, where I highlight the most important 4-5 characters. It would help organize the story summary slightly since viewers would be able to recognize the "names" of repeating/important characters in the specific story. Razum-dar is pretty funny, but I didn't find him exactly relevant in Auridon, not compared to Khenarthi's Roost anyway; he was basically just a glorified quest-giver. But I'm sure he has more to offer story wise as we move forward. 2. I do know Khenarthi's Roost is the starter Zone. I actually have a video on this channel about it. I never in a million years thought this video would blow up like it did, and kinda assumed MOST people that would watch this video, came from my Khenarthi's Roost one. 3. Best of luck on your translation, that's a huge project! I agree, the dominion storyline sets up the Altmer as "less-than-perfect" leaders of the faction. With a serious god-complex compared to it's allies; which I'm sure will create some great situations further down the storyline. 4. Thank you so much for the bait and food! I do have some champion points, this is actually my Father's ESO account and I think he's CP 400 or something on one of the characters. He actually paid for some of the DLC (Orsinium, Clockwork city, Murkmire), so he just gave me his account which I renamed and made my own character on! I will look into those green points, never really used the CP system before haha.
This is singlehandedly one of the coolest ideas for a series ive seen in all of youtube. It was a joy to watch, and I think the objective overlook on the zone as a whole is such a neat idea, and im very excited to see more. goodluck with the rest of your journey in eso, and ill be on the lookout for more videos.
Thank you so much that's really nice of you to say. Honestly I never expected it to pop-off like it did, that's why it has more of a "journalistic" feel to it. Worst case scenario, I wanted to be able to reflect on the video at a later point in time :)
Wow I was really blown away by this video. As a skyrim and elder scrolls lore fan completing the eso zones were some of my favourites, also definitely underrated. I was not previously familiar with your content but I will be looking forward to new uploads 😄
been playing since launch and love this game. always thought TH-cam lacked good playthroughs. this is easily one of the best ones, great job on this video. hope you're having fun in Tamriel!
This video was wonderful. I really hope you make a series out of this because I loved every second of it. You have a beautiful mind for storytelling. fantastic job
As someone who just got into this game after seing another video of yours and is now 36 hours in after a week and a half I gotta say I have absolutely no idea how your world bosses are so easy hah! Tho I am a templar so I don't know if that matters, so far I can only solo the big slow hitting ones and even then it takes aaaaages Love the videos tho ❤
Just stumbled accross your page after getting back into ESO myself about 6 year break. I was shocked to see your subscriber number. The quality of content i would have thought 100k plus. You gained my sub and hopefully many more to come
Genuinely love this video and how you've structured your experience and the zone story! Can't wait to see more of the zones done by you and maybe some day the DLCs 🙏🏻
Glad you enjoyed it! I 100% plan to do DLC's, in fact, in my next video coming up I'm going to talk about how/where you guys can suggest zones for me to play (after the Aldmeri Dominion storyline).
I really hope you continue with this series. I'm especially looking forward to your take on specific zones later on--Rivenspire in the Daggerfall Covenant, Wrothgar, and eventually Necrom. I'm a huge fan of the writing in all three of those zones, and I think the Necrom story is the best official Elder Scrolls content ever written.
The plan is to stop when I drop! I've already been contacted by ESO devs/writers about my videos which is super awesome! Excited to explore more of the world!
i played skyrim so many times but never really understood elderscroll lore as whole, and never really planned to play the online game but always wanted to know the lore, this video is really helpful in that department. and it was also entertaining, ty.
Basic world bosses are actualy just a mobs with more damage and health. Yet some bosses can hurt even 160CP character, like 3-werewolves boss, even if they use standrt attack patter, while Vamasu bosses are just your casual vamasu mob with extra health. Also yes, you can solo them and this is good, but what time you spent on it, for such an easy boss so the most difficult thing in such fights is to not make one mistake and not lose all the progress. Fishing bites also drops from an animals that has 1hp and ussualy oneshots, insects can be found in delves a lot so justgrind them when you explore wolrd, also gather materials as well
That was really interesting and fun to watch, how a new player sees the zone and its content. Well done, mate. I'm looking forward to the next chapter👍
Fantastic vid to watch, Auridon has my favorite quest in the entire game, the one when the mother asks to pray for her lost children, such an awesome and well written quest.
This is essentially how I played ESO and I loved it, this has inspired me to make a new character and go back and do the same thing, probably solo this time as most of my friends dont enjoy ESO much
I reaaaaally hope you keep this series going for a long time! Im an "endgamer" who got brought into the game only for trials and trifecta chasing and have barely gotten to experience the story side of the game, tbh I havent even done the main quest on any characters! Would love to see these zone story summaries that you do for all the zones and dlcs! Great work, keep it up!
Auridon's MSQ being a shallow Austrian Painterism 2.0 is spot on. I found the Coldharbour MSQ to be more engaging, but that's mainly because I really like Cadwell, Lyrics Titanborn, and Dumbledore. Recently got back into ESO to satisfy my Tank fix, and I've been having a blast, despite the games issues. Subscribed. I am looking forward to seeing more of this series.
Welcome to the club! Yeah I found Auridon a bit shallow, but I'm looking forward to doing Coldharbour again since I don't really remember the finer details.
So glad I found this series. As a day one player, I just decided to do something similar with my new Arcanist. The fact that you are playing in first person mode is wild. I can't imagine that. Also, if you are familiar with Critical Role, you will hear Talisen Jaffe everywhere as well. I can't wait to watch the rest!
Just made a new solo zone guide achievement toon recently too to go back and enjoy the beginning after all the years of Skyrim and new content. Love to see others doing the same!
You seem like an extremely grateful person… so I shall leave a subscription in the place of thy followers! Also your video making skill were on point video seemed clean and well put together. Felt like I was watching a TH-camr who has been around for years after years! 🎉
Welcome aboard! I used to have a Minecraft channel with 15-20k subs. Got burnt out but felt bad about uploading to that channel so I made a new one. I am definitely not new, although 100% a little rusty when it comes to editing haha.
Watching this made me try playing ESO (i had 3 hours previously) i played when it first launched but i just couldn't get into it i now have 10 hours and i intend to play a lot more :P keep up with the solid videos dude
I remember playing the beta and then the game at launch religiously for a few months then never came back to it. This makes me nostalgic for it and ready to redownload it again!
I absolutely loved your format and editing so those 11 hours spent were very worth it! You can really tell you put in the work to make this video high quality and we can tell and it is very good to see! I really hope you continue and do all the zones. I’ve played since the release on PC and moved over to PS when they gave us a 1 time transfer. I played through like you did and story wise I thought Aldemeri Dominion was 2nd place. My favorite was the Daggerfall Covenant in terms of story. AD has the best scenery though, but there are still parts that give it a run for its money. I really hope you go through and do all the starting zones, it’s such a fun video idea and I’m glad you’re executing it. If you’re playing on PS I can help as well. Subscribed!
Thank you so much! I am playing on PC unfortunately, but I appreciate your offer :). Loving the AD zones so far, it's the only "exclusive" storyline where every place you go has never been seen in another ES game before!
got your vid randomly recommended and enjoyed watching it, but it also reminded me of couple of major criticisms I have for the ESO... and it has been my main MMO for 9 years now. Altmeri Dominion zones is how I fell in love with the game and I still have a soft spot for their stories. 1. the story actualy supposed to start with original tutorial where you are introduced to some of the major characters in ESO's ongoing storyline, lose and regain your soul from Molag Bal and in case of Altmeri dominion - end up on Kenarthi's roost where you are originally introduced to Queen's right hand and one of the best characters in ESO - Razum Dar. but the game started dropping new players in Auridon (and respective zones for other alliances) pretty early on in the game's release - mostly because back when they still sold it as imperial edition, people didn't know how to acess their imperial horses... so instead of adding the stables to the actual starting islands - they ended up creating a more disjointed storytelling situation. and its been only made worse by most recent tutorial that barely makes an attempt to explain to new players the chronology of the world or how the stories within it even work with each other. 2. balancing in this game is such a mess, I'm pretty sure developers more or less gave up on it. depending on your individual skill level as a player, class you play, which zone you are in and whether you have any champion points - will determine how much challenge you get or do not get from content - and the same content that is just way too easy for one player, would be extremely difficult for another. I found it interesting that you had so many more issues with public dungeons vs world bosses, because in general public dungeons are supposed to be and often are bellow world bosses in difficulty. public event (dolmen etc) difficulty also varies wildly.
Interesting. I knew about Kenarthi's Roost (I have a video on my channel about it), but I never knew this is all supposed to take place after that "main" intro quest. Good news is I do very clearly remember that intro in the old ESO (I probably did it 4-6 times), but that's good to know that it's supposed to come before.
I love elder scrolls, played a ton of the big 3. Ive never tried the mmo, mostly because i play WoW. It has always been something I wanted to try and your video is pushing me to try. Great content!
Very cool, stumbled across this video after getting the housing start kit that's on sale this month which took me to this zone. Have played eso on and off over the years but never really left the starting zone so this is interesting since being forced to explore
This video inspired me to go through eso zone by zone and complete everything, almost done with Auridon 30 hours in. Can't wait to see more and do more
I've been to greymoor a few times. Back when I made Skyrim content on this channel, I recorded some background footage comparing the two zones! Never did the story and probably only explored 30% of the zone but I have seen it! They both feel very different, but I'm a little bias to the Skyrim version of course xD
I do the zone storylines maybe once a year on a new character, just because I enjoy the questing, so to see a new perspective on them was really interesting. I think you did a wonderful job analysing the zone, and the 22 minutes were over so fast! Subscribed for sure :)
Thank you for completing the Auridon zone. This was well made and fairly judged. I could never complete all of it, since I find Ebonheart and Covenant zones more to my liking as they are closely related to Skyrim and Daggerfall. If you began your completion starting from Khenarti's Roost there is some connection between the two zones's story. I'm curious if the Auridon zone leads to somewhere else after completion. I hear a lot of talk about Queen Ayrenn and the "proxy queen" in Sommerset. Also, you were fleeced. You didn't have to pay 70k gold for those worms. Auridon is teeming with torchbugs. Insect parts can also be used as bait, with a little, almost negligible delay. You can collect 200 of those in half an hour of dedicated mindless gathering maybe less.
Yeah I actually did collect a lot of river bait (butterflies, torchbugs, etc.) from the overland. It's the worms (salt water and lake water) bait that are tough to come around. I did complete Kenarthi's Roost; the video is on my channel! I didn't really do a 100% guide for it, it's more about the lore of the Sea-Elves and the island itself.
Excellent video! I really liked your tone and analysis, it made me want to hop back into the game after being away for a few months. FYI, Auridon is technically the second starting zone for the Aldmeri Dominion. The very first zone is an island called Khenarthi's Roost and it is south of Elsweyr, be sure not to miss it ;). I cant wait to keep up with this series as it comes out!
That's a great video series to start, here's a couple of tips: - You mentioned that you're going to do the main zone quests separately from the side ones to get more accurate time measurements. I STRONGLY recommend AGAINST THAT. A lot of the zones in ESO are structured in a way where the side areas compliment the main story. The way I usually do it is by charting a path to the next main point and clearing anything optional on the way. For the sake of your own experience, I'd highly recommend that, especially in zones like Malabal Tor or Reaper's March, and DEFINITELY in Rivenspire if you plan on doing the DC storyline later. - Speaking of Rivenspire, it's a certified banger of a zone, so I'd definitely recommend clearing it as a part ot the DC storyline eventually. - Keep on fishing, there's currently an anniversary event going on and any fishing node has a chance to drop a rare style page for swords.
Good to know maybe I'll do the sidequests along with the main story then. Is that's what's going on with fishing!? I kept getting these gold paper things. I just consumed them or whatever and it gave me a new item or something.
@@FrostbreakYT well, there's only one style page dropping from fishing during the event, and that's the trueflame sword replica. I'm not sure if you can get multiples after consuming one of them since I haven't done much fishing after getting mine, but I guess maybe that's what's happening to you. In this case though, the trueflame style pages are bound, meaning you can't trade them with other players, so it's not like there's any benefit in getting multiples. There are also jubilee boxes dropping from daily quests and various other activities as a part of the event, those can also drop style pages and motifs. Style pages are effectively skins for your gear. You can apply them at outfit stations at any major city, for some gold or outfit change tokens (which are easily the most unnecessary currency in the game). The motifs are basically the same thing, with the main differences being that they can be used to craft an item with a certain look, while style pages can only be applied at the outfit station. Also there's a very slight chance to get a full motif (so one item that covers all pieces of armour and weapons) but these are extremely rare. Once consumed, in both cases, the appearance tied to that style page/motif is unlocked permanently for your account. You can also apply these outfit styles to your companion!
I am considering playing ESO for the first time just to do what you’re doing because I love grinds, keep it up man I believe in you!! (Great editing and quality of video btw)
You’re doing something thousands of us have already done, on multiple characters. However what is massively impressive to the point it blows my mind, you’re doing it in 1st person! Kudos!
I've been playing some 5 years now and am also a big skyrim fan. Your approach made me want to work at finishing up all the zone stories again. Awesome work hope it doesn't burn ya out on the game tho.
That's awesome to hear, I think ESO is a hidden gem that most of us Skyrim players look over too quickly. You just gotta emulate that "Bethesda First-Person RPG" feel and it plays fantastic!
@@FrostbreakYT Oh no i meant 5 years of ESO, much more on skyrim. Whenever there is a lul in what i'm doing on ESO i tend to just play skyrim on the side. When i first started I did a bunch of the story but nowadays I mostly do endgame trials content with a core group.
this is really interesting to watch as someone who has been playing ESO for around 2k hours. There is a certain power creep and because of that basegame content can be easily soloed, also the game focusses more on good short isolated stories rather than having a large overarching storyline wich evlolves with time like WoW has
Great video, and as someone who definitely speedran through so many areas, it’s neat to see how much nuance I missed. Been forever since I played ESO but I’m sure I have a bunch of bait in my inventory cause I never fished, will send it over once I can get the game redownloaded.
I'm just now getting into this game with a buddy and we're enjoying it so far. I'm brand new to the genre but I like that it feels slower paced than what I was expecting.
I never played ESO nor heard from it pretty much but your video got me invested! Looking forward to watch the following parts of this series. I won't pick it up due to me also having the need to 100% everything I can and don't want to invest so much time... You deserve much more attention for this alone, love this humor sprinkled in it makes it more fun obviously lol!
Baldurs gate 3 is always available, but I also respect that u sit though eso and finished each zone, I’m now tempted to stop my 4th play though of bg3, to play eso
Can’t wait for you to go through the rest of the zones! I can tell you what are my top MSQ zones in hopes that when you reach them you’d like them too. Wrothgar, Summerset/Artaeum, Clockwork City and Elsweyr.
Clockwork city is high on my list. Might do it right after the Dominion storyline. This ESO account is technically my dad's and he purchased the Orsinium and Clockwork City DLC, so I can play them anytime without needing ESO+!
Wow, I've got like 100 hours in ESO that I committed years ago back when it was released. I've always been tempted to do something like this! Maybe not every single grind, but 100% on the lore, quests, and exploration for every zone
If YT hide subscriber numbers, I wouldve thought that you had hundreds of thousands of subscribers and a boatload of videos under your belt with the level of quality that this video is. I absolutely loved the background ambience and the pacing/narration of the video. If I was still playing ESO I would definitely give you worms ha! Cant wait for the next video!
Literally took me about 800 hours just to go from the beginning of the game to the current fully released chapter (at the time, this was pre-High Isle). I did all story content I could (including other faction stuff), and even some PvP content. Some of those hours of course were me just having fun and chilling in other places, and grinding a little bit so I could get through content, but a majority of it was me genuinely getting through just story-related content and side quests. I did not 100% the regions, I just did what I came across with some assistance in finding certain quests. Some quests take you outside the zones and back again by the way. Ever since they changed it so every mob is levelled to you, rather than having max/min levels for zones by the way, things have been easier with mobs, which is probably why you were able to do things like fight world bosses by yourself. Good. Luck. :) (If you need help, feel free to ask, I'm sure people would be up for helping!)
Wow that's crazy to hear this game has over 800 hours of story content alone. Thanks for letting me know! The community so far as been awesome, I have nothing but kind words to say about the ESO playbase so far ;)
Amazing format to watch! I wouldnt mind watching a longplay-upload on the zone explorations in a seperate video. Love watching those in the background or while being productive at the desk myself haha
Thanks! I will keep that in mind, I try to only put out really high-quality stuff and try to avoid raw content. But I'm going to try streaming tonight and maybe that'll be a substitute for something you're looking for!
Funny how utube recommended me this video now...I'm also coming back to ESO after some 20 hours of not being to stick to it previously and this actually seems like a great checklist. I'm also gonna do each zone solely and then going after the next...maybe except fishing XD
Dude, seriously well made. I'm not even that big of a Skyrim fan but this drew me in. You have a great talent for story telling and flow. Well done on the video, shocked to see such good content from someone with 3k subs, truly great work my friend keep it up

Can you please make the game a bit more difficult, it's impossible to die, no element of danger.
@@AdamVarIey They're a writer; I'm not sure they have that power 😅
10 hours in realizing "Estme" is actually "Estre". My bad...
Edit 1: Thank you guys for all the positive feedback. I really poured my heart into this and I've got 8 new subscribers which is amazing!
Edit 2: Wow, I did not expect this kind of attention. I am so grateful to everyone who decided to stop by. I went from 640 subscribers to almost 1,000 in less than 2 days. I can't thank you enough. I've tried to reply to every comment possible! Thank you so much for all the feedback and love you've shared; I'm glad this video found the right people :)
Edit 3: I have received over 15,400 pieces of bait... I am speechless. I know it's not probably "glamourous" but the fact that 10 people reached out to me to help me out has me very grateful of this community. Thank you all so much, I'll make sure to give a proper shoutout next video!
If anything that proves your point that the characters don't really have any weight to them you couldn't even remember the main villain's name.
@@insolvenzberater5892 wtf are you yapping about?
This is how my friend and I have been playing eso, 100%ing each region before moving onto the next in release order. We just recently got up to the Morrowind DLC and are still enjoying ourselves playing for a couple hours most nights
Honestly, it's the way to play this game. I've played it twice before and just sped through to the endgame but never felt satisfied. I am loving the journey taking it slow.
Keep going cuz in the new update 42 Gold Road has a really cool achievement skin will be released if completed all dlc zones. Its a black skin with a gold road all over the body its really cool!
ESO Morrowind is peak in every sense of the word, it's so good
This could easily end up being one of the best ESO series on youtube, good stuff
That means a lot, I look forward to making more videos :)
You studied carefully, you put in the research, you explained the results carefully. Perfect format. Great video. Liked. Keep it up!
@@FrostbreakYT Well if you finish all the zone quests you do get a reward from Cadwells silver and gold.
Good luck ^_^
ESO is so great for that. There is SO much amazing lore and so many wonderful stories. There are definitely limitations because it's an MMO, but it's still great.
Great video thanks for sharing
plus unlike in alot of other mmo's you can actually play as a jack of all trade/versitle build and absolutely crush. hell its pushed on you to specialise in two (my favorite heals and duel welding dps. hit hard and fast or cast wide healing aos or rezes when i have the mana). you don't need to min max on eso to beat eso. even for higher levels. only things you have to really min max for are the top tear raids/trials/dungeons and any solo trail
Cant remember last time ive seen a ESO video with this much effort put in it
figures you're from the Skyrim community lol
pretty rare we get videos of this caliber on ESO cuz people say its bad
I can understand people coming from singleplayer Elder Scrolls games being let down by ESO; but I definitely don't think it's "bad".
I'm 100% guilty of calling it quits too early when it came to ESO. But I've now played more in the past 2 weeks than in the last 2 YEARS and really liking it so far.
Regardless, thank you for the comment & kind words :)
The combat is just horrendous that's all
I'll be 100% watching this ENTIRELY. Good content, keep it up.
Glad to have ya'
Never heard of you before. Not watched your content. But this was so enjoyable! Havent played Skyrim in years but play ESO and found this so good.
Thank you! I'm happy you enjoyed :)
I appreciate the effort you've put into this video! I occasionally find myself craving ESO content and it's hard to find good videos. thanks big dawg♥️
Glad someone finds it interesting! Appreciate the feedback
That's awesome! Glad to hear it's coming across people's page who might* find it interesting! Thanks for the love :)
Aurodon is so beautiful. I really loved Vulkhel Guard and Skywatch. Aesthetically my favorite cities
It's gorgeous. Probably the prettiest zone I've ever played in (in ESO) in my 50-ish hours.
I love auridon and all those zones too. I feel like it’s by far the best of the alliance zones.
It's a cool idea, but maybe reconsider 100%-ing fishing. It will break you, my man.
😅
For real, I saw a dude with no lie over 19k hours in ESO while playing on PS5. He only had about 45% of the trophies.
Also could be worth getting the artaeum fish bowl to up the odds of rare fish?
As someone who did the Master Angler title before Necrom and without fishing food buffs it is a nightmare grind
:D thank you for the kind words! Much appreciated :)
Very well edited video and I love the premise. Looking forward to more videos in this series!
Honestly, fishing was super atmospheric and enjoyable to watch Netflix/TH-cam on the side! The issue is the bait!! So expensive😭
@@FrostbreakYT Too bad you are north America otherwise you could get mine as I never fish!
@@unicornscake7423 Ah! That's okay, I appreciate the thought anyway :)
@@FrostbreakYT Your video has a lot of effort and heart poured into it. You deserve the momentum and surge of views. Try your best to keep it up!
That'd be great. I'd love to be the lore master of ESO. Not many content creators out there for this game who do that kinda stuff so that's cool!
This is exactly the type of playthrough I did but with the ebonheart pact and I had a lot of fun. I look forward to watching everything you make
great video! would 100% love to see more
btw, idk if it would have changed anything, since it's been a while since i played the starter content myself, but technically Auridon is not the starter zone for Aldmeri Dominion, Khenarthi's Roost is.
@@FrostbreakYT blame the youtube algorithm 😂
This is a cool challenge. I'm going back into ESO and may try this.
Great video, something I would suggest:
Perhaps bringing a part of the video where you talk about the characters in the area could be interesting.
Recently I've been playing through the entire ESO base game to work on the unofficial Portuguese-BR translation of the game, and I can say the following about Auridon, and even the Dominion:
Despite not being the faction with the best storytelling, I think the history of this faction becomes fascinating due to the additions it brings to the franchise's lore. Understand more about the altmer, bosmer and khajiit, their lifestyle and, above all, lose some of our prejudice that we created about them in other games in the franchise. (For example, now we know that not all altmer are ass***es LOL)
I ended up appreciating the zones a lot more after I started seeing not just the questing, but also this kind of worldbuilding addition to the entire franchise.
To answer your questions:
Great Video man.
Hoping to see more of this journey of yours, this video has me hooked and it's making me want to give ESO another try after so long.
That's great to hear :)
2024 truly has the potential to be ESO’s best in years. So excited for it and looking forward to seeing where you go with it!
Me too!
Wow I was really blown away by this video. As a skyrim and elder scrolls lore fan completing the eso zones were some of my favourites, also definitely underrated. I was not previously familiar with your content but I will be looking forward to new uploads 😄
Glad you enjoyed it & welcome!
This was a really awesome video. ESO content on TH-cam has been stale for years and this is such a breath of fresh air.
That's amazing to hear thank you so much :)
been playing since launch and love this game. always thought TH-cam lacked good playthroughs. this is easily one of the best ones, great job on this video. hope you're having fun in Tamriel!
Thanks for the comment! I'm loving it so far
This video was wonderful. I really hope you make a series out of this because I loved every second of it. You have a beautiful mind for storytelling. fantastic job
Thank you! Will do! Grahtwood is on the way! Just need another week or so to finish it up!
glad i found this, i loved the takes, look forward to all the follow ups
As someone who just got into this game after seing another video of yours and is now 36 hours in after a week and a half I gotta say I have absolutely no idea how your world bosses are so easy hah! Tho I am a templar so I don't know if that matters, so far I can only solo the big slow hitting ones and even then it takes aaaaages
Love the videos tho
❤
Just stumbled accross your page after getting back into ESO myself about 6 year break. I was shocked to see your subscriber number. The quality of content i would have thought 100k plus. You gained my sub and hopefully many more to come
Thanks Tom! I still can't believe I'm at 10k, when I put out that video I had 630 subs!
I have played ESO very slightly and stuck with Skyrim, just downloaded ESO again yesterday and it’s a lot to dive into. This series is what I neeeed💯
Happy to provide! Takes about 2 weeks for me to make one of these videos, but I hope you'll stick around to watch the next one!
Thank you! I appreciate that :)
Glad you enjoyed! See you in Grahtwood :)
Wow TH-cam is really trying to tell me something. I redownloaded ESO today and you drop this absolute banger of a video. I sense a storm brewing.
Appreciate that :D
Fantastic vid to watch, Auridon has my favorite quest in the entire game, the one when the mother asks to pray for her lost children, such an awesome and well written quest.
Thanks! I haven't been to Auridon in a couple months now but I think I vaguely remember the quest you're talking about
This is essentially how I played ESO and I loved it, this has inspired me to make a new character and go back and do the same thing, probably solo this time as most of my friends dont enjoy ESO much
I reaaaaally hope you keep this series going for a long time! Im an "endgamer" who got brought into the game only for trials and trifecta chasing and have barely gotten to experience the story side of the game, tbh I havent even done the main quest on any characters! Would love to see these zone story summaries that you do for all the zones and dlcs! Great work, keep it up!
Me too! I'm not feeling any burnout yet (maybe a little after editing for 16 hours) but I'm excited to jump into Greenshade :)
This video was really cool to see. I am interested in watching your ESO Journey!
Coming soon! Thanks for sticking around
Autocorrect turned Lyris into Lyrics. That is glorious. 🤣
Glad this series found you! I just uploaded my 7th episode today on my first DLC zone. I hope you enjoy the adventure yourself!
As a big fan of morrowind and tribunal content, i cant wait to see you in vvardenfell and clockwork city ❤️
Looking forward to it aswell!
Just made a new solo zone guide achievement toon recently too to go back and enjoy the beginning after all the years of Skyrim and new content. Love to see others doing the same!
It's a fun way to play for sure :)
As someone who doesn't have time to play through ESO but a love of Elder Scrolls lore, this is really awesome! I can't wait for what you have in store
Thank you!
Watching this made me try playing ESO (i had 3 hours previously) i played when it first launched but i just couldn't get into it i now have 10 hours and i intend to play a lot more :P keep up with the solid videos dude
Wow that's awesome to hear! Glad you were able to get a bit of inspiration :)
Wasn't sure how this was going to be, but your attitude, chill demeanor and voice are good, so this is a bopp in my opinion.
Can't wait to see more and do more
That's great to hear!! Auridon was a pretty great zone to start out in coming from Skyrim!
Honestly excited to see your opinion on Greymoor eventually!
I've been to greymoor a few times. Back when I made Skyrim content on this channel, I recorded some background footage comparing the two zones! Never did the story and probably only explored 30% of the zone but I have seen it! They both feel very different, but I'm a little bias to the Skyrim version of course xD
Can't wait to see your take on Grahtwood. Big time ESO player actually, so its always refreshing to see someone tackle the game.
That's the idea, glad you found it appealing or somewhat unique anyway :)
I do the zone storylines maybe once a year on a new character, just because I enjoy the questing, so to see a new perspective on them was really interesting. I think you did a wonderful job analysing the zone, and the 22 minutes were over so fast! Subscribed for sure :)
I appreciate that, thank you so much :)
@@FrostbreakYT I watched it. Thanks for your efforts. It's now a lot clearer.
Thanks! I already have a video on my channel about Khenarthi's Roost but I appreciate it!
That's a great video series to start, here's a couple of tips:
- You mentioned that you're going to do the main zone quests separately from the side ones to get more accurate time measurements.
@@naidr0x Thanks for all the useful information! That explains a lot :)
I am considering playing ESO for the first time just to do what you’re doing because I love grinds, keep it up man I believe in you!! (Great editing and quality of video btw)
Thanks! Will do!
You’re doing something thousands of us have already done, on multiple characters. However what is massively impressive to the point it blows my mind, you’re doing it in 1st person! Kudos!
1st person is the way to play! I know it's not the best for "real" MMO stuff, but for exploring and story there's no beating it.
This was an amazing video. I absolutely love ESO. Thanks!
When i first started I did a bunch of the story but nowadays I mostly do endgame trials content with a core group.
you asked for input at the end , it was enjoyable to watch, thanks
this is really interesting to watch as someone who has been playing ESO for around 2k hours.
You don't have to re-download the game just for me, but I sure appreciate it! I'm glad you were able to find some aspects to enjoy in the video :)
I'm just now getting into this game with a buddy and we're enjoying it so far. I'm brand new to the genre but I like that it feels slower paced than what I was expecting.
Me too!
I keep checking back waiting for the next episode. As a long time player I’m keen to hear a newbies perspective on the game.
Should be out by the end of the week. These videos take 50+ hours to make and between my real-life they're hard to get out!
Completionists like us are rare to comeby, but I also have that compulsive need xD. Thank you for the kind words!
Baldurs gate 3 is always available, but I also respect that u sit though eso and finished each zone, I’m now tempted to stop my 4th play though of bg3, to play eso
Cannot wait for more of this series. I hope you end up playing through all the zones
That's the idea :)
It's all about adapting to what you want to do!
I really can’t wait to see more! I remember liking the daggerfall covenant zones/plot more but the dominion has some good zones later on
Hopefully I'll get around to that before the end of summer!
That really means a lot. Thank you so much :)
can’t believe i caught this series at its beginning. can’t wait for more!
Awesome!! I think I'll have the 3rd episode out by this weekend (I hope)
This is truly the goal of a mad man. I love the commitment cant wait to see more. ❤
haha thank you
Literally took me about 800 hours just to go from the beginning of the game to the current fully released chapter (at the time, this was pre-High Isle).
Good. Luck. :)
(If you need help, feel free to ask, I'm sure people would be up for helping!)
@@FrostbreakYT so considerate :')
Well done on the video, shocked to see such good content from someone with 3k subs, truly great work my friend keep it up
I had 600 subs a week ago! Thank you for the kind words I very much appreciate it
This series is cool, looking forward to the continued episodes.
Thanks!
Good for you. This is exactly how i got back into eso back in 2021 too! love to see it
Glad to hear it!
Super impressed, I hope you continue this series!! (Although… first person POV is WILD my guy)
What's the problem with first person!! It's how I play skyrim so I figured it'd be the best way xD
