LeMaster Deep Dish Plate Review (Dick Plates)
Do you still have the ab4100 or did you ditch it for this....debating on getting the 4100
I actually have ended up getting rid of the 4100 and this for the getrx bench. Between this and the 4100 I’d go 4100. I prefer a ladder
@strongmandan thx for reply. Is there any issue with stability due to the rear not being wide enough? 20.3 inches on 4100 vs 25.8 on the 3000 2.0 and 5200.2.0.
@@Btbrown-xu2monope. I’ve benched over 450lbs on both.
I appreciate your review and a huge disappointment for me with the Rogue mace is they strongly discourage slams... and I love doing tire slams with my maces! Since yours is a fixed collar can we do slams with the unit you make?
I’d assume so but I haven’t tried it. I’d just say use a sledge for that. Not sure if the plates on the sleeve would be an issue
This is awesome. I might buy one in the future. I wish this was around when I bought my shoulderok in 2017, but at least I only paid $129 back then. I couldn't imagine paying $200+ for a shoulderok in today's market. I can see myself selling the shoulderok and buying this if I become too strong for the shoulderok.
Yeah I think they are ove $200 now once you include shipping
Cool project
Definitely brotha. Super cheap and easy too!
Do you think you should of bought the 15lbs
No because the 15lber is shorter. Anything under 42” is a bulva or club not a mace. The weight comes from the solid steel. The lighter one is like 30”
Debating whether to get this or Rogues mace.
Both good options as long as you get the new rogue mace with the hallow tubing. Don’t get the solid steel one. Or buy mine which is awesome. If price is the main factor the Maverick mace is half the price and is pretty legit.
I started using these on my Kensui Mace and Clubs about 4 weeks ago. Over all I like them. On the wooden handles you get a bit more grip but they hold nicely. thought I have only gone up to 60lbs. I am saving up for one of your loadable maces. One of these days :) Keep it going. I have been enjoying the content!
Appreciate that man. Shoot me a message when you are ready to order and I’ll send you a discount for your kind words
@@strongmandan Thanks man. I'll do that.
For $300 before shipping i would like to see this ready to accept olympic plates that i already own. Jerry rigging spacers and purchasing standard plates makes this fairly undesirable for a lot of people who would be willing to purchase it especially with all of the current competition.
Definitely agree with you. That’s why I made mine. Attitudeiron.com cheaper and made for olympic
That solid handle and gimmicky spinning collar make it a no for me. I regularly swing a fixed weighted 35 lb hollow handle mace. That rogue “mace” would not feel like a mace to me. I think they rushed the gun in order to capitalize on the growing mace community
Totally agree. To be fair they just released a hallow one this week. So interested to do another review.
Mike is the man. Been using him for 5 years
Dude I learned so much working with him
Rogue just released a lighter hollow handle version. Can't wait for a review!
Oh dang! Looks like the 10lb one is the bulva length and the 45” one is 12.5. Currently out of stock but damn if the knurl is better that could be a winner.
That gym is low-key fire 🔥
Appreciate that man! We’ve definitely made improvements since then!
Bought this mace, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it thus far. Great adjustable mace!
Appreciate that man!
I own many maces, and I also ordered a Rogue mace. However, I want to warn everyone that Rogue Fitness has extremely slow shipping. In my opinion, you are better off buying an adjustable mace from Arm Assassin Strength Shop, which is far cheaper ($50) and made out of steel.
Looks good, especially the pommel and knurl.
I digging it for sure. Just sold the last one. Still have a few discounted in stock. Getting another batch made up hopefully by the end of this week
they make kettle bell and heavy heavy handle kit that should work on this
Yeppers! Got some from them and it’s pretty cool
@@strongmandan what is your thoughs about good full ironmaster with new home gym build?
@@kevincloinger3328 go for it! I’d definitely do the dumbbells kettlebell mace and bench. I’m not 100% sold on the rack but it’s an option. They are due to upgrade their vinyl on the bench though
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Legit explanation & review
Appreciate that!
I just got the 15 lb one. I wish I had found your channel and review earlier. I still like it, but you’re right about it not being hollow.
If you still have the package you should be able to return it.
Your audio needs some improvement
Yep. Tried a new mic and it sucks
Get dumbells + a pair of Havak triads, you can still come out ahead financially while having more functionality and zero regret about losing the center mass benefits.
The adjustables only go to like 75 and the fixed weight even lighter. I dig them though but too light
The spinning component could be useful if the weights clip your back as you swing it. The weights would likely roll instead of being solid when they hit.
Possibly but I think that’s a bit of a reach. The spin is t a bad thing it’s just a nearly pointless thing. I’m not sure how much the spin would help as if people hit themselves it doesn’t just stay in contact and roll on you, it bonks you and immediately is off again.
Great video. Looks like a nice mace. Even 10 lb or even 25 lb plates should be fine if using it for 360's or 10 to 2's. The original gada heads are massive, so it can be done. Nice looking mace though. If I didn't already have the adex mace, I'd look into getting yours. Still may one day, if want to go heavier than 50 lbs.
Appreciate the feedback! Adex is a great mace too.
Home depot, get a rubber washer and glue it to the underside of the spindle. I've never had a problem though.
Yep that’s what I ended up doing
This is cool if you already have the dumbbells. I think Adex still rules the roost when it comes to swinging implements though. They have the club, mace, and arc system. The Ironmaster works for a mace, but because of the wide head, they couldn't really make a club that uses the same plates. But it's a great option for folk's with the quick lock dumbbells.
Yep o have similar thoughts. No one beats Adex for clubs. For mace I’d go with mine personally or iron master with the Kensui spacers or 1” plates.
I regularly use my shoulder rok as a club since it breaks apart with 5lb plates without issue
@@BJerrell Interesting. I'm using my adex club between 30 and 40 lbs doing the Mark Wildman 2 hand club program. Several of the exercises come somewhat close to my head, so I would be concerned about a really wide club. But if it works out for you, that's great.
@@BJerrell I'll have to pick one up and check it out. I know for mace work its a bit on the long side but it's the 2.5" of loadable space that makes it less than ideal. Definitely the OG for adjustable maces but it's way behind the curve nowadays. IMO
Could they have made the pommel anymore phallic looking?
lol. Be careful what you ask for
This still doesn't seem to be on their website. Did they decide not to make it anyway?
I’m not sure because I want to buy another one. I’ll be doing reviews on some of their other stuff soon too
I was so excited about this until I realized how heavy it is. I use a shoulderok (8.5lbs) and rarely add more than 5lbs to it. I understand using a steel bar and shaft because they already make those products so it’s a lower barrier to entry into the market. But why didn’t they use an aluminum shaft like their technique bar? This makes no sense. I hope they course correct.
Yeah I didn’t even thing of aluminum. That’s not a bad idea. Might be some bar bend concerns though
11:54 Ouch. Burn. Kicked Rogue right in the nuts with that one.
Pains me to say it but they didn’t same thing with the multigrip bar a year or 2 ago. They are making customers buy a “finished” product to do their r and d. Then putting out the actual finished version
@@strongmandan I really just thought it was funny. And you're not wrong. I work in software. Software companies do the same thing. Definitely should have prototyped to the mace-wielding community first. I'm interested in your variation. Not ready to pull the trigger, but it's on my list. I've never done any kind of mace work but it looks like it would do wonders for my tight shoulders.
That looks good. I enjoy my Kensui mace. Even though I enjoy it, the quality of the wood, the woodwork, and the finish (lack of finish) are all well below the quality of the Kensui club I already had. In fact, the Kensui mace arrived warped. It still works, so I didn't return it. The Kensui is running just over $80 shipped to my place in the northeast USA. I may pick up a Maverick. When I'm handling something again and again, I like it to be and feel very very good. Thank you for the excellent review.
Yeah the Kensui isn’t the worst thing but the Maverick is way better for a not too far off price point
Have you ever strained your tricep doing swings? I did, but I do a lot of other stuff as well, so im not sure if the swings that did it or if swings just pushed it to far. Sort of the straw that broke the Camel's back.
So the majority of my training is powerlifting focused and no I have not strained my triceps on maces or anything now that I think of it. That being said it definitely can happen to people who are newer to swinging. Usually it’s due to not relaxing in the back swing. Your hands have to get down to your neck. If not then all that strain goes to your elblow/ lteiceps instead of your upper back. Hit me with videos of you swinging on my IG and I’ll take a look. Strongman_dan
I don't have Instagram but I think I made a short of me swing let me see if I can put it in the comments.
Looking forward for your review on the attitude mace!
It’s filmed I’ll get it out Sunday as I’m traveling for a competition right now. Fair warning it’s biased AF lol
I took the mace loadable "kettlebell" (that thing that looks like it came from a welding shop floor) and turned into a mace/ club. I bought two post hole digger handles and drilled the holes needed to attach them to the loading sleeve. I cut one to about 18 inches or so and made the club. I emailed Rogue about doing something like this for an official product and never heard back. With the plates loaded on it, its a complete set a kettlebell, mace, and club. I like it! Serves the purpose, fairly light empty and balanced correctly for a mace.
That sounds cool I’d love to see it in action!
So on their website, I do see a 12.5lb version that is supposed to be hollow tubing instead of the solid steel!
@@developyoself5607yep they did that after getting hit by feedback showing I was right. I’d definitely do a follow up review on it. That was a huge fix they did.
I own the Kensui AdjustaMACE. It is the worst purchase I have ever made of any exercise equipment I own-- and I own 4 different home gyms: a basement gym, a garage gym, an extension room gym, and a backyard patio gym. My Kensui AdjustaMACE broke the first time I put weight plates on it. The Kensui AdjustaMACE is made of some unknown smooth wood. It absorbs dirt, sweat, and grime quickly, and it has no knurling whatsoever. IMO, Kensui Fitness should be embarrassed to put its name on its horrible AdjustaMACE.
It’s definitely nowhere near the top of my list. But if you’re a cheap bastard it’s “an” option
We'll have to get you the extra long pin... it's fully threaded, but you can get the mace handle over 90 lbs. Thanks for the in-depth review, Dan! 💪
Nice! I ordered the $42 dollar one that lets it get to 65
Great video just received mine in the mail today. And they do sell longer pins $42
Yep just ordered one. Caps it at 65lbs though. I want one that will go to 100lbs. Definitely a solid option for a mace though. Especially at that price point and even more so if you already have the dumbbells
Yes I agree I have two sets of dumbbells from ironmaster plenty of plates it was a no brainer to pick this mace up.
@@strongmandanhave to use the 165lb DB expansion pins to go heavier
@@BJerrell Yeppers. I got a video of my swinging with that pin up to 75lbs on my IG Love it.
Lol.... Hopefully, people also watch a non-bias review of this instead of someone that is comparing it directly to their own product 😂. They also have a #15.
I spent about 1 minutes in my product option because it’s a direct contrast in what rogue could have done right but just didn’t do any due diligence on 🤷♂️. I have other mace reviews that are direct competitors where I sing their praises. Maverick mace, ck mace, iron master among others. And yes they have a 15lb option but it’s a bulva. It’s 31” so it’s between a club and a mace. They also say it’s designed for flow style workouts. The problem is that flow is typically done in the 10lb range. Rogue pulled a Titan and is relying on paying customers to do the product research for them. If the make the changes I suggested they would have the best option on the market hands down and I’d say so on here.
Like you said at 12:00 - “the things they say are benefits don’t really do anything.” Rogue is good at marketing. Rushing v1 products. Too Wide camber bar. Slinger cable attachment. Knurl issues on cb4. Etc.
It’s a shame. You used to only be able to make fun of Titan for using paying customers for research and development. Rogue is based on the concept of overbuilt and supreme quality. They need to stop this pattern.
@@strongmandanno they don't. Love how overbuilt.
Awesome look at the mace. To bar they missed the mark and I agree that they should beta test with athletes like you more often
I’ll definitely purchase their updated version if they make one.
Rogue messed up! They could’ve done this better!
Excellent review man. Thanks for everything you do. - trainingandrehabfriend
Appreciate that
What about the 31 inch 15 lb?
I personally like maces over clubs. I imagine it has all of the same issues with one additional flaw. Clubs/bulvas are shorter so there are other movements like mills and swipes. In my opinion plate loaded options for clubs are too wide to be used as intended. The Adex club or a fixed weight club option is the way to go for shorter options. That’s why I only make the mace not a mace and club.
Nice review, I was wondering what your thoughts were on this one 💪🏼
So much potential with a few changes.
seems like the only real downside is that it's heavy which isn't a downside for you since you're so strong and skilled. It's the best mace for you, right? I wonder if you had Weigh It Out plates how heavy you could get it with 5s.
Actually no. I prefer a lighter mace as the weight distribution is more to the top. It makes for a different feel in the swing. I have weight it out plates. You could get to 100ish with 5’s. Many people scoff at the price point of those though, unfortunately. They’re amazing plates. I use them most of the time when I am swinging.
I was just about to buy the Rogue mace purely on how much I love their kettlebells, but thankfully saw your review. Your thoughtfulness and honesty sold me on your mace. 20lb+ unloaded is crazy for a mace. Where do I buy your model?
attitudeiron.com/ols/products/attitude-adjustable-mace
That means a lot man.
Great review!!!
Appreciate that. Hopefully rogue sees it and makes some easy changes.
Hey Dan, thank you for your review.

Awesome looking forward to it
hey! Can you safely use the adex plates with the CK Maceworks Cadi Club more? im deciding between the Cadi Club or the adex club, but feel limited with the idea of the diameter of standard plates. I figure the plates from adex fix that solution.
