I understand the gripe about the scag, but everything we buy will not be 100% to our liking. I love my turf tiger 2 but i also know that exmark is top tier. Also having a damn good scag dealer is what also sold me to buy one which is my second turf tiger.
Ray just needs to shut his mush mouth aśś up real talk😂😂😂
easily a $15,000 dollar job. in and out in 3 hours MAX
you sound so stupid! I can take alot but stupid will get u blocked
👍👍
💪💪💪
I am with you Ray I get paid once a month on a few properties and I hate it
its ok for a few but i like to count my dollars
Great topic and thank you for the video sir 👍😎🇺🇸
Ask that guy if he gets that house pressure washed regularly. That rot can occur quickly if someone is slinging bleach and not properly rinsing. It can also happen if they painted/stained it before it was allowed to cure.
@@thedirtywork How much do you think I should charge to do the floor?
@@rayrayslawnlandscape2008 not sure. I don’t do any stripping or staining work.
That's easily a 40k job
Dude, you done bumped your head man. We're not replacing the whole deck just the floor. No way you're charging $40k on a job, that only requires about eight hundred dollars in material at the most! Me and toby could do that job in 3 days at the most.
@@rayrayslawnlandscape2008 hmmm let's do the math. Materials - $800 Labor - 3 days/2 people. daily labor cost of 1 man - $6500/$13,000 for a 2-man crew. $13,000 (Labor) x 3(Days) = $39,000 + $800 materials = $39,800 + $200/ Fuel/lunch/tax/misc. = $40,000 Why do you think I got so rich so quick.
That's easily a 40k job.
okie dokie
Good video Ray on help issues. I think we have a big problem in this country has a whole because people today act like you owe them something. I have watched my son struggle with help issues and I don’t think I could deal with it. This generation has no self discipline or do they have a sense of responsibility to work. I am almost 70 and retired from a chemical plant and help my son almost every day because someone don’t show up. I know someone is going to say he is not paying enough but no amount of money is going to change the lack of responsibility this generation has.
I painted for more than 20 years. Use a pigmented stain that doesn’t put millage (layers) on wood. It’s basically a dye in the stain, it fades even without blistering. Today’s pressure treated wood is approximately 17% moist which is too moist to put paint on. Many parts of that deck was too moist when painted that’s why it blistered its not the acrylic . Never prime an area you will walk on , it makes the final coat lay on top and moves when foot traffic is on it. You need a wood that is 12% moist or lower to prevent blistering but good luck finding it. That whole deck is toast! Acrylics make the paint more flexible and allow for more wood expansion and shrinkage without cracking, the best description would be more rubbery and flexible. Don’t paint pressure treated wood.
Thanks for the knowledge man.Because i've never seen anything like that before. But the pressure treated eventually dry out some right. Whenever we built them we used to tell them to wait at least thirty days before you do any kind of stain
💪🏻
Hey Ray Ray Great video 😊 yea having multiple skills or able to do other projects other than lawn care is a good thing. In my opinion make sure the other jobs you do you enjoy and you are able to do it good. Keep up the great work that you do. Take care Ray Ray and God Bless
Hey Ray Ray Great video 😊 I getting some help now. Everything in our industry is a balancing act. Kinda like dealing with the weather 😊 Happy that Toby is on your team did you hear from Francisco? If you get him back you got your lawn care crew 😊😊😊 Take care Ray Ray and God Bless
Solo is so much less stressful but it’s not fun when you can’t take a day off or go on summer vacation.. With a crew you get a lot of headache but more money and more flexibility. The other issue is keeping a good employee employed through the off season. I’ve been very blessed with you guys who will work. I only have them a few years though.
do they make fiber cement deck boards
Yes
good help is hard to find
Replace the floor with Trex , he’ll never have to worry about it again
Aint strong enough for heavyarse trex. Know something before you comment. 12inch center and 2x12 joist. Here is your sign. 🤡
I seen the other videos you mentioned. Seems to be a hot topic, I think people get in trouble trying to hire and hustle for the work to support it. I see it all the time here, this work is also the type where you train/teach someone and now you created a competitor.
Good point
Solo is the only way
Yeah that’s definitely going to be $6500+ depending. I’d jump on that .
I honestly believe if your gonna go the employee route you need you and two more guys or gals. So a three man crew!! My thinking is if one decides to be the call off guy you can still get the work done. If they become reliable then you can probably add another truck and hire two more guys. I feel that’s how to grow and expand it can’t happen with one guy. Has to be two until you get consistency!!
Yes This season was mostly dedicated to getting toby to where he knows all the properties and everything. If he can hang on , a lot of good things will be happening next year. We will have so much more time To do other stuff , And I could do some marketing
If the money is right. I would be all over this.
@brandonhyden9454 prolly around $4k and they provide dumpster
You need deck paint with moisture barrier
Moisture barrier deck paint cost $120 a gallon
8500
8500 is just for the floor
If you’re a guy does 70% the way you do it you’ve got a great deal
Oh he does better than that . He is really good
Finding good help and keeping them is the hardest part of owning a business imo. I’am only part time landscaper but I see this in the corporate world too. Solo, the way to go.
You can make the shift to Landscaping/Hardscaping and weed out the Lawn Maintenance. You'd easily double your profits. Or do more Tree work, you have a lift.
@addamjenkins75 true but I want the lawn money tool lol
Ray!!
@@rannorris79 who invited you in the comments? 😆
Worst decision I made was hiring guys I was much happier solo , I got one guy that lives to break/lose equipment another that makes his own time to show up and another that is broke by Monday and looking for handouts all week long its not worth it stay solo save yourself the headache
1st let's go ray! Time to turn on the big screen and watch on the porch.
I another one im editing now
Wat the no 3 point turn
@@davidcocanougher2722 3 pt turn is way overrated
Nice work and thank you for the video sir 👍😎🇺🇸
My favorite video was when bo was getting attacked by spiders and just walked off.
Nice job I really need to get a bagger. Saves so much time other than emptying it.
Hey Ray Ray great video 😊 great job on the lawn 😊😊😊 take care Ray Ray and God Bless
Ray do you normally use a weedeater with the guard on?
That looks like my gas pump filling up my 250 with diesel
💪🏻
You can get a mulching blocker for that deck
It’s not gonna clump up
I use a 30 X and I have the mulch blocker kit without the baffles… it just takes me a little bit longer to cut, but I do one no double cut
Hey Ray, I would put the 30 inch on that yard with the shute blocker on
How many people you buying fuel for dam Ray Ray … 😂🤣
Mmm. I’m 6’2” and my TT2 fits me nice. We went from five Toros to two new Scags. Toro was great but it’s been a nice upgrade for me.
I use unleaded 87
@ChadR13 yes in the truck and mowers with a additive
I’am very interested in shoot blocker for my Wright. What are some of the pros and cons of the blocker? Ty in advance y’all.
Y’ALL SEE! Good video pimp! 👊🏼
Ray you really do need a shoot blocker. I no you use your mower when possible to blow off as we do. You would be amazed how much it helps when blowing off driveways and curb lines with the blocker closed. I know that doesn’t sound right but try it. Blocker closed going forward and open if backing up.
@@user-it2ve6vm5o your right. I'm gonna get one
I used to have accelerated bagger, very handy to have
