That 40hp vanguard motor is a beast, just forget it cuz everything you get on after that will feel slow. Keep hustling, we doing the same in the Midwest.
Vertex X 72 you cut properties as small as the mower can fit in the space if you have a mulch blocker …. The engine is mounted to the deck and moves with the belt so there’s no deflection issues. Only minimal….. I like the wright standard ZK3

You tried taking spark arrestor screen out? That takes 2 minutes and will make a ton of difference on how it runs, it acts like carb but if you take that spark arrestor out at exhaust you will tell a world of difference
@@rayrayslawnlandscape2008 Taking that screen out will save you alot of headaches, I’ve been through same thing you going through one time, then after replacing carburetor, and it still didn’t run right I researched deeper, took it out and it ran like a champ, hopefully that’s all you have to do, save yourself $100 or so 🤷🏻♂️

I just bought a Spartan kgz 61 inch deck with the 40hp vanguard. It cost me 19 thousand but man it was worth it

You dont need a 72 Scag stander. You gotta save up for a mini ex or definitely pay off the house.
I sharpen my blades at least once a week or else they'll be like butter knives lol.
That’s actually what it’s supposed to feel like is a butter knife
And maybe 2 mm sickness.. that’s a reference for edge thickness of the blade
