1. In case of Tommy Gun we should give it +30ft (from 90 to 120), not +20. Commenting for algorithm. Yeah a lot of weapons need balancing to make more desirable. AR having more ammo is a major improvement that would make it competitive. I would say 80 rnds though because I have a quad AR and honestly that is enough on its own to wreck. Honestly quad is OP I was running around with quad pipe rifle for a while just because. They really need to make harder content too, its just not challenging. I used to do daily ops because trying to solo them was the only challenging thing I could find. Eventually I started doing it with black powder rifle just to make it harder and still able to solo elder rank. The only other hard content is trying to solo bosses but thats really just about having high damage and shooting a sponge for ten minutes which I dont really care for. Enemies kinda suck too and arent consistent. For example everyone thinks super mutants are armored, but they arent in the world, only event ones like eviction notice are, which means for 90% of gameplay just run around with aristocrats or bloody (if you love micro managing) or quad for ez mode. Would love to see free aim crits based on player skill in shooting weak points. Tired of relying on Vats because its only way to get best damage performance.
Thanks! We'll see how Raids gonna challenge us. It's harder than d.ops and expeditions. Buffing base damage will make us more squishy, so here you have increased difficulty by 1% :) Mutated EN is fun to solo or even do it as a team of 2. We need more content like this.
My only beef is it doesn't matter how good the AR balance is, the railway requires only steel to get ammo so braindead gameplay will always be rewarded with this cutie. Other weapons have it easy sure but you need some planning to keep the party going. With a Q2525 Railway, gunsmith +5 and a civ engineer set ? Your 5 years old son could melt this game.
And that is why we need NW back or even PVE hardcore events, Raids actually are more challenging, so probably we are heading towards more interesting stuff. I think Beth would be able to implement some typical PvP matches. I wish we could have clan wars / defend base / catch the flag scenarios.
I'm still baffled by people playing a fallout game who refuse to grasp that VATS is canonically SUPPOSED to give you a significant advantage. It's the edge that makes it possible for the Vault Dwellers to be able to murder three quarters of any given Wasteland despite rarely having any actual combat experience prior to emerging, blinking and shivering, from their corporate hidey-holes. I mean, fallout 76 isn't exactly a difficult game. If you want to make it more of a challenge by refusing to use VATS, that's great, well done and everything, but why are you THEN demanding not using VATS be made more powerful? It's a line of thinking that makes no sense in a Fallout game, and seems to stem from annoyance that your deliberate choice to make the game more challenging has, surprise surprise, made the game more challenging.
Canonically SUPPOSED to give you a significant advantage? First off, there is no actual lore, explaining for what exactly reason we can contol projectiles while they are flying towards our targets, there is no lore behind ur statement. tf we are allowed to deal double or even quadruple damage? From wiki: "Background. Although known to be a product of the Vault-Tec Corporation, *the developmental origins of this advanced combat technology have been lost to time*.[1] However, it was available to the Pioneer Scouts and their parents, in the event their parents became inebriated and could not aim correctly.[2]" So there is no explanation how this pip-boy feature actually works and I want to know how my self-guided lead balls actually de their job. Bethesda only adapted / changed its functionality cuz there is a BIG difference between VATS in Fo3 and VATS in Fo4. Do you know that projectiles actually follows ur target no matter where and how fast it goes? Do you know that in Fo3 it worked differently? Second, I am talking about balancing, I give no duck about how everyone is playing the game, and I am not critizing anyone for using auto-aim. I DO NOT want to make it more challenging by refusing to use VATS, I just want to have auto-aim as an option, not as THE ONLY way to play this game, bcz of a huge combat advantage. Third, why exactly is it bad to allow people doing more damage out of VATS? And not for free, but for hitting a weak point. Actually there were some adjustments already, but mostly nerfing, so no one liked it and Beth had to back down and scratched out this new adjustement.
@@VladArmstrong_EN It's literally called the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System. Also, the reason it becomes so powerful is because of perk cards. It's not actually that great unless you've spent quite a lot of points, particularly in Luck, optimising it. I'm working on a new character atm, and in the early game, VATS is no fun at all. My other Character is a Bloodied Rifleman build, and while I can get more damage in VATS, I prefer to snipe.I don't understand why people are so obsessed with DPS, when we can create multiple characters and try multiple different styles, all of which can be fun. Maybe the game needs more perk cards that favour damage bonuses for free aiming. I'd certainly support that, but I certainly don't hold with this notion that there's only one way to play the game due to the damage advantage of VATS. That's falling into the old trap that only damage matters. One of the funniest events I played recently, for example, we had about three guys turn up with cold shoulders, and were just running around crippling everything. It made the event that much easier, and I'm pretty certain they were all free-aiming, from what I saw. People just need to stop seeing themselves as the hero, and stop counting numbers, when there's much more interesting ways to play if you bother to try.
@@peterclarke7240 VATS still has no lore behind it and that is my point. Everything comes down to a fancy game mechanic that has no reason to be THAT OP. Beth nerfed VATS in one of previous iterations of PTS and received a negative reaction. I think they should level everything and then silently increase HP of enemies, so the game will be more balanced and less noob friendly. Do we need more perk cards? Probably yes, but first we need to make work what we already have. Once again, I am totally fine with how everyone plays the game. You do you and I will keep suggesting what I think is the best, cuz some of my suggestions can/will be considered as good ones.
I still dont think everything gun should be equally viable however one approach of balancing and circumventing that I really like is adding interesting unique variants of those underperforming weapons. For example for pipe weapons bethesda could add one or multiple rare legendary variants that fix the problems of them and make them stand out more. Bethesda could even connect some lore to them like for example in case of a pipe weapon maybe someone tried to squeeze in some tech which actually worked out or something, I dont know. Those legendary variants should also be customizable with legendary and normal mods of course. What do you think of that?
Well. It would have been a great option before legendary crafting was introduced, let alone making ur god roll now. Named pew pews just gonna disbalance the game if they are way better than OGs. As for me, named weps should have buff/debuff combos like faster fire rate and lower damage per hit or even unique buffs (+ elemental type of damage) with unique debuff (lowers ur resistances for example or makes server crash).
@@VladArmstrong_EN Ok thats fair. Do you expect bethesda to do a major rebalance one day or is it more likely that they will do slight adjustments here and there and see what happens?
@@dynastyjumpzz Well, they rely on our tests and overall opinion of the community. And it really depends on how many players care about rebalancing. We used to struggle to get just ONE ANY bloody pew pew. God rolls were rare and the whole game was about grinding the best gear. So, crap weapons were just to fill drop pool and make our lives harder. I have been vocal about all this stupidity and nonsense legendary mods for like 5 years. So... I think they gonna make some moves, including big ones, with a lot of changes, and see our reaction. As for now, they do these moves randomly without even thinking.
This are great ideas. More weapons should be more desirable. I think silenced ballistic weapons should be weak or have very high AP costs. Free-aiming should 2.5x stronger than VATS shots.
I think the best approach to nerf weapons would be giving more HP to enemies and reworking Follow Through & TOFTT. x1.4 is too much. First they should adjust all dps separately for each class and then between classes. Of cuz Single Fire and Automatic Fire mods just can't have the same DPS, but damage per hit should be way more impactful. Free-aiming indeed should be THAT stronger.
How can you balance VATS and free aim when VATS isn't free to use... In fact, some weapons make it practically impossible to use VATS... VATS is already at a huge disadvantage. And then there are the perk cards.
VATS is at a huge disadvantage? How? What weapons are impossible to use in VATS? You can even auto-aim with throwable weapons, let alone heavies with decreased AP cost. Shotties are literally shine only in VATS. Speaking of perks, look.. you will get +60% of base damage by occupying 9 points of perception, while Better Criticals will give u +100% of base damage by occupying only 3 points of luck. You will get +100% of base damage JUST for pressing 2 buttons (vats + crit). It is unfair, stupid and should be changed. The only skill-related way to reduce the difference between free-aim 160% (9 STAT points) and auto-aim 360% every second shot (15 STAT points cuz u need "Critical Savyy" as well) is by giving x2 base damage for hitting a weak point. So we'll have roughly 640% per 2 shots (free aim) vs 520% per 2 shots (auto-aim) Add here +100% for blight soup, +100% for magazine, +50% for tweaked receiver and ur VATS is the best. sorry for possible typos.
"VATS is a huge disadvantage" KEKW. Free auto-aim, target acquisition, tracking and recoil control. ACCESS TO CRITS. Non-vats weapons don't even crit! Crits to my knowledge still bypass armor resulting in 10-12 TIMES the DPS of non-VATS weapons against bosses.

VATS is available to everyone, so if you choose to not use it, that's on you. If it's so OP, then why not use it? How about this... Full health players should get the same DPS and perks as bloodied players, because, why not.. Balance.
