My Mom once dated a man in prison. She used to drive up the coast to visit him. When he got released he moved in with my family. It was a bad situation. He was physically abusive towards my Mom. And, he started sniffing after me. For my sixteenth birthday he bought my some underwear. I told my Mom how uncomfortable I was with that. One day when I was napping on the couch he kissed me full on the mouth. I let my Mom know what he did. She kicked him out. One day he called to talk to me on the phone and tried to apologize. My Mom heard the whole conversation on the other phone.
If all that weren't bad enough, that man was dealing pot from our house. One day when my Mom was out, he and his friend was cleaning a whole lot of weed on my Mom's kitchen table.
There's a happy ending to this terrible tale, my Mom went on to getting her BS RN degree.

He eventually ghosted her. She was devastated. Much later she was at a gathering with people who knew him, and they said he was gay. What a slap in the face.

    U are correct Ms Faye!
In my early 20s I remained friends with someone who went to prison.
We dated in HS, but after that it was just strictly friendship and nothing more. We had a lot of friends in the same circle .
He never asked me to be there for him , I did it out the kindness of my heart bc that’s what I would want if someone called me a friend.
I didn’t do anything above and beyond, I simply wrote him , visited on occasion not often, and once in s blue moon put money on his books.
He came out and IMO dogged TF out of me.
I went through a mild depression bc I couldn’t understand how a friend would react like that towards someone who was kind.
I can’t imagine if we were in a relationship and he came out and did me that way , who knows I’d probably be the one in prison now 😂
So yeah, leave these men alone. Let their mamas visit them and be there for them , bc they won’t appreciate you at all.

Oh my goodness a great subject for me to share to many women. I was on the the Chaplaincy Advisor Council of Michigan Department of Correction which took me to be a part of the various prisons and camp. I tried to teach women all about everything you're saying. The women not only date but marry those men while in prison , which I try my best to advise an absolutely NO !!!! Yes Women listen to this!!! They come out and many times leave that so-called wife for other women. The women are so hurt because of their investments, time and energy. I am going to share share share.

They also leave for the other man. My ex's brother was in jail since forever. He met a woman who took care of him and when he got out moved in with her and her children. She came home from work and he was laying up in their bed with his prison "wife" who had recently gotten out. He fully expected her to take care of them both and caught an attitude about it. She called my dude and was crying her eyes out. My dude told her to put them out and find someone else!

Strong self-sufficient woman is fully aware of that that has been her career working with people like that in the local government and she just so happens to meet somebody like that eventually by total I hate the word coincidence but by chance and you guys hit it off and start speaking almost all day every day and you have the time opportunity to really get to know each other and the person’s been down for 23 years and he’s at the door just a couple months after you meet them is it still a bad idea to get to know them I’m self-sufficient I don’t need anybody and I did everything possible to push them away once I started catching feelings I want him to know that but right away he sent me 2000 longstem roses directly from my friends shop in Columbia and we live in California but he decided to support my friends shop in Columbia he sent me a teddy bear that says that I am the one and then after that he sent me these really expensive chocolate covered strawberries and he said so many that I could share with all of my family he’s never asked me for anything he doesn’t need to he has plenty of money he’s never asked me for anything not even a visit he’s super patient with me and Rose where I stand I’m very solid with my boundaries somebody give me some advice he gets out in November and as much as I feel like I’m falling for him I still have my guard up however he is amazing he’s an amazing human being he’s highly educated he’s never done drugs I totally researched him as a government employee myself never in 1 million years did I ever think I would be in this situation this was totally by chance because my younger cousin was talking to somebody inside and she was FaceTime in and I was talking stuff in the background and he overheard and her man and there was like hey don’t judge and I was like how could I charge I help everybody in my community this is what I do I work with people that just got out I help them get free vocational training etc. I could never judge I love working with people who start from the bottom up that everybody tries to tear them down I see the good in everybody and then all of a sudden this guy put himself in front of the FaceTime video and I’m a woman who never shuts up I am the most confident strong woman ever and when I saw his face it wasn’t because of physical attraction it was some thing about him that made me stay quiet and that has never happened in my life that made me put my face down into the pillow and I could hardly make iContact and it’s been a few months now and I’m in love like I said he wants nothing from me he doesn’t need me I don’t need him we just enjoy each other‘s company and he’s out the door in two months he has everything set for himself somebody tell me am I doing something wrong and if I am I have no problem I’m waiting for that red flag because I’m one of those people I don’t need more than one I’m out all I need is one and I’m out I’m not a dumb girl one red flag I’m done I’m too old for that I’ve been through too much after being married for 23 years to the wrong person I’m done. I should also add I have never heard him swear I’ve researched him because I have that advantage to do so I did all of his prime I’ve read his records I’ve seen his mug shot because I’m privy to that I know his crime inside and out he’s never done drugs he doesn’t even smoke cigarettes I know all about him I know his entire record inside while he’s done the past 23 years I know about his two children and his grandbabies I know where they live I know everything that’s the beauty of working for where I work I didn’t have to search my fellow government employees when they found out when I disclose to them who I was talking to starting with my daughter she overheard she start researching and she found him in the media on news That he saved a woman’s life last year when he was at fire camp and they were working outside and this woman was getting murdered by being stabbed to death and he ran it and rescued her and save her life and unfortunately a police officer it was his first day he was panicking didn’t know what to do and the man that I am talking to and he saved her life he went after that man stopped him from stabbing her to go die for way assault him just enough to get him some dude literally the CEO threw his handcuffs at him and said cut him off because he was too afraid to even intervene he’s never been experienced with that by the time the cops showed up the cop that was his first they didn’t know how to properly provide medical attention to the gal but my guy did I and he put a tourniquet where can you be an applied pressure to the proper wounds until the ambulance got there he saved her life she would be dead if it were not for the men that I am now with and speaking to I don’t visit him and I will not visit him and that I am taking these months to get to know him on an intellectual level I will not visit him while he is in there he comes home in November I will be picking him up and at that point we will go out to eat we will spend time together and then I will take him where he needs to go and after that we will get to know each other more outside and if it progresses and I see how well he is doing then I will move forward I don’t fall for words but he is amazing and I’m very proud of him and I believe in him and I encourage him and I have given him tons of resources thankfully I have that at my disposal through the government and it’s a bit of a different situation with us he’s been awarded special honors in California because of what he did him into other inmates and also to officers and the EMTs it’s all over the news in the Internet actually filed for clemency for him however he’s so close to the gate he’s not gonna get that before leaving so in our situation I would love some feedback I’ve never been in this situation before I’ve only been married to my first love for 23 years I’ve been separated since 2011 legally the only reason why we never totally finished our divorce is because we owned so many properties and it’s much easier for us to keep each other on our medical insurance and our living trust for our children and should I die first or he dies first we can still keep all our properties for our children it’s very easy to intertwine things he’s not with anybody I’ve not been with anybody for years but now things are changing and should this person and I proceed then we can revisit that however he knows exactly where I stand I’ve been legally separated since 2011 I don’t date I don’t go out I take care of my family I continue to keep building best for them and so does my ex we barely speak except when it comes to the children and investments for them that is all he has his own new significant other who hates the fact that he won’t marry her but it is what it is we care more about what is best for our children and this man understands it as well I have a lot of health issues I need his insurance it’s phenomenal I have a lot of specialist taking care of me I had to retire early so our situation is very special however I don’t give a shit about a real divorce I give a shit about if we really move forward having commitment ceremony because back in the day you don’t have to file paperwork with the county clerk you could be somebody’s wife by being somebody’s wife and that is it I could file legal paperwork that he could have everything that I own but right now it belongs to my first son everything legally my living well my trust all goes to my first son not my ex-husband and if by God for bid my first son passes before me it goes to his godmother and my ex-husband signed off on all of it so there’s nothing he can do to contest it so this situation is different let me know your stance on that this is exceptional I’m not a dumb woman. I will certainly am not going to put at risk all the houses that we own together that are in the living trust for our five children together no way in hell can a new person come in and take what we have worked so hard for I’ve known him since I was 16 married at 18 and we busted our asses especially me he was a stay at home dad for a few years when he got laid off from the city and took care of our three little ones as best he could while I was at work. Then I left I couldn’t take it anymore and he stayed with my house in my name and I offered to give it to him I didn’t give a shit but he refused to pay the lousy $900 mortgage because I put so many hundreds of thousand dollars down of my money But he’s from Mexico and I’m gonna tell you right now those stereotypes nine times out of 10 are true but this time no Mexican this beautiful black man 6 foot two takes care of his self lifts weights probably can pick my fluffy ass up it doesn’t matter to me I don’t look at him like a sexual being I look at him like my intellectual partner he enlightens me and vice versa we read intellectual books together and people have no idea how different this is. His sister that he is super close with already knows me we are only in contact I love her I love her

Ladies! Ms. Faye is correct. Please pay attention!!!. I want to say the following as kind and thoughtful as possible. I worked in corrections for 10 years; further, I worked in a male classification center and I just want emphasize, a portion of new arrivals into the prison system can be violated and it does not take a year. Unfortunately, violations can occur within a week or less. Sometimes this activity becomes a life-style for some. Imagine the shock when his dual life-style is finally discovered. However, I want to clarify all incarcerated men do not encounter such activity, but, it occurs more often than one may think. His physical demeanor doesn't always display the facts. Everyone deserves a second chance; however, I would not consider dating a man who has been in prison for obvious reason I just discussed. Of course, that is a personal choice for everyone. Thank you Ms. Faye for bringing this topic to the fore-front of conversations.

My father and uncle were professional jailbirds. I learned very young what type of males to avoid which were ones like them. I watched them mistreat BW in every way possible that you can think of. My uncle had several women at all times in and out of prison. Those women knew about each other too. They "knew their place" as he would say. His main woman was with him ever since he was 15 yrs old and she was 20 yrs old until his death in his 40s (he presented as older in appearance than he actually was and lied about his age too, he hung out with the adult males) was listed as his sister on his visitation list for prison so that his other women could come to visit him as his wife or whatever.
He was never married to any of them either. The main woman was pregnant with his child early on but the child died as an infant. He would beat, bite her, and threaten her when she wanted to leave. I tried to intervene once as a child because what he was doing to her was wrong and it hurt me to see. He hit me too and dragged her out of my grandparent's house. I honestly believe he was psychotic. I didn't fear him, I disliked him though along with my father.
My uncle never worked a day in his life but always had the best of everything with cars, trucks, clothing, shoes, cologne, money in his pockets etc... The women bought and paid for everything along with my grandparents. They would send him care packages in prison from the list of things he would tell them he wanted. He stayed sugar sharp just like a pimp. He even had manicured long nails and what our people call "a good grade of hair (black, thick, wavy, and long when he let it grow out)" beautiful brown flawless skin with a well-groomed beard. He wasn't scared of anybody male or female. He jumped on males just like he did women. He was the devil in the flesh and a complete menace.

Now imagine the pushback in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's etc. I grew up in the 90's and in 2021- present times I have had old and younger BW get mad when I tell them my preferences for males or thoughts on having kids. Totally agree! It's all true! Bcuz I've seen lots of examples of it up close over the years, from my childhood on up through out my adult years. I never went with a guy who been in jail, but seen lots of women who did and seen how it goes up close. So all that you've said is spot on Ms. Faye! These women support them with money, goes to visit and so on, and when these guys get out they are not true to that woman.
And the reason women goes for incarcerated men has to do with wanting a man to stay. Women want steady companionship and know that a lot of men are not candidates for that bcuz they want to hang out and run wild with their friends and what not. So, they dig at the bottom of the barrel or pudding cup, for a man who has nothing and nowhere to go, and also shut out from society as an ex con, bcuz they see it as an opportunity for him to stay. He'll stay if he has nothing and nowhere to go. That's the real reason women flock to prisons looking for a man.

@@aarongray1981 It depends on how a man approaches and communicates with a woman. In my experience, I found that men, the stable men as you say, I don’t consider, and live celibate, bcuz of the way they approach. In a shallow way. The shell of a woman, and not the actual woman herself as a person is his why they approach. Having no intention on getting to know her, and expects to get with her automatically. And offers to spend money. To buy her something. To get this automatic getting together going. Using money to speak for them. That’s how they communicate. With their wallet.
And many women refuse, bcuz after some experience in the world of men, women learn to distinguish the difference between real and shallow. Seeing that men are not truly interested and expect women to be auto-responsive to them. Like, if I throw out a cue she’s supposed to grab it and choose me. And, “he’s just another waste of time.” Is what women think. So, stable men must learn to demonstrate being stable and show a real interest in a woman. Not just expecting quick, autopilot behavior.

As a legal professional, I would also caution women & others in general about even supporting prisoners with things like mobile phones & other restricted items. You could become involved in a federal crime surrounding that type of supply. Items like cell phones, etc., are every day items to us here in the outside world, but they could be considered contraband to a federal or regular prisoner.

This attraction by women to prison inmates has been studied by various learned researchers, & yet this phenomenon can't be reasonably explained. My sister worked in a maximum security prison & looked after many notorious & gruesome psychopathic serial killers, violent rapists, repeat child molesters etc. The more horrific the crimes, the more the women went after them. Mail by the sackful, driving hundreds of miles to meet them, wanting to marry them and have their babies. These women were mostly well-educated with a profession, had a good income & lived a comfortable lifestyle. Quite often in the helping professions. Just puzzling to many. Hope your advice saves a few women from disaster. ❤

If I had to sum up the attraction for prison inmates. It begins with a woman feeling sorry for them and being fascinated by them. Prison men have a certain allure to them that the average regular man on the street just don't have. It's really no different with men who find themselves attracted and involve with strippers and prostitutes. A woman whose nice, respectable, goes to church, works a decent job, educated ect. are simply boring. Same thing when it comes to women and the hard working nice guy - boring.

I think it's important to realize a man who hates particular women, hates all women. He just has not deeply examined his real issues with women. Some do have preferences and that's fair, but often this is in alignment with the relationship they have with the women in their families and how they feel in their own lives and the investment they have made into themselves. When they genuinely have preferences, they don't need to put any group down. Thry have internal peace and gice peace to others. It's very clear to see. Always know that how he treats one women is how he will treat all women. It's that simple. You don't want a man who isn't deep enough to encompass an indepth understanding of the value of a woman, period. Its not that deep. These men are broken and running. Let them run and know that they will leave a trail of tears and collateral damage. There are healthier men to choose from. Focus on the kind of man you mirror.

Most of them think low of any woman needing to settle for somebody locked up and doesn't value herself so he figures nobody in the outside world does either. Some of them are making more money a week than free men because they're hustling so many women AND MEN at the same time that you'll never know about.

I came from abusive relationships and felt nothing wrong with being with this man I knew as kids but didn’t get to know the person he grew up to be he had me mentally and because I been celibate for years I felt safe he even went so far to say he would give me a kidney or a heart transplant if I needed it in my heart I was like aww but in my head I knew better he wants me to throw my life away tryna rush getting married and has 7 years left I’m about to leave I have kids he has kids and he now wants me not only to support him financially saying he can help with money too but empty promises to get what he wants psychological mind games and I feel like this is a whole nother level of abuse so thank you mama Faye ❤❤❤I’m definitely leaving and I felt like he could be doing things desperately for things he wants in prison

Don’t let your man lie to you .. talking about I didn’t have sex with no man ! The guys in prison {2or3} will literally hold down the new comer’s n have sex with them in the beginning ! Eventually they get conditioned.. the abuser offer protection, food , snacks , affection etc. Plus when they come home .. they began to desire your son’s!!

    • @roses4me451
      @roses4me451 ปีที่แล้ว +2

NO LIE! A male correction officer of 20 years said it best: "Ladies, DO NOT believe the lies men tell you when they first get in prison "I held on to my manhood". He said within 2 weeks, he is either "serving or being served." He is watching too much "action" going on around him to not want to participate. Doesn't matter if he's single or married.

I've Never and Never Will Friend, Date, Marry or anything else with anyone incarcerated... I could never understand how a few of my friends, family members, colleagues church members would even do this... It's sad to see our women so desperate just to have someone in their lives... Smh

    • @lovenotes5533
      @lovenotes5533 ปีที่แล้ว

It's not always about women being desperate. It's more about being fascinated by men in prison. Prison men have a certain allure to them that the average man on the street just doesn't possess.

Miss Faye...tell the lady who sent the letter...to request the court document numbers of that civil case because she has a friend who is an attorney and can help him with his case. If he says it's not public documents, he's lying. He may say "ok" and then she will never hear from him again. Ask for the people's names who he is in this civil case with. Ask what is the name of the court where the case is being adjudicated. He may continue to give excuses why he can't give her any of the civil case document numbers or info to stall her out. There you go, she has her answer. A flat out liar!

  • @magpieeye3239

About the last letter. Why hasn't he divorced his wife? They have been together for 8 years and he's only separated? I don't believe he loves her at all, even with all the money he has spent on her. Some women like to hear "I love you" it makes them feel special and secure and it's just nice to hear the words once in awhile. I have a gut feeling he's still somehow involved with his wife on some level maybe because he would lose a lot in a divorce. Also, she can't be his woman, he's married! I agree she needs to break it off completely, she certainly doesn't deserve a controlling still married man. How do I know this? Because I could have written that letter myself! (but I didn't) Exact same situation I was in for 10 years also! I would advise a woman who is "dating" or a better word would be "seeing" a separated man is give them a time limit on when they need to be divorced by and if he still hasn't budged when that time is up it's time to make a decision about the relationship. There's something fishy going on there.

The woman who been with (the married) man for 8 years and he’s NEVER said he loves her…then he don’t. When a man really loves you..he WILL verbally say so. The gifts don’t mean anything. A man with money can buy several woman gifts AT THE SAME time and still not love them. He may only have love for his wife. This side woman needs to break it off with him at this point.

I have a now-ex-female friend who is constantly dating men in prison. She was a very attractive, although mentally and emotionally damaged woman. She even married a man who was incarcerated at the Vacaville Medical Correctional Facility [for the crazies] for sexual assault, and was doing a 3-year sentence! The saving grace was that his family was well-to-do. Initially, she misrepresented to me that a female cousin of hers was incarcerated, and she had me take her all the way up there from San jose, CA, to visit her / him.
