Jay I just wanted to thank you and your team at Volunteer Audio. I installed the Soundstream with the Precision Power amp and 6.5 speaker. The installation was super easy, thanks to your videos and the instructions that came with the unit. I had a problem with the unit about two or three weeks after the installation (ii was due to the bike not the audio system). I called the tech support people and spoke with a lady (Sorry I can't remember her name). She was great. I followed her installation and my bike's system is up and running. Great folks at Volunteer Audio. Keep up the Awesome Job!!!
My harness doesn't have a place to plug in the thumb control module. Do I keep my old haeness and plug it into the amp harness? Also, my amp harness has a plug that looks like it's for the backbone. Do I plug it there or to the factory rear speaker plug?
We no longer build the radio harness into the amp harness because soundstream offers multiple radios with different modules, plug the radio harness into the radio, amp harness plugs between radio harness and factory plug, use the supplied backbone connector on the amp harness
Great video! My question is… where does the back bone harness connect up front for the rear speakers? I have a 2014 ultra limited with fairing, tour pac, and cut in rear speakers. Waiting on the hertz amp from y’all to be delivered today! In watching your videos looks like I should’ve rented the techno tool to flash my stick radio as well. Oops! Next on the list! Thanks!
We add the backbone connector to our plug n play amp harness for this very reason. Yes you must flash the stock radio as well before playing the amplifier or you will blow your speakers
@@volunteeraudio one more question… I have the amp installed now but, in order to flash the radio I will need to take it to a friends house to use his PC. Will it be ok to ride the bike to his house without doing the flash beforehand? Didn’t think about that part til after the fact.
have a 16 electra, getting a radio COM error, deck isnt powering up, the amp is though. Getting power via the 12V constant but dont seem to be getting any power through the accessory wire, if Im doing it right. Any tips? And just to confirm, yellow is constant, red is accessory, correct? the only other 2 wires is the black ground a an unknown purple i believe, going to the radio harness/plug
Jay thanks for this video. My wiring works but I’m gonna go back and relocate my wiring to make it look like the way you did it. It looks more neat and clean like this. There is not a lot of extra room for wiring in the Street Glide like there is on the Road Glide.🫡
Hey Jay! Great videos and knowledge of Harley audio! Question, I have a 2014 ultra limited. I have replaced the fairing speakers along with the tour pac speakers using the hertz sx165 and sv165 neos. I’m getting ready to install the sx690 speakers in the bags. I am currently running factory radio. When I can afford the hertz amp, I will be purchasing it from you. Is it possible to have the bag speakers along with the fairing and tour pac speakers all play without an amp? Thanks!
i recently purchased your stage 4 hertz speaker and amp package and I am planning to upgrade the radio to the sound stream at a later date . Will i be able to remove the hertz amp to get at the screws underneath it to remove the factory radio?
I have a question, I installed the 600 watt amp in my 2021 street glide with factory radio . If memory serves me correct there was a wire in the harness that I could not find a plug for it, it was either blue or purple I cannot exactly remember the color. My big complaint after installing the amp was to me it wasn't any louder that the radio.... my question is is there a single wire in the harness you supplied that doesn't get connected... maybe that's why it isn't loud...
@volunteeraudio I did buy from you guys, I will have to call when I take the ferring cover off, just want to make sure I call out the correct wire. Thank you

Fir sure there is not much room, take your time and secure the wiring with zip ties as you go

I would suggest waiting until you have the amp but yes they will play if connected

Yes
If I disconnect the power from the amp, will I still be able to hear sound?
