No need as heat shrink is to keep water out, crimping them tighter keeps them from coming loose without introducing a lot of heat right at the terminals
@@volunteeraudio I've looked all over for video of speaker wall comparison.. Which speakers that you offer deliver the best bass? Which speakers would be best for country, 80's hair bands with some classic rock and Metallica mixed in? I have various music interests..lol
@@lanejohnson7656 we never made the video as I am still trying to figure out how to do it properly and several new speakers were being released we are waiting on. Give us a call at 1-844-30AUDIO and my sales team can do a great job helping pick the proper speaker for your listening preference or you can come see us in person and listen to each option
Thank you videos are greatly appreciated! High quality great step by step videos!
Thank you!
Great instructional videos, Jay. very well-made
Thank you!
Like the video, but what about the stock speaker pod wires. Do they need an upgrade to 16ga?
No need, wire is large enough and copper
Could a person put some heat shrink over the speaker connectors as well as crimping them tighter?
No need as heat shrink is to keep water out, crimping them tighter keeps them from coming loose without introducing a lot of heat right at the terminals
When you removed the speaker pod from the fairing, I didn't see a plug in from the pod to the harness. Does the speaker pod itself have a plug in?
Yes it has a factory plug
Okay Thanks. I actually took my fairing off this morning and I saw the plug in.
Does the radio and everything need to be removed to change the speakers? Can it be done without removing the radio?
It is easier if you remove the radio
Remove the tape from the wobble extension and replace it with an "O" ring, works much better.
Good to know, I’ve always used electrical tape
I’ll try it, Tesa tape works pretty good
will these work with the stock stereo?
Yes they do, we recommend an amplifier and any time you add an amplifier you need to flash the stock radio
@@volunteeraudio can i flash the radio myself?
@@BrandonBurns1985 we rent the flash tool for adding an amplifier
@@volunteeraudio rent? Like from Harley? Or is this like a car where you can use HP tuners or something like that?
