The red nebula is Barnard's Loop, which you normally see as a ring shape from within the Bubble. You're now seeing it from a completely different angle for the first time! When you've built a proper exploration ship and taken it way outside the Bubble, you'll have a real sense of the majesty of space, the total isolation and low-key terror of being just one small mistake away from disaster.

Landing on a planet or moon as far 'out' as you can get (and get back!) and seeing just one or two stars in the immense darkness of space ... I love this game.

As you probably know by now, you don't need a navigation beacon, as you have a "discovery scanner" which will do the same job, but slower. Map it to some controls and try it out... exploration can become addictive.

If you want to do a travel with as many commanders on the carrier, may I suggest doing it when you do the 5k LY trip? That way you can combo one neat thing with one useful one (for a lot of people).
EDIT: Also, you can jump your carrier from the system you're in to the same system but on a different body. When you reach a system with far bodies like these ones, you can then schedule a jump to the body. To select a body, instead of choosing the system as destination, the left panel has an option to open that system's system view while still selecting a jump target. Then you can select a specific body, but keep in mind that there are limits to how many carriers can station at a given body (and the carrier jump screen closes on a bad jump selection, no chance to choose another target).

I am just on my way back from there, in a Krait Phantom.
You have to find the Crystaline forests in this system. That's where you find all the high grade raw materials, (exept for Selenium).

Thanks for sharing your adventures, Foxy! I truly enjoy seeing someone having as much (maybe more?) fun than I do with this epic game. As has come to be our tradition, I will send you (and other commanders) a few tips and tricks about what I see (or don't see) in your video.
    1) For those who don't know, "HIP 36601" and "OUTOTZ LS-K D8-3" contain planets with large %s of 6 of the 7 Grade4 Raw Engineering Materials, making them very valuable locations to keep bookmarked. Once you have Felicity Farseer unlocked (possibly a couple more engineers as well) and have increased your FSD a bit, it is well worth the trip out to stock up on those materials and take that stockpile to a Raw Materials Trader to give yourself a good supply of every Raw Material.
    2) Your idea to take an entire lineup of commanders for a long voyage is the same idea that has spawned large exploration groups in the past. The "Distant Worlds" project is but one of these. I'm led to believe that there are also fairly regular runs coordinated to take commanders to Colonia (the bubble away from the bubble) and back, often for Engineer Unlocking (there are several stationed out there).
    3) The Bartender on your Fleet Carrier works for YOU, Foxy. You have to supply the items and/or set the buy orders (as I understand it).
    4) Nav Beacons are only available in "Civilized Space." To explore outside the Bubble or Colonia you will need to use your Full Spectrum Scanner (FSS) to locate each planetary body in the system and zoom in on it. Once you do, the name will appear on the map. In some less explored/visited regions you won't even have the image of the planet in your map to go by. (Remember earlier in your career with the missing planets?) The FSS, among other bits of information, will give you the mineral %s (as you used in a previous video.)
    5) The planetary naming convention is as follows:
    Host Star = A
    Additional stars = B, C, D, etc
Each Planet around each Star takes that star name and adds a number.
So first planet of first star is A1, 3rd planet around second star is B3
Moons add lower case letters to the above mix. 2nd moon, 4th planet, 3rd sun = C4a
Planets can also be shared by multiple stars, so you can get things like AB2
    6) As we discussed in game, that red nebula is Barnard's Loop. When viewed from the Bubble it is almost a circle, but 1700ly out, you're seeing it from a different angle. What you see in the view from your ship can often be verified with the Galactic Map. They do match one another pretty well.
    7) Apparently you missed the Crystalline Trees. I can't tell you if you were on the right planet to find them because I don't have the information on hand at the moment (not that you would follow it if I told you exactly where to go, you wonderfully hard-headed fool), but a quick web-search should make those locations known to any commander who want to be guaranteed to find it. They are much harder to find in Odyssey than they were in Horizons. Look back at item #4 above. The FSS is your friend...
Keep up the good work, Foxy. See you among the stars!
    ~CMDR Wyrnikh

I believe the range for a fully fuelled carrier is more or less a return trip through the galaxy (at 500ly per jump, and 25-30 minutes per jump,. it will take a significant time). They used to use up much more tritium at the beginning.

It is possible to watch and film your Carrier jump externally - both departing, and arriving. But you have to be sitting in another ship, outside it (and obviously jump to where your carrier is appearing, to reunite with it - so make it a short carrier jump at first!). It is worth seeing at least once. It looks very strange compared to a normal High Wake.

The fleet carrier is your own star port. Trade, explore or anything else. You can set prices for products and go anywhere to buy or sell them. Almost forgot. You can mine too. To me that is the easiest and most relaxing way to gather mineral and metal resources.

If all you want to do is go material farming, I recommend using a long range ship (50+ ly and fuel scope). You can pick up a few star system readings on the way and the travel time is actually shorter.

  • @NietoKT
    @NietoKT ปีที่แล้ว

20:50 it's easy to guess the names. I think it's in order: system name, star name (A,B,C), planet number (1,2,3), moon number (a,b,c). So for example: third moon of the first planet orbiting second star will have a number "B 1 c". Correct me in the comments if i'm wrong.
And also, you will need to learn how to use full spectrum scanner, or fss. That's how you will discover undiscovered planets

In many ways Elite Dangerous is FAR more beautiful and stunning than Starfield. The black night star dotted space and the large bright planets and moon, give this game a far more real feeling of immersion than the cartoonish look of the Starfield universe, in my opinion. I do still like Starfield, but for authenticity, Elite is far more real.

    Hello Foxyloxy 😃
I wasn't sure if you knew but you are the one that stocks your Bar, you can transfer data, materials and goods from your ship to the bar, then you can set a price and sell it to Commanders that visit you carrier.
For the Grade 4 (highest grade raw materials) you want to look for bio signs on planets with no atmosphere and that are further than 14000ls from main star, then used DSS to scan planet. (look for crystal shards)
There isn't Nav beacons in unpopulated systems, you can FSS scan to get the information to show in you navigation panel.

If on the carrier when it jumps, then where ever the carrier goes so do you. You need to be on the carrier 2 MINUETS BEFOR IT JUMPS (or you will not be able to DOCK) If the carrier is doing multiple jumps to a destination and you miss jumping with the carrier, you will very likely be STARNDED if your ship CAN NOT JUMP ATLEAST 40 + LIGHT YEARS, This is because the distance between stars in this region are so SPARCE YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO plot a route to JUMP BACK TO THE BUBBLE OR THE CARRIER. You will have to self destruct and re-buy (with insurance if you have the funds)or down grade to the ship you can afford. Or if you are broke the starter ship (Sidewinder) will be your only option

These locations are all in Hip36601. The planet is the first detail followed by GPS and then Raw Material. They are all grade 4 and you have to make a few trips back & forth to raw material trader (Johnson Dock) that isn't on Inara for some reason, to trade down or into Selenium or Tellurium as they are harder to locate, (still sourcing GPS on existing locations which I will explore next time out that way). but these 4 can you get you started.
Bring a Diamond Back Explorer with a Pre-Engineered FSD from a "Human Tech Broker" and a Scarab SRV. You certainly want a 4a Fuel Scoop too but you won't need extra fuel tanks either.. On my profile you can see my DBX called Midnight Espresso.. It gets 70+ LY jumps and only takes just over 20 jumps to get there from bubble.. carrier is not needed as you can't store raw materials on carrier, only in backpack. There are other minerals you might want to collect filling your cargo but Raw Materials do not take up cargo space so.. Safe Travels Commander..
GPS shows up on your HUD when you enter an atmosphere.. Getting to know how to use the GPS is tricky but if you go one way you will see one set of numbers rising or falling until they match co-ordinates, then you go the alternate direction for the other co-ordinates.

I know lots of players do that, but I always hated relog farming; makes the game too easy and feels like cheating. Suddenly being able to engineer all the ships, in just few hours of work? Just doesn't feel right and cuts on gameplay.

    • @BrittTheFurry
      @BrittTheFurry ปีที่แล้ว

It is not really cheating. FDev made engineering very repetitive. So we get our materials quickly to not get bored and frustrated with how painfully slow and boring engineering gets once you have unlocked them.

@@vcc_pdr while you might love that, I don't. I hate grindy games in general. When I get on, I wanna play, see more than just the same space stations over and over again. I rather jump across the galaxy than doing the same repetitive missions. If there were more dynamic elements to it that it isn't the same thing over and over again, I would want to do that. But with all the repetitive gameplay, I rather go and relog for a few hours and have the mats ao I can piss off into deep space again

@@BrittTheFurry But when you "jump across the galaxy", what do you do except *other* repetitive things like scanning systems, planets and exo-biology? E:D is a sandbox game playable for years, so it is bound to have same things done over and over.
This is the real reason I prefer not to use cheats, it simply forces me to do different things and don't get bored. With that approach, I think F:D did a pretty good balance.

Yes, I totally agree, that breaks the immersion.
