Smart W451 Clutch Actuator Installation And Clutch Relearning

Clutch actuator installation and Relearning procedure is carried out after replacing Clutch kit on Smart Fortwo Coupe 451 1.0 L
but this procedure is applied to all smart with 451 series chassis, so i followed service manual instruction but there was mentioning about Relearning procedure so, until i didn't relearn the Clutch to the transmission Ecu the DTC couldn't erased the DTC was erased after the Clutch Relearning procedure completed.

you dont need a star diagnostic tool to do it, you can simple disconnect the battery for a few hours and when you connect it back and turn ignition on (do not start car) you will hear the actuator will relearn itself, once is finished few secound later you can start the car

Don't you think that the computer programs are just to monitor what the computer module is doing and just following the steps is enough for relearn?

Can you let me know what scanner/diagnostic tool you used? I'm needing to do the same and assumed the only option was to purchase an MB STAR unit.

I used snap on verus with 13.2 software version for this particular vehicle. Topdon Phoenix plus Scanner can also do the job according to my experience, MB star diagnostic tool can do the job too.

Very nice video. Have bought the clutch kit but now need to find a programmer for the clutch adaptation... I only have experience with vcds (vw/audi)
Shop asked 750€ for clutch replacement.

Hello, I have a mitsubishi colt, recently I changed the clutch, everything is ok, while I'm driving, when the gearbox changes from gear 2 to gear 3, there is a noise like a crack and then it goes into gear, do you have any idea what it could be? possible to be from the actuator? Thanks a lot

If the Clutch is new you have to relearn it. If the Clutch is not changed you have to next time..

@@gabrieldumea5534 sorry bro im from germany. paid 100 for clutch in german Amazon. 200€ in the shop to repair. Now i paid 225€ for actuator and nothing to install cause its done in 5 minutes with 3 bolts
