I just drove 500mi with a fully loaded 15' truck and my car on the auto trailer, it was screaming uphill but we made it, the design of the trailer is great, easy, and secure. Also was super easy to back up with a trailer instead of the dolly
Why not mention some of the greatest benefits, which are entirely legitimate. Reversing the auto transport is MUCH easier than the dolly with a vehicle on it. Stability for the Auto transport at highway speeds is significantly better than towing with the dolly. The Auto transport trailer has surge brakes to help reduce strain on the towing vehicle’s brakes. The Auto transport has 4 wheels, compared to two on the dolly. I hardly want to imagine suffering a blowout on a tow dolly while towing a vehicle. 😮 As for a disabled vehicle, I used the dual hitch with a hitch mounted winch to pull a car onto a Uhaul Auto transport. Worked twice with disabled sedan and a smaller SUV. The Uhaul Auto transport beats the tow dolly in any scenario where the tow vehicle has appropriate tow capacity.

And your towing vehicle has to be have a towing capacity of 7,500 or more lbs. in order to tow a 5,200 lbs. vehicle on the Auto Transport. That's because the Auto Transport trailer itself is over 2,200 lbs. empty. There are videos or photos of people towing large trucks or cargo vans on the Auto Transport, but I am quite certain these are not within the specifications that U-Haul provides.
