Costa Rica has a long way to go and doesn't have the kind of money the Panama Canal provides to its neighbor, with that said, we have also stayed a step or two ahead of most countries in Latin America. Currently hit by an increase on murder rates due to narcotraffic and "soft" punishment laws, our country refuses to back down and continues to work on finding ways to strive in a geographic location that doesn't reward its member and any other way than having access to both seas and a nice tropical weather for most of the year.
