I saw a documentary on blue zones a few years back. One guy they interviewed was from a zone in Italy, moved to the US to work, and got diagnosed with cancer in his 60's. He decided to move back home to die but ended up living into his 90s. There is probably something to the fresh food, clean environment, community & low stress.

The butterfly that flutters across the screen when she's talking about her beginning to healing when she chose the naturopathic route and went to Costa Rica for their wedding, is symbolically beautiful 🦋💖

Everything they have said is all true. We bought a house in 2020, 5 minute walk to the beach. I, too, battled with breast cancer 2 weeks after my son was born. Stress can bring back the cancer, that’s one of the reasons why we needed a place away from the states. There is a sense of peace and relaxation when we go there. I was in CR for a month in 2022, and my (bad) arthritis felt non-existent, even for many months to follow. ENJOY that beautiful country.
My daughter went to Costa Rica last year and loved it!!! This video has convinced me that this is the place to retire " comfortably." Are you with me daughter dear???
CR is not cheap. I just spent 1-month there and spent probably $600 on groceries. Everything was pricey and imported in the local supermarket. It's getting expensive for locals as well and that's when crime goes up. Guess who will the locals blame and target when prices get too high?
@@cjsansoo7I am originally from Costa Rica and what the comment above said is true, thanks to American gentrifiers among other political problems, the country is becoming very dangerous... And this is just beginning.

I visited Costa Rica last year, and omg Costa Ricans are so FRIENDLY, I never felt hostile/hateful energy from anyone there. I never visited a country where NO ONE was rude. I loved it, hopefully I'll visit again soon.

They rent a three bedroom for 628 a month including utilities. Where I live here in Florida it's impossible to find something that cheap lol. Kudos to them for making their move and wish them many more years of happiness
Yes, but they are spending $1200 month on groceries. Food in CR is very expensive unless you eat rice and beans everyday. $1200 a month in groceries in Florida would feed a family of 10 people. Their rent went down but their grocery bill likely doubled. $3000 a month in a lousy town in Costa Rica is not that great.
@@Originalman144 Yeah you can feed 10 even more but eating a lot of trash, in Costa Rica only trash food is expensive and for what i saw they eat out a lot and that is expensive too.
I visited Costa Rica a few years ago and the people treated me like I was a movie star. I'm stuck in Houston for now because immigration is backlogged. I can't wait to escape this place because I now have anxiety and I never had this before...😢😢
No they just are normal kind people whereas americans are mean and unfriendly, that why u felt normal ppl treating u like movie star, you never knew what it was like to talk to normal healthy ppl

[7] And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Had a coworker move here during the Pandemic too. I have visted Costa Rica, and would 100% move there. Im not a naturopathic person, and would never move for that reason, but Costa Rica has amazing food, people, life, things to do, and its close to a lot of other amazing countries.
Omg! Congratulations on kicking Cancer’s butt! I was at a work event last night and Costa Rica came up heavily as a place to live that was black friendly. Synchronicity!❤
The healthcare in the US can cripple you financially, it’s insane how much it costs. Even with the massively overpriced insurance you still pay so much out of pocket
They are living my dream! We are split between Costa Rica, El Salvador, & Belize. I thought Costa Rica was more expensive I’ll have to check out the area they were in.
It's is more expensive, but if you have around 2,000 it will be enough. If you can get accustomed to living like a local, you might not even need that much.
Haven’t been to Costa Rica but have been to both El Salvador and Belize. Both are beautiful, locals are friendly, and it is extremely easy to busy whatever you want in either country.
So this area where they live (Nicoya) in Guanacaste province is not as expensive as it is a coastal province but not exactly on the beach, is a small city and they seem to be living on the outskirts of it which is why renting a house for $600 a month is sooooo normal (I live somewhere similar on a different part so yeah)
I was in Costa Rica in late 2022 , and the energy from the people there were so positive. The nicest people I've come accross thus far. I love Costa Rican people! And I didn't feel discriminated against cause I was a black man.
What an amazing testimony!! My childhood friend and I are planning to move to CR. I retired last year and she retires this year. We visited CR 2x last year. We stayed 25 days the first time & 2 weeks the second time. I live in NYC, the concrete jungle. I need the CR jungle loaded with nature.😊 Beautiful beaches with natural pools! Fresh food & fruits!! I left the U.S. 2 1/2 years ago and I have not looked back! I was supposed to go to Thailand first but couldn't because of covid, so I went to Mexico first with the intention of only staying for like 6 months until Thailand eased their restrictions. Well I;m still here but on my way to Thailand soon. Don't believe it when they tell you that the U.S. is THE best place to be. It's not. It doesn't mean that I hate the U.S. I don't. I was born and raised there as was my entire family, BUT....I will say that the people of Mexico have been very kind to me and I feel like a human being first instead of having a label placed on my skin color first. Mexico is part of my future and I'm pretty sure Thailand will be too. Sad to say, but the only time that I will go back to the U.S. is to visit friends and family, but never to live. (unless through some tragic and twisted fate, I'm FORCED to..lol). I feel happier and safer outside of the U.S.!
To achieve the "American Dream" takes a lot more out of us while seemingly less and less achievable. The rat race is making us collectively stressed and unhealthy. Plus we have the issues of astronomical healthcare, housing, and childcare, along with gun violence. As a mother of 2, it's in the back of my mind every time my children and I leave the house. That wouldn't be an issue in a place like Costa Rica. I commend them for taking the leap. My family and I aim to do the same around 2027, when my kids are a bit older.
Costa Rica is my favorite place in the world. This video was just the kick in the plans to develop a 2 year plan to permanently move there. It is better for my mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing.

What a beautiful, lovely family. Amazing people. So happy to see such a wonderful family, thriving! My niece and her toddler recently moved there and she is so happy!
I spent a month volunteering at a sea turtle conservation in Costa Rica in 2006 and it was the most incredible experience. Don’t go down there expecting all the American conveniences though. It’s a much simpler way of life. Many Americans think they want that, but then they get there and aren’t into it long term. Just something to keep in mind.

There is a protein in cows milk in the states that is not found in other places. A2 milk is milk you can buy that you may be able to drink here.
"Medical research estimates as much as 90 percent of illness and disease is stress-related."
The book “The Myth of Normal” by Dr Gabor Mate on this exactly topic is so validating.

This family integrated rather than expecting their new host country to conform to their American ideals. Kudos to these wonderful people!
she became cancer free when she moved to costa rica, lady and gents, you should try visiting costa rica, the food and air is totally different.
No thanks!! They displace local people from Costa Rica and increase prices in the area. Gentrification.
I’m a single mom and moved to Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 from Georgia! It’s been 5 years and now I’m ready for a country outside of US territory! Happy for them
The butterfly that flutters across the screen when she's talking about her beginning to healing when she chose the naturopathic route and went to Costa Rica for their wedding, is symbolically beautiful 🦋💖
i retired from the army after 21 years and moved back to my contry el salvador in 2021. im more than happy here
Thank you for your service
4:08 Wise woman !! She listened to her body...Her intuition. I love that .
I agree so much with what she said!!! Living in the US I feel so much heavier energetically. I lived in Switzerland for 3 years and although I was more alone I felt energetically lighter. I am really glad to see she and her family are doing so much better. Love this video!
I love this episode; it was focused more on the non-financial side, I think. And I teared a little to hear about her sister who passed and she couldn't go be with her for the last time. So sad esp since her sister was with her during her cancer journey. Am so happy you're cancer-free and I hope your lovely family will continue to thrive in that beautiful place. 🌞
Thank you so much!

What timing! Was just talking to my wife about moving back to Costa Rica. Such a wonderful country!
I think it would be a great opportunity for you both. I say GO FOR IT!!!
We just got temporary residency and now we are looking to start a cafe right across from the Liberia airport, open late 2024. Come in and visit us if you all fly into Liberia.
Hi! We usually prefer to fly into Liberia. I will definitely stop into your café when its open. What is the name of your café?
@@TheAngelsGirlHi. So good to hear from you. The cafe will be called The Landing Cafe, it’s right next to the gas station at the Solarium. We should break ground next few months. Yes, please come in and say hi to us. We should defiantly keep in touch.
What did you pay for that house, and what is the sq ft.?
No answer .. I wish I could say I was shocked.
@@THE-X-Forcewe didn’t purchase this house, as we don’t plan on living on Nicoya long term. I am unsure of the square footage as that is not important to me. I am being inundated with messages and questions, so I won’t be able to see or answer them all. Thank you for understanding.
I was in CR for a month in 2022, and my (bad) arthritis felt non-existent, even for many months to follow. My cousin ( a native) said it's the lack of inflammation in my body due to the food and the environment. I'm trying to get dual citizenship since my father was a Jamaican Costa Rican. ENJOY that beautiful country.
I’m happy to see them thriving and happy! It’s wonderful that they took a risk and feel welcomed, valued, and accepted in their new community 😊
There's is soooo much to unpack here. Especially that direct connection between cancer, mindset and lifestyle. DEEP. Much love to this family!!❤
I migrated to the US but rn I’m building my house back home. This country ain’t it outside of providing good work opportunities.
I'm seeing more and more black ppl moving out the states! I am inspired!
I know I'm leaving, I had enough of the U.S. 👍
Chile me too👊🏿☝🏾👏🏾👏🏾👊🏿✊🏽
My daughter went to Costa Rica last year and loved it!!!
@@Originalman144 thanks for the info. I had better check it out for myself.
@@cjsansoo7I am originally from Costa Rica and what the comment above said is true, thanks to American gentrifiers among other political problems, the country is becoming very dangerous... And this is just beginning.
This is so amazing!!! Chemo killed my oldest son after just one round! 3/11/2023. From a cancer I was told. That was completely ans easily curable! So glad she listened to her body and stopped and moved to a better place for her physical and mental health

I'm so sorry. Chemo is to be avoided at all cost. Natural healing is the way.
My condolences for your loss 💐
Chemo kills not the cancer. 😢
I am sorry for the loss of your son 😔
I visited Costa Rica last year, and omg Costa Ricans are so FRIENDLY, I never felt hostile/hateful energy from anyone there. I never visited a country where NO ONE was rude. I loved it, hopefully I'll visit again soon.
I thank GOD that you're Cancer free/you've found a place where you can thrive.
this couple really stuck it out together through a lot of trials and tribulations, bless
This is the definition of a power couple and true love. What a sweet family.
I am a native of Austin TX. The stress of keeping up with inflation is very stressful. My husband and I have discussed moving to another country. My husband is a retired county worker and a Veteran but still has to work to keep up with inflation and I work Krazy OT. Thanks for sharing your journey.
I once lived in Austin but in Dallas now. I can totally agree.
A beautiful couple with beautiful children, living a beautiful life. Thank you for sharing your story❤

SO true. I'm afriad to go to the doctor's office.

It’s great that you guys choose our country for living and that you now have no cancer. Good luck in our country, best wishes for you both. Pura vida!
They are living my dream! We are split between Costa Rica, El Salvador, & Belize. I thought Costa Rica was more expensive I’ll have to check out the area they were in.
It is I am a Costarican and yes it is more expensive than those 2 countries
It is more expensive but it is possible to not spend a fortune. I think there is something for everyone.

Did you make it to Thailand… I love it! I also enjoy being in Mexico a lot.
I just came back from CR 4/23/24 and have been looking for a home in the mountains. I love your story! Pura Vida!!!
