For example, she bested Brienne in combat, who defeated the Hound? That's absurd, Arya was trained to be an assassin (she didn't even accomplish much there), not a hand-to-hand fighter. She sneaked past all of the wights and whitewalkers and lieutenants in a circle around the night king, and then jumped like she was on a trampoline to kill the night king? Even more absurd. Now, despite the fact that she couldn't even sail herself across the narrow sea just a few seasons ago, she's going to become Dora the explorer and sail across the sunset sea, which no one has successfully accomplished to our knowledge -- not even the iron born? That's just laughable.

So i understood... all fking problems were because of Jon, because Jon must know nothing, it.is his.destiny. When fatman told him about his parents, all went shit.
Sooo i deleted all scenes (from s7ep7) with information about Jons parentage, and all scenes where Dany looks like mad.
Finally, S8 gain its logic.

I have to disagree, while yes s7 and s8 are "bad" (subjectively), s1 - s6 are still really good and mostly faithful to the source material (with some exceptions in s5 + s6). Books are still a good read, and he's hopefully releasing the last two soon. On top of all that, the prequel show is coming out next year I think (or 2022? I'm not sure) casting has just began. Negative mindsets are bad, it's just a show, look for alternatives. :')
S1: No character is safe
S8: It's not enough. Kill the whole thing.

Yeah so this night king dude comes with his kick-ass army, right? Unbeatable force and everyone who gets killed by them will join them when this night king uses his powers so of course all the Dothraki get sent towards them and nearly all of them die which actually is half of them. The trebuchets are the next line of defense logically and aren't protected at all; the rest of the army is behind them. Then Bran fucks off for a while in a raven and some fire will stop the zombies for a little bit until 3 or 4 of these very combustable monsters drop themselves on the fire and form a fireproof bridge for the others. All the people are about to die by this tidal wave of evil throwing themselves at them but when you either stab one of them or the camera switches to someone else, naturally the person who was about to get killed is safe again. Then the half-sister (or distant cousin?) of Azor Ahai kills the night king right before he would kill Bran and then Daenerys goes crazy when she defeats King Landing and gets killed for it and Bran becomes king because he can tell nice stories. The end.
P.S. Some other shit happens too with Jamie and Brienne, and Cleganebowl also is a thing.

The horse made no sense, but that wasn't Arya's fault.
And as for sailing - she journeyed on ships before, probably picking up quite a bit of it, and she has a crew. She's not sailing that thing alone into nothing, she's simply the leader of the expedition. I'm sure she picked a captain who knows his trade.

And then "Ser Brienne of Tarth" becomes Lord Commander of the King's Guard. Fitting, considering she will probably be sexually traumatized for the rest of her life because of what he did.

@@coolflames6649 He was already lord commander of the nights watch so it's not like he's going to become a slave or anything or even live a bad life in the nights watch. No more wildlings or undead to fight there so it's a relatively peaceful place to live now and he gets to practically live like a king there since he is well respected. Refusing to go along with it would only start another war with the unsullied and they'd never be able to get rid of their hatred for him killing the queen without punishment. Another war is the last thing they want even if a stark is now the new king. The absolute stupid stupid as fuck part is how greyworm didn't try to slaughter the starks after the queen was murdered and wanted to punish him with the equivalent of a slap on the wrist. Jon being fine with taking the punishment in order to avoid yet another war makes sense, greyworm and all the unsullied being fine that the savior who freed them from slavery being murdered after the war ends however doesn't. The Dothraki too, they'd either seek revenge or go back to being a barbaric tribe who does whatever they want after the person who united them all died...

I mostly just wondered, why did Grey Worm have such a huge say in Jon's sentencing? Especially after his queen slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Also, I wonder how he would've reacted if he had found out that Jon is his queen's nephew and rightful heir. This series' biggest secret and plot point (the literal Song of Fire and Ice) is never revealed to anyone except to a handful of people and it never bears any real weight in the story. This season was so stupid.

@Galthasar Belt I don't think it applies to Littlefinger. He got pretty far in his game (coming from a tiny fief on the fingers, he ultimately gained control of the Vale and parts of the Riverlands, and a massive influence over the north), and he didn't suddenly act all stupid. His downfall received a significant amount of screen time and was at least somewhat believable (he considered himself terribly smart and underestimated Sansa and Arya).

The secret is to brown the butter.
Bran had so much potential. Him being behind every major historical event (including Aerys going mad) that drove the plot of the entire series, and being a greater threat to humanity than the Night King, and thus manipulating time and events to ultimately lead to the Night King's destruction because the NK was the only thing keeping him in check, would've been such a chilling series finale reveal.

Ten years of the best television I've watched, flushed down the drain. I almost didn't notice how bad it was until Bran was named king. Then watching people make these videos really showed me the light and I am infuriated.
Yeah at the end I was like, "why does this feel so.....underwhelming?" Like I was like oh that sucks literally the last person anyone wanted or thought of to be king becomes king. Even Tyrion made a comment to Jon in prison that "Half the people in westeros hate me for supporting her, and the other half for betraying me" and something along the lines of "not everyone is going to like the new ruler, not everyone will be happy, but it's a good thing because that means compromise"
Which is literally D&D writing in their own piss poor excuse as to why they ended the way they did. They themselves didn't want to disappoint any fans so the figured "hey let's make everyone unhappy so no one group feels singled out, that'll be a fine ending for the greatest TV series in television history."

The whole things was out of order. King's Landing was the lesser threat and the Night King was the greater threat. They should have went south, took King's landing with their full strength, then faced the Night King with a unified Westeros.
It's ironic that D and D were rushing season 8 so they could work on a Star Wars movie. Now, since they screwed up the GoT ending so much, Disney won't let them work on Star Wars.

There wasn't enough time for that, King's Landing meant a siege and sieges could take months to be resolved in medieval times. NK would show up and once they got any kind of established ground in Westeros they'd win.
No, s8 was bad but that wasn't the problem. They already thought Cersie was going to join them, so instead of sacrificing troops in the south they wanted the best possible army. There was also no time to have a full on war before the Night king came.

Going to kings landing means going farther away from the night king which means it buys them more time and they're guaranteed to either get help from cersei or they can camp outside the castle and let the night kings army breach the castle so they're forced to join the war. They brought their army there anyway, might as well let them get attacked first then provide support afterwards, would've formed a stronger alliance after both armies fought the dead together and there's less Lannister's to fight if things didn't work out.

So he kept him in jail simply for refusing to be the Hand of his Ex Queen.... talk about holding grudges. Grey Worm became a total spiteful cunt for very minimal reasons, only to also do VERY little about anything even with the murder of his lover and his queen. No rebellion, no hostages, no significant murders..... just whining and then quietly being told what to do by a bunch of people that don't mean shit to him. The Unsullied logically don't even make sense as an Army, they'd be much better as spies or government officials but heck the 'Ten Attendants' showed us even Eunichs can clearly become quite unfaithful.

6:15 you missed something. Jon Snow is on the direct way to meet the Dragon Queen while Grey worm kills some prisoners, but Grey worm arives earlier to the meeting than Jon Snow.

The respawning of the dothraki and the Unsullied, for me, was like the cherry on top of the shit cake that D&D made out of this season.
At this point, I stopped counting all the contradictions and unresolved questions.
Probably could have gotten away with it if they hadn't been so full of themselves and stated that it was "basically" the end of the Dothraki. Not sure anyone else could possibly fuck that up harder than they did.
I thought it was plain stupid how the Dothraki went out during the battle at winterfell - just plain stupid. Them returning - in numbers - was more like insulting. One could argue that some of the unsullied survived but i dont know. The whole empress scene of dany with all her soldiers was too much. It looked like the whole unsullied squad was still around after the battle. Every corridor inside that keep was filled with Unsullied - well ofc except the room Dany was in.
The Golden Company was the biggest letdown. It was hyped for years as the final big fight. And then they made less kills than fucking BRICKS in this episode!
BRICKS had 2 kills: Jaimie and Cersei! Golden Company had ZERO.

Yeah it's bullshit. The dead breached the walls of Winterfell. From the crypts you can hear people being slaughtered. How did half of the dorthraki (and their horses), half of the unsullied and so many north men survive?

I feel like GoT is a great example of how much writing matters in a show. You can have great acting, great fighting scenes, great visuals, etc but it all comes down to how good the story actually is.

you remember what happened to little finger? He was even smarter and when he understood that bran can see the past and present he didnt get out of winterfell and stayed there until they killed him. writers wanted him character to leave the show but they couldnt wait for the right moment. Same as dani or her dragons and many more characters.
