    Hey I've done a ton more research and have actually figured out how to get to 100 mood (you can actually get 105 but it won't show over 100) and broke down the exact numbers and impact each mood effecting modification can have.

    I had no idea that you could add decorations to houses! Here's me trying to build all big Houses of bare stone walls and plank roofs because that's what I thought was the best way to raise mood. You're pulling off 100% with Small Simple Houses!

    • @andreaholcock8992

      Stone and plank is good for insulation tho so you didn’t waste your time

    • @moverandashaker1996
      @moverandashaker1996 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Andrea Holcock Actually no. Stones and planks aren't the insulation materials, daub and limestone are. I always make sure to insulate my walls but that's not what I was talking about.
      I was saying that because I didn't know about adding decorations to raise mood I was literally tearing down all the simple small houses in order to build the biggest houses for everyone because I thought that was the only way to maximize mood. Turns out I probably could have just swapped out the low tier walls and roofs for higher tier materials and added decorations and been just fine.

    Guessing it's because I have zero king rep but max I can get is ~80. Also I learned a cool trick. I had a kitchen I and I unlocked kitchen II and I already had my village kinda mapped and didn't want to rework everything so I selected to build kitchen 2 and wanted to see if it took up roughly the same space as kitchen 1. It snapped to kitchen 1 with new walls. I clicked and the majority of the work (foundation and frames) remained and I only needed to rework the walls. The same went for smithy 2 and the storages. I wasted so much resources deconstruction of all the buildings

    • @7CGames
      @7CGames  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah you can do that with all the production buildings. Smith, workshop, sewing hut etc. Just slap em right on the pre-existing frame. I dunno if it works for houses though. I don't think so. I think you need a "good" king to get to 100 but you should be able to get 90 without the king. The trick is making sure they're in the right job.

    very cool! I just started playing and i haven't hardly built anything yet but when looking at resources to build best walls for example and knowing they help reduce firewood need and keep them happier i'm like, ,why not build best walls, not like it takes that much longer, and i'd hopefully not have to repair them as often I assume. But knowing how much if effects mood and productivity makes even more sense. I been reading a lot of people saying in tips videos to slow down, ,take time, etc.. So i think I'll try upgrading my homes as much as i possibly can as I go and again I don't care if it takes more time to do so if it ends up with a better result in the long run. (apparently people tend to expand villages too quickly building all buildings as fast as possible which leads to issues for some people)

      Do you mean what buildings do you need to be close to your workers? Only the farm shed really. The barn workers will start work right at 8am I think even if they're still walking to work. Same with everyone except farmers. The farmers need to walk to the farm shed, then walk to the field. So where you put their house and how close you can get the field to the farm shed are important. Does having a variety of food for the villagers to eat improve their mood (as compared to primarily meat)?

    • @7CGames
      @7CGames  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No they're just as happy with dried meat as they are with cherry pies. The only thing having those fancy cooked meals does is they're worth way more units/item. So as you get a bigger town you need a ton more dried meat but not a lot of bread or fish tarts etc. The house/job is the only thing I've found effecting mood.

    Are the quests necessary in the beginning? They are so far apart and often beyond my skills or time to complete in the days set. I’m more of a farmer method than hunter. How to endure? Got a night hunt in the first summer as I’m still learning the skills let alone materials, failed of course though accomplished a few others.

    • @7CGames
      @7CGames  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you have to talk to your uncle for the initial start and building a house but after that absolutely no quests are necessary. You do have to do the chapter stuff though. The chapter quest line is nothing story related but it does lock you into population and building limits so getting those done will allow you to get the maximum out of your city.

    • @7CGames
      @7CGames  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No not for mood, and they won't harvest any more either. The thing tool quality effects is how quickly they break them so they'll use less of them and you can have your blacksmiths making excess that you can sell.

    Very informative. I have one question: people say take it slow and do alot yourself first two seasons but i think it's better to get help asap. What you think? Like in season 2 i have 7 villagers all couples so i can fit them in 4 houses to increase production and them leveling faster ? The tools i make myself and put them in resource storage but it seems some are not collecting them so is it better to put them in the trunk of each production building instead?

    • @7CGames
      @7CGames  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! Glad it helped! I do wait a bit just so I can have time to get established. I like to have not just the work stations but also the storage set up so I don't have to manually move items around. I also like over building on houses and keeping couples separate for a bit just to get them to maybe lvl 5 or so before having kids. Also the more you do yourself the faster you get your tech and skill points up. They go WAY faster when you do things vs townsfolk doing things.
      They'll pull tools from resource as they need. I know it sounds weird but 2 lumberjacks only need 1 axe it just degrades faster lol. Once they break it they'll get another.

      Getting the 90-100% has been throwing me off too. I don't know if it's dependent on a king? I know doing the herald job for a "good" king will give mood increase but I've also had 100% on some townsfolk that I've never done a king job for. That last 5% and how I got it is still eluding me. @@temonte yeah I did every side thing, the Alwin one, all the story stuff, everything. Even Alwin's gives you some good reputation. The unfortunate thing is when everything dries up you're left with generic ones which you're right are usually only 50. Some of them that require multiple steps (I think like the tailor competition one that sends you to hornica) they might have a bit more but it's all RNG on which townsfolk have which quests. The only thing you can manipulate is if you have a huge town with a LOT of people, the more people you have the higher likely hood that it's YOUR people that have quests so at least it's less running around.
