Path of Achra and Caves of Qud are my top two Roguelikes right now. They are very different in terms of the scope and speed. Path is a very fast game and it can be won at lower difficulties, and I think it a great starting point for the genre today. I played Rogue and Hack in the 80s, Moria, Angband and Nethack in the 90s. Tales of Maj'Eyal and Caves of Qud are both fantastic today. Jupter Hell deserves a big shout out too.
Nice video Biscuit! Tbh my experience with roge-likes are very shallow. I was only introduced to the genre last year. Although in what little experience I have of them, i have discovered some amazing stuff. P.S. what are your thoughts on jrpgs?
That’s great! Personally I am a pretty big fan of jrpgs. Although I enjoy many other genres as well. I have lost all interest for online shooters, but I understand why people enjoy them. I just started playing Sea of Stars, and so far it has been sublime.
Sea of stars looks great I still need to play it! Im currently making my way through Radiant Historia it needs to be emulated now cause the 3DS shop closed but it’s a really good game so far.
Radiant Historia looks like a great game. Are you emulating it on the 3DS or on a different platform? I hope that you really enjoy it! P.S. Your channel is so underrated. Your videos really deserves so much more.
I'm playing on a 3DS emu. And thank you so much for the kind words I'm working on uploading more and better content in the future. Hope this ages well!
Yeah, it annoys the hell out of me how people keep conflating roguelites with roguelikes. I'm glad there's a tag for "traditional" roguelikes on Steam now, but why this is even necessary is beyond me. I don't get why you'd call something like RoR a roguelike.
Nice video! Definetly the most frustrating and yet addictive genre I´ve played. Currently stuck on FTL, Wizard of Legend and Hades 2 :,)
All great games!
This is the biscuits of Roguelike Videos.

There's a whole list of games ill have to look up now in this comment!
9:07 Oh Rusty you scoundrel , great commentary!
I cannot believe our friend got us all addicted to Risk 1. It was all downhill from there
If only we could find the friend who sold our soul to the risk 1 devil smh my head
8:56 I would've also mentioned Minecraft (and effectively also Terraria) if I were you, I'm surprised how it always gets left out of the conversation.
Good job
Thanks!

I love jrpgs! I unfortunately don’t play a ton of them anymore because of the average time to beat them. But they’re a favorite of mine.

Okay
