Thank you for visiting the Choicemas "STOP THE CLOCK" Channel. I create content with hopes to inspire, motivate, educate, empower, and help others. Going to pickup my first #flatbedgang lumber load Thursday morning in Southern, VA headed for PA!!! Outfitted my T680 and got my truck ready!! Can't wait to join you out there. I know it wont be easy but thats what makes it lucrative!I'm watching to see what im in for!

There are numb-skulls that would say that you have too many straps. I'd say just like any other good flatbed runner, "Better to over secure every time rather than under secure once and cause a massive problem."

@@Mike-fo7jo well I'm an owner operator going into my second year now. It's going alright driving for a company will make your hair turn grey a lot slower then being owner operator
I work for a lumber company in Minnesota and we don’t have semis, just trucks with 18ft flatbeds and airbrakes. I’m the new guy and the old-heads laugh at me because I’ll add 2-4 straps per unit or stacked unit. Not because of the weight, but just because I don’t want it to move around on me at all.
4 months in, and I’ve hit nothing, and I’ve damaged no lumber or property. Don’t have to constantly babysit my mirrors. My motto is; do it right, or do it twice. I don’t want anyone or anything to get hurt/damaged, and it only takes me a few extra minutes to make sure everything is secure.
I also don’t have a CDL. They all do. Apparently my vehicle weighs less than theirs, and I also get the smaller loads, so it’s legal here. I do the same job, though. You can’t visually tell a difference between the size of our trucks, and our loads usually. They get paid $5/more than I do. It’s annoying :/

Choicemas You show some very good detailed videos, Im going to be signing on board with Gypsum Express and they deal with drywall, lumber shingles and some steel. I used to work at at sheetrock company for 14 years so your tarping and securing is familiar to me, when I had to load our trucks and park them in the warehouse for the next day to be shipped out.

Sent this one to my girl so she can see a little of what I intend to do & she can understand it some. You don't move much machinery do you? Backhoes, loaders, excavators...does Roehl do much of that?

MAN O MAN,u out in the country on this pick up,didnt see any horse and buggies,amish guys,kinda nice to be out like that all corn and soy bean fields,beautiful scenery,kinda relaxing in a way,good lob on securing load,2 extra straps took what 10 minutes,now u have peace of mind,it aint moving,TIME FOR A RIDE ALONE, company policy no more,if so ,their bat and ball,u play the game there way,

I think what you meant to say is that you were thinking he should have belly rapped the top half of the load, with the middle strap. On the front stack. And I agree.

I been doing van and reefer since the day I graduated school 2 years ago! And I'm going with ruehl trucking on October 16th in there flatbed division never flatbed in my life! Any tips bro?!
+Super Trucker33 you started with more experience than I did. I had to teach myself Securement as well because I was sent out to train with a curtainsider. With that said, I would say to get to know you weights and weight loads, ask other drivers questions about Securement whenever you’re at a shipper or a consignee and need some direction, ask questions to a driver that secured their load differently than yours, find out why, how...etc. considering you already have driving experience you will be able to focus on mastering your Securement. That’s cool. Depending on how clean you like to keep your truck I would suggest getting 2 pairs of boots. One for the rough and rugged nasty weather (the pair you don’t want in your truck and your sleeper) and another pair for the fair weather dry and paved customers (the ones you don’t mind wearing in your truck lol. A damn good pair of gloves too! Prep for the winter! 👍🏼👊🏼
