Finally I’m able to use the system. The user manual was not very helpful. I was ready to take it to dealership to have system checked out. This is the best video I’ve found that simply explained how to use the system. Thank You so much.
Your video was most helpful in understanding how the system works. How are you able to split and allow kids to watch two different movies? I assume you can only do that by hooking up a separate video player to the jacks in the back.....?
Hi Kurtis, Thanks for watching! You're correct. On this system that uses one disc you would need to plug in a separate device to run different content. Glad this was helpful :)
This is a very helpful video. Are you able to turn on the back dvd screens without the remote? When I click on power under rear, I do see the rear screens turn on but the screen is blank. (I have a 2015LX570)
Hi! Thanks so much for tuning in! If you are operating things from the front, you need to be in Park with the Emergency/Parking brake turned on. Then you should have more controls to play, pause, etc. for the DVD. I hope this helps.
Can you plz post a video of how to tight the screws of the entertainment system for 2013 lx570? My passenger side screen just came off with 3 nuts. Can't figure out how to put it back. Thanks
Hi Kashif, I’m so sorry to hear that. I don’t seem to have a comparable LX available right now, but I’ll be on the look out. Thank you for checking in with me.
Hi @Badar! Thanks for tuning in. I don't see a 2012 LX570 Owner's Manual on line for the US. But checking the 2011 and 2013, it shows the rear climate button on the top section of the Climate menu screen as an icon with two seated people. Indicating rear cabin passengers. Do you have that icon on your Climate screen? Give that a click and see if it will do what you need for the rear cabin controls. Hope this helps.
Sorry for this misunderstanding , i am just trying to turn on my car rear screen , i have button “Rear” on climate section, is that will work for turning on back screens !!
Sorry to hear that, Kenny. Sounds like you may need to see a Technician to diagnose the issue. I hope they are able to resolve it for you quickly. All the best.
Hi Osama, The system should be similar on an 08, but it will depend on what equipment is on the vehicle. Was it factory OEM or after market. The best thing to do is look at the head unit model information in settings on the rear system and locate the owners manual for the system. I hope this helps.
Different models have different rear entertainment systems and some dealerships install aftermarket systems. What year is your GX? I'm happy to try to help.
Hi! It will depend on the hookups that are at the bottom of the center console. Look down below the center rear AC vents and see if you have an inputs there. If so, it is possible you could have an HDMI input. Hope this helps. Thanks for being here!
@@mustardmcmuggins I'm sorry to hear that. I would see if a Technician can possibly help you at your Lexus dealership. Maybe there is a compatibility issue or a Techstream setting they can help with?
Hi Sameera, The rear entertainment systems are all pretty similar, but many dealerships are installing after market systems that have their own instructions. In general though, they all operate like TVs and DVD players, with a source button and a menu system for operation. The key is to deselect the speaker source if you don't want to hear the sound through the whole vehicle. Hope this helps.
UPDATED! I realized I wasn't sure if you were asking about the front or back screens...Hi @Samar Thanks for watching. The USB ports built on to the vehicles aren't compatible for video output for the rear screens. Some of the Lexus models (Gen 10 & Gen 11 so far) have video capability through the USB port for the front screen. Plug in to USB with a compatible USB Flash Drive, check your owner's manual for formatting, select USB for your Source through the audio system. Select Browse. Select Videos. Select Root Folder. Select the video you want to play. You need to be in Park with the Emergency Brake on. It will play WMV, AVI, MP4 and M4V for video. Here's a great video from Lexus head quarters about it: th-cam.com/video/1oc2ZPKtq64/w-d-xo.html (It kind of looks like they are playing video from iPhone, but that is not a capability.) Some older vehicles can play video through the AUX jack, but I've never seen a cable that works in the US. I've seen where people manage to get some kind of adapters and are able to use the Aux port to have video play on the front screen with the car in Park and the Emergency brake on. If you have an HDMi input at the back for Rear Entertainment or AV inputs, you might be able to get adapters and cables that would be compatible with your device as well. I hope this helps.
On my 2007 Lexus LS460 with exec package is there a way to play the radio or cd through the front speakers while my kids listen to their movie or video game through the speakers in the back of the car (not through their headphones)? at 4:40 of this video it sounds like that is what is happening but it doesn't specify whether the rear passenger is listening through the speakers or the headsets
+Mike Murphy Hi Mr. Murphy, The rear seat entertainment system is designed for the rear passengers to enjoy audio and DVD video separately from the front audio system. The video demonstrates that all passengers can enjoy the audio without the headsets with one source. Or you may have separate audios which includes the rear passengers having their headsets and the front passengers may have a different audio source through the car speaker. For more information please call our Northside Lexus Technology Center at 281-569-3307. Have a wonderful weekend.
+Mike Murphy Hi Mike, Sorry for the delay, we have been having some serious flooding here in Texas and I'm not sure if you were able to reach us yesterday. The answer is that in order to use two audio sources the rear system has to use the headphones. Then the front head unit can access AM, FM, SAT through the car's speakers. I hope this helps. All the best, Melissa @ the Northside Lexus Technology Center
Hi Renju! I’m sorry to hear about the error you’re getting. Unfortunately I’m not familiar with that error code. There is a site that seems to be a good forum for Lexus do it yourselfers and technicians called Lexus Enthusiast and another called justanswer.com/Lexus. They might be good resources for you. Hope this helps. Have a great day.
Hi @1rcbking: The system demonstrated in the video was a factory installed Lexus DVD system. Depending on the system you have some of this information will apply. If it was an after market kit installed at the dealership it might have slightly different instructions. Do you know if it is a Lexus system? Or another type of system?
Northside Lexus it’s the factory system Two DVD players in the head rest. It plays DVDs in the back with no problem. But if I put the dvd in the front it tells me to check cd
@@1rcbking I'm sorry to hear that. If you are in Park with the emergency brake on and you are still getting that message on the front screen it sounds like there could be an issue with the head unit. That would need to be diagnosed with a dealership or car accessory installer who can check the hardware for you.
Just curious - does anyone know if you can hookup a Switch or Xbox to this system? I'm assuming there has to be an AV or HDMI input in the backseat somewhere right?
Hi MoosePunch, what year and model vehicle are you in? Also, does it have the factory installed system? Look below the rear AC vents for any addition AV or HDMI ports. Hope this helps.
