You did a wonderful job. I can't believe you never tiled before. That was a great idea of marking them on the dry run. We just stack in order and then start backwards so the tiles were in order.
If you decide you want to cover that tile job, just add Black 1/2 x12 pencil trim or ceramic wall tile trim (package of 4 is about $9 @ home depot) on the caulk between shower wall and white subway tile then use black grout caulk (learn from hubby's mistake and tape shower and subway tile 1st) It will look a lot better if it really bugs you. Also, if you ever have to repair a rental again, you can buy upscale peal and stick 12x12 squares, glue down with grout in between, and it looks like tile. Just some fyis we used when $ is tight😊.

Yes three times and OMGosh it is a pain! The last one was a few months ago we ripped it down to the studs and started over. Backerboard is zero fun and so dusty. My throat hurt forever from cutting it. We were going to go with a tile shower but time creeped up and we went with a tub shower combo. We did a Allen and Roth black and white tile on the floor and I love it, a bidet which is to die for amazing, a light fixture that is black and gold from wayfair, a vanity from wayfair that looks like cement and wood on the walls as a wall treatment right over the backerboard. We redid all the electrical and plumbing too. Added a exhaust fan. A contemporary style glass door and styled it. I have a channel and I am planning on posting it you have to check it out. Yours turned out so pretty!

I think you did great on the budget you had. Getting the bathtub redone wasn’t included in the budget. But it was something that had to be done. Putting a shower curtain needed to be done too. If there’s a shower it would get water all over. I think you did a great job. I would have put peel and stick tile down. It would have been cheaper. And some doesn’t look terrible. We put some wood look in a powder room in our old house. And I loved it.

That turned out great. Kudos to you. We rented out a home and after a year went back to inspect it and the family ruined our newly remodeled bathroom by not completely closing the shower curtain and there was water damage to the tile and subfloor underneath was rotten. The tub was also completely black and filthy. At that point we decided to sell the home as we had remodeled everything inside and out in the prior several years and took a huge 100k loss. But it was definitely a huge learning experience

Great job! I think I would’ve taken the time to fix the side tile being hidden by a shower curtain because then potential buyers wonder what else you’re hiding. Just giving this advice from experience as a seller and a buyer. The bathroom looks amazing!

Nice upgrade of your bathroom. We just undated our bathroom in our rental, however in Canada and even getting a light fixture off Marketplace was able to stay just under $1000. Had to put in new toilet, vanity, paint, light fixtures and shelving. Our upstairs bathroom Reno was less costly, as I did like you paint the vanity. Surprising what a bit of paint can change the vanity so much including new hardware. I’m now onto the kitchen which is a major job. Like you we will be selling it. Can’t wait to see what else you have planned for the home before it goes up for sale. A video with the before and after would be nice to see.
