Ok. Probably a desperate stretch. Do you recommend responding to the “we have filled our freshman class, focus on the school you have been accepted to” email? Like a “thanks for placing me on your waitlist, fyi I’d still drop my chosen school for you guys” kinda message. (He sent a LOCI, just a super competitive school, he just got the “thanks for staying on our waitlist but as of now we’re full”email today). He’s happy with choice 2 but just wondered if the follow up email is overkill or maybe a nice gesture in case something crazy happens with some of their admitted students? It has happened before…he’s still on another waitlist somewhere else so I imagine there is a little wiggle room at some of these very selective schools with people applying to 25 schools of late. Not getting his hopes up, just wondering your opinion?
Great question! If the email doesn't specifically say do NOT reach out/reply then I don't see the harm in responding to that email. Let me know how it goes!
Hi there, I was waitlisted at ucsd and la and submitted my loci to ucla but was wondering in the case of ucsd, should I still reach out to them or would that negatively impact my chances?
Sorry for the delay here. Are you still on the waitlist? How is the progress? UCLA allowed a LOCI/more information while UCSD said they will not review. Unless you can find a specific counselor's email, I would just leave it be at this point since it's so late in the game. Good luck & keep me updated!
If the school says not to send a LOCI specifically then follow their instructions. If they don't explicitly state then I recommend to reach out. Additionally if you have context you left off that you think is compelling enough, you can appeal instead. Good luck!
@@CollegeCareerChamp UC Berkeley. They are not saying do not send more, they are saying it won't help and they refuse to give any potential contact information. The only way I see is on the wait list web page.

@@tyavfm Got it, if you can find an admissions officer information online you can still send them an email, doesn't need to be a full on LOCI. Just let them know you're still very interested.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
I love the checklist of things to include thank you!
I'm glad it's helpful!

Hi do you know of any cases of international students needing aid that got off the waitlist?
Hi Julia, I only know 1 that got off the waitlist and they needed aid. So it's possible!
@@CollegeCareerChamp Thank you so much for your reply. Would it be okay if you share which college?
Hi. Do you mean to say that we should send a LOCI if the school is telling us to not send anything more?
