Just got off the UCI waitlist! Although I can't be sure that the LOCI I wrote helped because it says LOCI's are not required, would definitely recommend writing and sending one anyways just to get some pressure off you and to know you did everything you could. Thanks for the help!!
Huge congratulations! That's so exciting. I love this advice. Would love to see your LOCI if you're open to sharing with us for learning purposes. If so, please email me at tiffany@collegeandcareerchampion.com Thanks!
I was waitlisted for Berkeley...I really want to get into UCSD, but I'm still awaiting the admission decision! I love this video; thank you for the information. Best of luck to you all!!
Feel free to send the UC Santa Cruz waitlist instructions so I can take a look for this year. I believe they do not allow sending LOCIs, but we can double check. tiffany@collegeandcareerchampion.com
this was a great video! i got waitlisted at both UCSD and UC Irvine so it was helpful! you were making it quite clear how it comes down what major you declared in your application and for example, i did sociology for UCSD. sociology is not an impacted major at that specific college so does that mean it will give me a better chance of getting off the waitlist?
I'm glad the video is helpful. Yes, your admissions will be usually influenced by the major you select. Sociology is not as impacted as other majors like psychology. I think you'll have a decent shot of getting in depending on how many students opted into the waitlist. Good luck and keep us updated!
Hi! I was waitlisted at UCLA and it is my absolute top choice school. I already reached out to my admissions advisor a month ago but she didn't respond. should I stil send her a LOCI email? Thank you so much :)
Hi, since it's been over a month I think it is fine to send a follow up message and send a quick note about anything else you've been up to since then. Keep me updated! Good luck.
I’m waitlisted from UCSD rn and I really want to go but ik they don’t take any letters of continued interest, but i’m also visiting campus soon so i’m very tempted to go to the admissions office 😭
I got waitlisted at UC davis for physics and I saw additional info I can put in the waitlist page. Should I fill it out because I asked my counselor and she told me I don’t need to add anything to there
Yes, definitely fill it out. That is a great opportunity to stand out and show your strong interest. If you need the template, email me at tiffany@collegeandcareerchampion.com
Since UCB specifically says not to send additional info if you're waitlisted... would it be advisable to send a letter to the Admissions Officer if I'm waitlisted?
I got waitlisted for Computer Science at UCR as a transfer. Many people call this the reject school, but this school was ideal for me and some of my top choices. If I were to be taken off, I would definitely commit. The portal doesn't request or deny anything, so should I send a LOCI as a transfer student? If so, who do I send it to, and when is the best time to send it?
Hi there, I recommend you try to send a LOCI if the admissions team doesn't tell you to NOT send one. You can try to find a contact online which I see they have information available online: admissions.ucr.edu/contact
People call it the reject UC school but it's still in the top 1.3% of global universities and it has great outcomes for careers. Great school and I hope you got in. I'm hoping I get into UCR as well
I got waitlisted by UC Irvine as a Sociology major, from March, 18th till now I'm still waiting. I recently graduated from high school and yesterday I sent the admission office my new high school transcript. My weighted gpa went from 3.98-4.03. I wrote them my LOCI and attached my high school transcript. I don't know if it will help since on the website they say that they don't consider LOCIs but I tried! Otherwise, I'll be going to Riverside.
I think that's a wise decision sending a LOCI. I have seen others students send a successful LOCI to UCI. Students are still getting off the waitlist as we speak. Are you excited about UCR? I have heard good things. You can also consider community college or reapplying for next year.
@@CollegeCareerChamp Yes, I am excited! Especially I knew that UCR is located in SoCal. I already committed to UCR. They gave me a scholarship of 13500$ per year, and I got into their honors program. (Apparently, only 250 students every year can be admitted...) So yeah either way I'm good to go. If I really ended up going to UCR I will be trying to transfer later. Thank you for your reply! I've been consistently watching your videos and they are inspiring.
@@yuekunliu1735 That's amazing so glad you're excited and SoCal is a beautiful area. Additionally getting $$ aid is even better! You worked hard and deserve it :) I'm glad my videos are helpful!
Good question, if you are able to send one it wouldn't hurt. I recommend to keep it short don't need a full on LOCI since it should be more conversational via messaging.
This video just brought some calmness. I am currently on UC BERKELEY waitlist. I’ve filled the attached forms to accept my position on the waitlist… do I have to write a LOCI in addition?
I am glad I'm able to help. Any progress since receiving the waitlist notification? If Cal doesn't have a note explicitly stating not to send in a letter then go ahead and write a LOCI.
@Alex good question, some UCs allow you to add attachments or a note to your waitlist opt in so I would definitely take that opportunity because it doesn’t hurt to try. From the students that have gotten in that I know of, all wrote LOCIs so I would imagine if you don’t have one compared to others it might put you at a disadvantage. Good luck
@@CollegeCareerChamp Thank you! UC Berkeley didn’t have the attachment option, would I just email them? Also it is the EECS major which is already VERY competitive, is that bad news?
@@AlexFlores-ol2cb you can email the admissions counselor aligned to your area. Usually you can find them on the UC Berkeley website. Your major is super competitive , did you submit a second major request? If you do reach out, make sure to add what you've been up to on the technical side to reaffirm your commitment to the major.
@@CollegeCareerChamp You mean like did I put a second option for my major? I did put Chemical Engineering in the College of Chemistry. And okay i’ll make sure to include what i’ve been up to! And that template you included in the video has worked for some students?

I'm not sure where your admission data is from but UC Davis current freshman admist rate is 37.5 overall (32% if you are from CA). $59% admit rate for transfers. More competitive than UC Santa Cruz so your information is misleading.
I’m a transfer student waitlisted at UCSD currently. I applied for a Political Science major, and as far as I know that’s not an impacted one there. Do I have a decent shot at getting in?
