An excellent job mate, attractive design, imaginative concept, inviting and welcoming. It tells the visitor something of what kind of people live there. Well done. Cheers.
Really like the design. I'm a lover of doors. Wood doors, metal doors and everything in between. I make primarily metal sliding doors for my clients so using a metal framework is common. I'm about to post a new video this Friday of a metal sunburst door I'm making now.
not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can stream all the new movies on Instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my girlfriend during the lockdown :)
Nice work Joey, I'm just about to finish 2 sets of Merbau French doors (4 doors in total) for a client. I'll have the video up this weekend, it's amazing how much work goes into them. I had 2 mortise locks, 2 mortise strike plates, 4 flush bolts, 4 inlay panels and a total of 24 joints to put the frames together. I underquoted by about 2 weeks.
Very nice door but I would use bigger knob handles and different lock with thumbturn knob on the inside so you're able to unlock without the need of key which is also handy in emergency situation :)
How well will this stand up to moisture and weathering over time do you think? Is there a reason why you didn’t pin the pieces of wood along with the glue?
another fine vid and project. Doors were quite the feature on that house build How do you sharpen your tools? They seem sharper than a wickedly sharp thing. Vid perhaps?
Man - putting in finished doors on an unfinished project like that seems risky. I can just imagine the flow of people, tools, etc. and potential damage. Would it not have been wiser for the owner to wait a bit for the install?
These doors are very cool man. I have a door I'm working on that resembles a Greg Klassen river table. hopefully it turns out anywhere near as nice as this.
Sweet. Thanks for this. I was looking for some inspiration for what to do with my front door and I might give this a go, I reckon. BTW, some of that Auckland 'liquid sunshine' sound in the background there made me nostalgic.
Hi, First of all, I have watched all your videos and you have nice techniques and skills! I like to see how other professionals do their projects and work out their "problems" :) I have one question: Shouldn't you need to insulate the doors? I know in the country I live we have regulated standards for it. Maybe it's because I live in Belgium and it's cold most of the time :p English is not my mother tongue, please excuse any errors on my part. Greetings from Belgium
Very cool project.
It would be cool to put some insulation inside the door. It would give better acoustic and heat insulation.
I agree with you !
Nice making concept of bigger size door manufacturing, it's helpful for us..
Great job Joey , nice mix of traditional and modern joinery methods .
Nice job ... easy, simple and straight to the point , the idea it self is so great .. thanx for sharing man.
Look great door. But hopefully you should provide the list of materials you used.? Thanks
Best front doors I've ever seen!! Fine craftsmanship!!
cheers
Lovely work.....quality job.....money well spent by the client.....
Greg Kieser cheers
Beautiful Doors, beautiful work
This is officially the most creative door and door making method.
You are awesome
+Majid Alamri cheers, yea it's a bit different.
Different and stunning in looks, I think the client will be more than happy. Lots of weight as well I bet, hence the four hinges.

+Carlo Antonio Martinelli thank you

+One Man Band Woodworks bugger! Sounds cool though. Under quoting is pretty normal for me, sometime I just want the job because it will be fun
I'm the same, otherwise it's just melamine kitchens and wardrobes
That is the most beautiful door I think I've ever seen. Well done. You are an artist.
Beautiful doors. Will they stand up to cold wet weather without being damaged?
Yes
Awesome Design. Like it.
Nice job. Good looking door.
That's a cracking bit of kit.
Very nice door but I would use bigger knob handles and different lock with thumbturn knob on the inside so you're able to unlock without the need of key which is also handy in emergency situation :)
Very nice project!
Cool door. An added treat with 'That's Entertainment' by The Jam playing in the background.
Looks great, so long as I don’t have to dust them!
Awesome job. Looks beautiful. Very jealous.
How well will this stand up to moisture and weathering over time do you think? Is there a reason why you didn’t pin the pieces of wood along with the glue?
Those are really awesome-looking doors!
Great job! 👍 👍 👍
Those are some wild doors! Great video and build.
Pete Brown cheers
Beautiful work mate.
Really cool doors. Always first class work!
+Bill Hantzopoulos cheers Bill
Looks good, but surely the soft cedar around the keyhole will be destroyed in no time.
It looks amazing! 😊😊😊
maestro es genial tu trabajo
Pretty good. Imaginative. Thanks for sharing
Awesome video, thanks for sharing the process!
I didn't follow completely. Did you not use the weatherstripping we saw you install? Otherwise, very nice and very unique doors. Really impressive.
very cool, I really like that
I'm surprised you didn't insulate the panel in the gaps of the steel frame. Mild climate?
yip no need to be that warm!
Beautiful work and man I love clear cedar!! The art is in the random, I can't imagine anything harder, we are just not wired that way. Well Done!
+Cardinal Points cheers, yea it was tricky getting the random random.
How many hours did the door take in total? I love the design & overall look.
Hmm I think a week
Those are awesome doors!
Should have put some insulation in the doors.
it seems like that square knob wouldn't let you get the grip to comfortably pull a heavy exterior door open
spicymmmmm it's not too bad, as it's cedar it very light and feels a bit weak to use. so it might get an upgrade down the road
That looks bad ass.
like your shorts, where did you get them?
actually have no idea
Volcom ;)
thanks
another fine vid and project. Doors were quite the feature on that house build
How do you sharpen your tools? They seem sharper than a wickedly sharp thing.
Vid perhaps?
cheers , i have a vid on restoring a 51/2 plane. that shows how i sharpen. cheers
I really liked these doors!
Would drive me nuts being able to use my key hole as a peep hole as well.
Nice Job Joey!
Nice work look good

Yes . But owners are the boss.
hermosa puerta... beautiful door!

Love the doors but I think metal hardware would have been better.

Jens Enckels in my climate insulation in the doors is not necessary. coldest day is like 5deg
Mhh, that temperature would be nice :)
its amazing.. by the way what is the price of this door
3k
nice work! And great Idea!
Love it.
you are really awesome
Amazing!
What did you use to protect them from the weather and how much money would I expect to spend for this job?
finished with Teak oil. this house has a large canopy over the entrance so it really will never get rained on or see much direct sun. 3k. cheers
What kind of woods are?
awesome like usually ;)
I like your work man
Great work, nice door - but why this kind of lock for an outside-door. It's everything - but not safe. :-/
That came out incredible!

Круасавчег! Экселент ворк! только абы попроще.
