Mosasaurs lacks fins, this means that it's mobility is seriously lacking compared to dolphins and sharks. This also limits it's food source to big slow animals, since small fish would out maneuver it. With little choice for food, whatever animal that can sustain it would likely go extinct quickly, thus leading it to extinction due to the loss of food source.
That’s old and incorrect, besides they lived in tropical climates so deep underwater wouldn’t be realistic of them, plus they were too large and ate too much for that and would have to evolve a ton to be able to be down there, also, we’d see newer teeth or bones being washed up or in fish’s stomachs
