That’s typical for adults that grew up around trauma in their fundamental years. She also had a lot of hate for other women. That too is very typical for women raised by highly dysfunctional women. I love her so much but, as someone that was raised with some crazy generational trauma myself, this is more typical than we talk about in our society.
I’m a 46 year old brown woman that maintains Complex PTSD and it’s tough as hell to not become a statistic.
She looked absolutely stunning as an older lady. It's amazing that someone can go through all that in their youth and still look so amazing as an older woman. Her life came full circle beautifully. Thank God she saw her golden years.

I agree that was a horrible year ! Cause we lost so many of our great R&B singers that could really sing.
Robin Gibb, Davy Jones, Don Cornelius, Dick Clark and many more died that year. Then on December of 2012 Latinos lost Jenni Rivera who died in a plane crash in Mexico.

Idk per Wikipedia (I know this isn't always accurate) her adopted father would get drunk and would be abusive. He would wake her up in the middle of night and beat her and make her sing for him and his drunk friends. Allegedly because of this she always had difficulty singing on command because of the trauma.

i think Tina was probably over compensating for her loveless marriage by bragging about all the stuff Ike bought her. When people are in manipulative domestic situations where they are being brainwashed, they try and over sell the good the person does for them to help bury the mass amount of hurt they do to them.. its a coping mechanism, like working a job you hate to your core but then spending excessively to compensate yourself, this of course doesnt help because its your mental heath that is being compromised. In 1985, Tina bragged to People magazine that she spent $5,000 an hour shopping. She loves talking about her expensive things. In her second book she talks more about designer brands than her sons. She gave every detail of her wedding except why her family wasn't there.
