    Why generally the MTA is +45° ? Why not 30° , 50° or for instance 60°?

    Bro this after fault voltage reference is being taken open Delta VT ?

      If it is electromechanical relay then you have to install 3 set of ipt and ipt secondary connection will be open delta type and these two terminal should be fed to the earth fault relay. But in case numerical relay there is no requirement of ipt for open delta connection.

      @@relayprotectionelectrical thanks bro , without open Delta how you ll find that this earth fault or overcurrent in numerical relay . Because for both fault relay ll sense high current , how numerical relay ll distinguish earth fault .?

      @@Rajivkumar12345S in numerical relay you just put the settings reference for directional earth fault as zero sequence voltage polarization. Relay automatically calculate open delta or zero sequence voltage.
