I wish they made it so Seraphines mom was from Zaun and her dad was from Piltover, that would be so cool and such a good motivation as her ultimate goal to unite the two cities
YES, I saw someone comment that her inspiration was to unite Zhaun and Piltover because she lived in both. She didn’t btw she spent her first less then a year of living in Zhaun and by the time she’s older she wouldn’t remember that, and it doesn’t seem heroic or even fitting to have the be her inspiration. I completely agree that making her parents from different lands would be the best for uniting both cities, that would feel really heroic and give her a less selfish vibe.
well you must be new here then....back in the day riot used to just put whatever into runeterra and that was that, they designed whatever was cool and slapped a story to it... so all the old champions were like that....
@@uchiha617hh That's true, but lately they've been trying to have a cohesive lore. They may or may not have been completely successful in that endeavor, but they were trying. Even Zoe and Yuumi have pretty solid spots in the lore, but Seraphine is full of unaddressed holes that Necrit has pointed out. The old champ style was fine when that was the norm, but it's not anymore.
Aatrox when he get trapped in a sword : can't breath, can't feel, can't talk, only thought, wanted to *game end* himself Hundred of Brekarn soul when they get trapped in a floating flatform : "this is fine"

I don't feel bad for Skaner's people at all, between an old forgettable race of monsters and technology, i choose technology any day lol, besides, Skarner is a crappy old ass champion xD.
It was how Malphite, Taric and Ezreal originally ended up as champions originally back when the game itself with summoners and all were still canon (Malphite and Taric were legit aliens and Ezreal just got his glove that made him end up getting pulled in accidentally every now and then)
I would actually be fine with that because althought what they were doing were shitty in itself they were still coming clean with it unlike this clusterfuck of a mess

@@zenzei7907 Could you imagine Sona having a twitter account similar to Seraphine but also bringing in some mute people problems on her way to suddenly being pulled into KDA? That would just feel more organic and all compared to making a whole new champion for it
Tbh at this point I can't even understand what they expected with the realese of this champion. They already said in a video that they realized that the community likes when Champions have a good connection with the Lore and other Champions (Examples: Sylas, Senna, Yone etc...). Then they created Seraphine, I understand that you want a champion to give skin to but, you could predict all of this backslash just by knowing something that you stated in one of your own videos.
No try to understand it, her motivation is to unite the two cities who have been enemies for ages... The as necrit said, it was an initial lore rework.. to remove the brackern backlash which is not an imp part of her lore... Further rework should include the key points bringing more color and description to her lore.. Including her key motivation, Cloth scheme etc..
I wish she has a canon meeting with one of the more twisted individuals like Singed or Urgot. Maybe that'd prove some form of struggle to her, trying to comprehend how such messed up individuals can exist and whether or not it's worth saving the city where such individuals are the norm and not the exception
Yeah man starving exploited underclass aside zauns pretty much a factory for terrorist, organized crime, and freaks of nature and youd have to a very heavy of mix of optimistic and stupid to think that can change non violently. Urgot : "I seek an uprising to weed out the weak." Swain : "I seek to unite all under Noxus in preparation of a bigger threat." Skarner : "I seek to return my race back to normal." Seraphine : *"Music go brrr. We defeated the CEO of racism."*
Mordekaiser: "I rip and teared for my belief for an afterlife of glory for one's power, only to find an empty plane of existence to disappear to, so I decided to build a hall for myself from the souls of others!" Lillia: "I was born from the dream of something that holds dreams, but it's starting to die from not getting dreams anymore, so I'll go out and get those dreams for it myself." Seraphine: "Hearing people's a headache, but people not like each other so I listen anyway thanks to this rock that keeps screaming in agony"
Um... Is it really racism if both city's are just in the same country. Discrimination is fine and all but I think that kind of word only works quite farther than that. Like Ionia/Noxus far.
Considering she's supposed to be basically the same one as the KDA universe Seraphine, there's no way they would make her evil in any way, she's supposed to be all #relatable and yada yada (or, you know something something girl power and Mary Sue or something)
If just if, the soul in the crystals are actually in agony while being used as hextech crystals and when she sings she make those in agony to calm down for sometime that would make her lore more bearable
@@richardhuang7158 i mean it's so easy to fix her lore though? like her kit is similar to sona and her out of place outfit - their is an aspect of rythm long ago that travel to many places to play music and sing like a bard, and because of that he has countless number of trysts... and one of his decendants isd seraphine and another one is sona who has the weapon of the said aspect though no one knows

Well now that they fixed the inherit problem in her lore now they can add to her by simply giving her more stories to flesh her out. They can fill up how she came so popular and give her some character flaws. Also now that she doesn't fully understand what the soul in the crystal wants they can have a story line for her where she begins to understand about what is going on with the souls in the crystals and tries to do something about it but then some higher ups in Piltover try to stop her. A good antagonist for that plot line could be Camile who tries to keep her family business running.
@@thechainwarden I thought something like that Seraphine would have travel somehow to the Crystal Scar, met Skarner and learn the truth, then trying to protect them both while trying Zaun and Piltover have some peace, we know Camille is involved, also Viktor and Jayce There's potential for good stories, Seraphine isn't a bad person for not doing anything even knowing where the crystals come from, maybe singing it's the way to bring peace to Piltover and Zaun with the help of the Brackern Soul after learning the truth, maybe the one she has wants to help so they can free more souls from the crystals leaving them powerless while not killing anyone
Watch them just say that her Twitter depression is canon and that's her struggle. The problem with her is that she still doesn't fit the world. This is like shoving Rapunzel into a random tower in Game of Thrones, and not a human Rapunzel, a cartoony Pixar Rapunzel. This is basically season 8 of Game of Thrones, random ass fan service that don't make sense. The idea was cool, but there's a reason why it was fan theory. Another problem of why she feels so off is her playstyle, it feels shoved in and last second. If her playstyle was more defined and unique then it would fit her unique style in the Lore, gameplay and Lore are different things but Gameplay is suppose to exaggerate the Lore and make it almost a legend. Think of any champion, lets just say Yasuo. His gameplay makes you wonder about his power level in the Lore and how much he can actually do against champions like Zed. It makes you wonder about his abilities that would fit in the Lore. Even with simple champions like Sett gameplay wise, His glowing W look makes you imagine him using his vastaya powers during a fight in the lore, if he even has any. But with Seraphine, you look at her character design and abilities and you just think to yourself, why? What does this really do to add to her character. It's basically Sona but Sona actually has a good backstory and that's the problem. Seraphine's Gameplay adds a little bit to the Lore but her Lore is terrible in the first place so it's even worst. You can bring up Aatrox and Riven's similarities but Aatrox is basically a god killer and his destructive big motion in his abilities show that power, His ultimate and His Q's.
I disagree on the playstyle, she plays more like a nami than a sona. Sona is the best scaling support on game but has a shitty laning phase while Seraphine scales alright and has a pretty strong early game. She can do alot of things if she manages land her slow and hard to hit abilities which is identical to how namı plays out.
for me seraphine's design and clothes shoud be a mix between piltover and zaun she wants them to unite so she having clothes that are a mix from both cities would make sense
nah that would not make her marketable. She gotta have a pink cool dress and shit. Honestly this is comparable to project irelia, and some other skins that have been released lately, like that one from thresh. They clearly changed their designers, for the worst.
Wouldn't that piss the two sides even more? I mean i know zero about the lore but if the two cities hate each other so much mixing their culture would piss them off. A cool idea though.

What I don't like it's exactly what they did with Seraphine, cute pink dress and celestial-like clothes? Great skin line! Look at the Star Guardian skins. The problem? It's not a skinline, it's supposed to be her classic look, it's horrible. She finds a common enemy in her alliance with Jinx and learns how to use her voice for good. On top of which will also explain the flashy clothes because Jinx likes to also stand out and im sure Seraphine will pick some stuff up from her.
The more I learn about her, the more I dislike her. The first part of this video nailed it. If she was an opera singer or some type of odd guitarist or some strange Piltover musician, that would make it amazing. Vi's theme song comes to mind. Someone else in the comments laid out a really good summary for what she could have been if she was from Zaun. And maybe she could have made friends with Janna? But instead we get rainbow puke OnlyFans Delle Bellphine pimped out of a candy store using the souls of a race to power her "hover board".
I still dont think the patches help the relationship between Seraphine and the Brackern. The lore implies that the Brackern are “fine” with their servitude by being kind to the people who extracted them and are using their souls to fuel machinery. Doesn’t make sense to me.
It could be better if the Bracken Soul considers Seraphine to be a important tool because it doesn't trust her completely, willing to step in and tell her some important details before stepping back.
Well you need to remember the Brakern arent human, they dont think like us. So when that Brakern sensed the genuinely innocent song of Seraphine, it responded how it thought Seraphine deserved. If Seraphine had been an evil person or something then the brakerns reaction would have been different.
@@rexerator Yeah. I would consider what the Bracken has to say to be the most important thing because to me, that would change Seraphine's entire appearance.

@Damani Campbell Too many anime weebs and UWU simps are already loving Seraphine. I can’t imagine Riot further addressing this character in the future. Her only potential was a skin for her participation in KDA, and that shit is over.
Her design still looks like not Piltovan. I've seen some fan redesign of her outfit and they look more suitable for Piltover/Zaun. And she still is "very famous in Piltover and Zaun", but she hasn't mentioned in ANY story, even indirectly. So it seems like she's famous only in her imagination LuL And after the changes, there are even more questions. Like, for what reason the soul is helping her? How exactly did it help her? If the help was very small, how did it change her issue with a lot of voices in her head? P.S.: *Edited after the end of the video.* They could have made her parents from separate regions, like, the mother is from Zaun, the father is from Piltover. And that could have driven her to unite both towns.
Had Riot done their homework, yes, they may have been able to make a few new lore mashes between Zaun & Pilt champs that reference Seraphine. We can only hope they do in future lore updates.
I wish riot made it a thing where Seraphine actually knew about Skarner's race, and she goes around trying to tell people. Start a revolution! Save the Brackern!

Also, you can't be POOR yet afford to move and STAY at Piltover AND THEN BUY A FUCKING HEXTECH CRYSTAL WITH YOUR * SAVINGS * those are the most important value of all of Piltover and not everyone have custom Hextech equipment. I used to be on roleplay forums and I was on one about League at some point. If I even suggested a story like that at the time for a custom character I would have been laughed at. EDIT: FFS, when she was only a twitter account and soundcloud, I really thought she was the Aspect of Music from Targon. And even making her having to flee Piltover/Zaun and climb Targon for whatever reason would have been a 1000 times better Lore, would have covered for her personality, clothings and lack of inner struggles once she became the Aspect.

I think riot is reverting to their 2009 storytelling. Summed up: "It would take a miracle to become popular overnight, and to even get out of Zaun and have a decent life in Piltover afterwards, but Seraphine DID JUST THAT."
Go read the story "City of Iron and Glass". Seraphine's entire characteristic of wanting to unite Piltover and Zaun is ripped out of another character's lore

I'll be begrudgingly satisfied if they keep her as-is, but treat her as non-existent for the purposes of their promotional material. If she shows up in the 2021 ranked season cinematic, then I'm going to have some very unkind words for Riot Games.
Even by changing the lore Seraphine is still bad - Her design doesn't fit Piltover much less Runeterra or even League itself. - Seraphine's voice is the complete opposite of what she's being marketed as and turned out sounding like a b*tch. - Seraphine's kit is disappointing she's literally Sona with Neeko's Q, Zoe's W passive on her own W, and Skarner's E. - Her "ultimate" skin. I could continue picking on her but I'm pretty sure you get the idea.
I disagree on the kit, she is a really fun and good character to play. She fits really well with the rest of enchanter supports. However I totally agree on the rest.
Her kit is fine. Problem is everything else, including the in game model. She moves way way way way way way way way way too much on her fucking hover board.
I would like to point out that her motivations are there. Her homes, two places where she grew up, are constantly at odds, and she wants nothing more to see all of the people that she cares about together. So, she continues singing, with the hopes that they can all continue to harmonize.
You know what would be interesting and possible from they way her story is told. What if the Brackern soul is actually pulling a Darkin move and is trying to control and influence Seraphine so the soul can have a body to free its people.
So to summarize, her lore has seen a decent improvement, but still needs a lot of work to be really any good. I'd classify her current (modified) lore as mediocre at best, as good as an amateur author's writing.
I personally think otherwise, I think a 13 year old could write this as part of a league fan fiction. They didn’t fix anything, if anything they made her more boring. At least before, she had the charm of being a villain, now she’s ignorant.
Does her new story remind everyone of sonas new story? The whole performance to soothe and help people, where she starts out nervous, but then focuses on her friend, and then the feelings of the people around her...the only difference is sona actually has a legitimate threat to her, giving her charecter real depth/motivation with the presance of the mage seekers
I believe what’s wrong with seraphine is that she’s too cheery-looking but they tried so hard to give her a sad story; child with unstable magic abilities, poor parents, Zaunite, ancient dead race communication, and so on. Yet, she comes out on top, in a city where everything is about “make it or break it”. I still don’t get how Ekko grew up in the same conditions but he’s still in Zaun living in poverty. Sure, he accepts Zaun for what it is and prefers to live there but Seraphine apparently “hears” Zaun better than anyone and wants to unite both cities... so somehow her parents saved up enough money to ...buy her a shard of a hextech crystal which makes her a star.. immediately?! Her lore is just garbage and there’s no justifying it. They could’ve done so much more with her if they didn’t make her a star in minutes. We don’t even know piltover as a place that appreciates music... they’re all about inventing and progress so how is her music related to that? Garbage! She should’ve had a deeper connection to Zaun, she should’ve been blind or something that gives more purpose to her inhuman hearing or her stupid platform, she should’ve been struggling to become the next rising star, etc. They even could’ve made it so skarners lore was expanded upon by having her look into hextech crystals.. she could’ve been this crazy, magical girl who heard things within the crystals but no one believed her and maybe clan Ferros would try to shut her up to keep their integrity. I mean, I doubt anyone cares about a dead race being used for power buttttt... ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN A POPSTAR THAT LIKES TO SMELL THE ZAUN GRAY FROM HER PERCH IN PILTOVER!!!
I think it's fine that Seraphine's motivation is to unite Piltover & Zaun as much as she can. Due to her disability when she was a child (not being able to control hearing the voices of others in her head), she understands how it feels to be alone and having no one to understand what you're going through. But through her crystal, she now has something that understands her. The crystal also indicated to her that, if people don't understand each other, it can lead to conflict that would spiral out of control, similar to what she experienced when was a child. Seraphine also brings up the fact that she's afraid that her own voice would get lost in the sea of voices she's singing about. Then the crystal indicates to her that they're all influenced by the voices around them. So I do think she acknowledges that she doesn't truly know herself, but that the way she's searching for that is through trying to truly understand others.
How to fix Seraphine: Make her Targonian everything up there seems to be more about struggle, magic, and sparkles. Her appearance and her lore of being a popstar would be fitting. Being an Aspect of Music will give her a reason to exist just it is, before travelling to other lands like PnZ.
I love the champ, but riot seriously fucked up with her runeterra concept... She makes SO much sense in the KDA universe, executed PERFCTLY. She has little to no good lore in runeterra tho :/
That's not just your opinion, she IS a Mary Sue. A character that never changes, always succeeds and everyone loves her. Even Rey from Disney's Star Wars trilogy is less of a Mary Sue than Seraphine.
I mean she's first generation Piltovan of Zaun immigrants, ppl of mixed backgrounds often struggle with their mixed heritage and in turn their identity, as some one who's in between she has a unique perspective of both conflicting sides and so it would be natural for her to seek ways for both groups of ppl to coexist, many find this common ground through mediums like music and since she grew up with little it make sense her best trait to bring this about is her voice, her own natural born talent. A lot of this rlly goes w/o saying
But it not well developed, they just say "hey, she has feels because of this" and that's all. It's not well exploited, like all the points her lore tries to make.
This is great, but this seems like after the fact. Like it wasn't their original intention (there is a slim chance it was) but that was out the window. Im glad you can find it relatable though.
@@Monar88 it's literally all over in her lore bio about how she see's the two sides detest each other and how she wants to bridge resentment and misunderstanding of each opposing side
Yeah, they should've used something stronger. Like duct tape. Duct tape works great for most things. But maybe not a dam. Guess we're back to square one.
@@Jeff-lc7lp hopefully the metal twisting support (since for rior sera is a mid mage... with that kit who rely on others for work...) will deliver such feel
I think a simple fix they could use to have Seraphine personally want Zaun and Piltover in harmony would be to have her mom from Piltover and her dad from Zaun - instead of both of them from down there - and that she could see how beautiful the song between them was, that they fell in love with one another through the music hextech they each worked on and shared with Seraphine when she was growing up. Then, she sees Pilties and Zaunites fighting all the time and she wants to sing to show them that if people come together and try and learn about one another, love and harmony can be found, just like with her parents.
If you look at seraphines ult ingame, it’s a wave of sound wich she is making through singing, and charming the opposing champion I Think this is the reason for seraphine to just become the most known singer throughout piltover and zaun from one day to the other That her singing has some sort of a charming ability. Mby also the crystal is impowerring her ability to charm people or guiding her how to use her powers, hens why she only became popular after getting help from the crystal It also sound like you describe that she can her what people are feeling, through sound and music, mby that’s also the reason why she can charm people with her singing. That she sings in a way that triggers something in peoples minds
I feel that it would be interesting if Seraphine's lore talked more about her ability to listen to the voices of the Brackern. Maybe she could start some kind of revolution in Piltover and Zaun about the ethical use of Hextech Crystals through her songs similarly to how Sylas started a revolution with mages in Demacia.
Definitely. Another comment point out that also the crystal could be influencing Sera in order to make her very visible and loud in both Piltover and Zaun so there's more possibility for any brackern to recognize a call for help in Sera's singing without she being conscious of it. Like being an amplifier.
Saraphine should be an air head who doesn't understand hardship, that will make her seem condescending, but really it's just her naivety and innocence, though her conclusions for why hardship exists come across as someone who never worked a day in her life - and that would be right. Her appearance: She was a blonde but privileged girl before she was blessed, (blessed by who you wonder?) she listened to no one, cared not for anyone, only herself in maintaining her comfort in life (pampered by her dotting parents who constantly called her their "angle". Until the day finally came, where she would taste the hardship of empathy, during the war (the war between Piltover and Zaun), though her parents did well to keep her sheltered from such things, eventually though, the war came to her door step, she heard people screaming in the streets before, but seeing it was something else entirely. Her parents could not protect her anymore from the cruelty of the world, and given her rebellious and spoiled nature, instead of hiding from it, she ventured out to see if she could help. When she saw the destruction of war, and the blood being spilled on the streets, young and old laying dead in the streets, her heart sank even though she didn't understand, understand why all the pain and suffering. She only knew that she wanted it to stop. So while she was traveling through the bloody streets, taking in the ruins of a battle (while not trying to get herself dirty), she found a little boy laying in the street who was still alive, but bleeding badly. Saraphine ran to the boy, not knowing what she would do. She found herself driven by some unknown force which she had never experienced before; it was empathy. Her heart though sanking, was soring deeply with pain, she held the little boy's head on her lap, and for once did not mind the blood even as it was staining her cloths, the little boy unaware of his surroundings asked "Mommy?", this question struck Saraphine's heart cords, because she knew that no matter how she would answer, it would not be satisfying to one who was dying. All Saraphine could do was cry. And when she did cry, her heart began to sing, a song of mourning and anguish, and without fully understanding, she found herself singing to this tone in her heart. It was soothing to the little boy, for it was the song of caring, and the little boy thought he was hearing an angel. And in that moment as Saraphine continued singing, with her tears dropping on the boy, they began to heal the boy, for Saraphine was going through a transformation, with her hair turned long and pink, and her dress stained with blood now glittered with blue and white, for her heart was pure and clean, her voice even became more powerful. And onlookers who had escaped from the previous night's massacre (people who were in hiding during the slaughter) came out when they heard the song. Saraphine's voice was gentle enough to not harm the boy, but was actually strong enough to heal him, and yet her voice was powerful enough to penetrate through the walls of the surrounding houses. Her voice was an elegant mix of gentleness and strength, so that all who heard her voice, would not be deafened by it. So when those who were hidden came to see who was singing, no one recognized Saraphine, but her song kept their attention, even the little boy who was now healed, remained with his head on her lap, just enjoying her song. One little girl grasping her mom's skirt asked "Mommy, is that an angel?", this was Saraphine nearing the end of her song, so when Saraphine finally came to realizing her surroundings, was able to hear the mother's reply "That is a saraphine, dear, they are one of the most powerful angels." And though Saraphine knew she was not really an angel, she decided to let that title be her name, especially if it brought people comfort. So when she sat the boy up and he found his mom who had previously lost her son, Saraphine stood and came to realize her transformation, both accepting that and the people's attention on her. She realized her voice was powerful, and figured she must have been born with magic that only awakened just now. And that is where I would end Saraphine's story bio for now. *I realize this isn't something Riot will use for Saraphine's story, but since they seem to be lacking a story for her, I figured that I would just provide one.* I realize my story for her will not be completely accurate for Runeterra, but I hope whoever reads this will find it enjoyable enough. Have a good day.
yo if anyone reads this. remember the girl in ww story? it could be her especially with his line: "i knew her, but not from where" so you could try and put that together
I remain unimpressed after these "edits" and her story.Despite all of riots attempts to bring out some kind of emotion with this character I still feel nothing whenever I think about her.
I think you could see it as her wanting to hear more of the voice in the crystal and the voice only sings when the cities get somewhat close. So her wanting to hear the voice completely is the reason she wants to unite the citys
I've notifications turned on but i didnt receive a notification for this video, i was just lucky enough to go to TH-cam landing page and find it this early.
The biggest question sticking out to me is, "How did she get this power/What exactly is it?" She can apparently "hear" people's souls and the emotions in them in the form of music, and she can somehow sing back to those souls in a way that resonates with them, which is why she became so popular so quickly -- her song hits each person in exactly the right way to resonate with them. But how? What's the basis of that power? If it's just some type of basic magic then why hasn't anyone else been able to do this before, especially if she can do it so easily and on instinct? It seems to me like her ability is pretty unique, and so therefore it must come from some unique source. Following that, the next question is, "How does this fit into the rest of the lore?" I think it would be kind of silly for this seemingly unique and rather interesting ability to be relegated to a side-character, someone who is just kinda... there. Who doesn't do anything in the lore, like a more photogenic Gragas. I think they could probably set up the answer for the latter by providing a compelling enough answer to the former, and I have an idea I would like to propose for this. Her ability seems to be soul-based, which is kind of a big deal. Not just anyone can use soul magic, and even the "mere mortals" who can don't seem to find it too easy. So what if her ability's origin comes from some sort of foreign source, something that was not originally part of her? Something like a soul shard or fragment from some kind of "Higher Being", like a Celestial or something. This "Higher Being" was associated with souls and/or emotions, but some time in the past its soul was split into pieces (maybe it was "killed" or maybe it did it to itself intentionally). Some of these shards found their way to Runeterra, and one found its way to Seraphine. This particular fragment of this soul, which was full of optimism and joy and kindness, sort of melded with hers in a symbiotic relationship, allowing it to survive as part of her soul and granting her its power. This is why she has such a bright personality, always looking for the good in everyone and everything and trying to help reconcile Zaun and Piltover, as well as why she is able to "hear" other's souls and sing back to them. It's that bright, joyful soul fragment that has literally become a part of who she is. This leaves a lot of potential for growing her story, as well as introducing other characters (who could eventually become champions) or even updating original ones. I mentioned how multiple pieces of this "Higher Being's" soul fell to Runeterra, and perhaps some of these other soul fragments found their way into other people (or perhaps even animals?), imbuing their most prominent characteristics upon their "hosts," such as curiosity, competitiveness, compassion/empathy, vengeance, and the like. Where this could go from here is that these soul shards bonded to different people are calling out to each other, but they're so distant from each other their calls are faint. Seraphine can't hear these calls now because it is drowned out by all the "noise" of Zaun and Piltover, but if she ever goes out to a secluded enough place or somehow the clamor settles down enough she'll be able to hear that calling, and she'll want to chase it and eventually will meet up with some of them. I think it would be sort of interesting to see the clashes of personality between the more positive, light-hearted hosts like Seraphine and the more negative, grim/dark ones, and how they try to work around those differences. And since Seraphine is all about trying to help mend old wounds in people's hearts, she could play a key role in their getting along. Idk. Maybe I'm overthinking all this and Riot does just want another side-character. But I think that would be a shame.
Here are a couple ideas off the top of my head for characters based on the soul shards’ features: - Curiosity: The host has this sort of childish wonder for the world and constantly seeks to understand how it works, yet is incredibly knowledgeable and far from naive due to his love of learning. He loves sharing their own expertise and seeking new knowledge. For him, learning and teaching is the greatest calling in life, though actually applying his knowledge to practical applications (such as inventing) is not something he is as passionate about -- that is seen more as a means to the end of acquiring more knowledge. While he does have morals (he doesn’t go around kidnapping people to vivisect), he also considers nothing sacred or taboo (he is completely willing to steal and dissect already deceased cadavers). - Empathy: The host acts as a sort of local nexus for the emotions of everyone around him, absorbing the emotions people feel and projecting them in an aura around himself. However, he has developed an iron grip over his own emotions in order to avoid getting swept away into other’s emotions. Generally, this mental discipline also allows him to control his emotional aura, suppressing it in part or in totality at will. He lives in Ionia, so the widespread suffering caused by the war has caused him to become a veritable fountain of life for Azakana, who can feed off of many people’s worth of negative emotion all at once just by being close to him. The fact that several follow him around yet do not harm him (not that they could if they tried, due to his iron will letting him resist their manipulations) has earned him the moniker "demon lord" among the Ionians who know about Azakana. Some of the more older and more powerful Azakana have even become protective of their meal ticket, even tentatively obeying him at times for fear of him suppressing his aura and starving them away. - Vengeance/Penance: The host can "feel" the physical and emotional pain of others around him as if it were his own, and he can feel who is responsible for that pain. This results in him being extremely short-tempered. This “phantom pain” builds up over time and takes a long time to fade unless he offloads it onto those responsible for causing that pain. By forcing those responsible to feel the pain they caused, in what he calls "Penance," he can cleanse himself of that pent-up agony. He does this by inflicting “phantom pain” directly into the targets’ minds/souls. This pain can cause the target to feel multiple types of pain at once without actually being harmed, such as broken bones or grief. For people with weak minds and/or too much to repent for, this may be overwhelming and fatal, but since it affects their soul directly even death cannot help them escape their Penance.
There’s something cool I think everyone misses when you play seraphine in her story she talks about hearing everyone song and longs for them to come together to make a beautiful song well a really cool Easter egg of this is seraphine passive if you get near other allied champions you’ll hear music as more allied champions gather around you more instruments get added to the background music when all five champs are in there they make up one of seraphine released songs that’s a node to her lore each character has a song and when we all come together we make beautiful music !
But she have it (in the kda universe)! Only reason for explain the mary sue birth, 0 coerence with estetic and plothole with itty bit of story around it
Theres one way to fix her lore, make her an indie idol that went from region to region singing channeling everyones voice, then when she came to zaun and piltover she heard the voices of the crystals which made her curious, she began collecting them and in doing so she began to hear a song that as she continued to gather more crystals it became stronger and clearer, so she stayed in P&Z to figure the secret pf the voices, as she became more famous she reached the truth about the crystals and the souls trapped inside so she decided to gather all of them so she could find a way to take them home, there, she's not someone who became an idol overnight but she was already one but not that popular, she became aware of the souls later and decided to help them be together, this way she doesn't seem bratty
Riot: so the fanbase hates seraphines lore? we need to fix it Also riot: LeTs ChAnGe LeSs ThEn 1 PaRaGrApH but seriously this is still lazy riot could atleast to pretend to care about her runeterra lore
I mean, they also did it for Karma. One paragraph changing the end of her bio. But the thing is... Karma 's problem on her LORE and that was easy to fix. Seraphine on the other hand... the problem is her whole character design, not just her LORE. A fix like this won't change her core problems
@@bestnameever1850 that can open up a plot point where seraphine eventually discovers the truth about the crystals, making her realize the cruelty that revolves around her equipment and hextech and making her go insane or something idk if it is something riot would even consider given how seraphine is as a character (generically light-hearted and etc.) but hey, it would be cool
@@lagc5103 And maybe she can have a story where she uses her pop status to try and make this information know. but some other piltover family trys to stop her
Ah yes. Seraphine turning her emotions, feelings, doubts, fears, into single notes, that then turn to droplets, floods, rivers in fact, that take on laminar flow and wash over the crowd... Good job riot, you managed to stuff more bs into her story than you have into your Season 11 items.
I think if she and skarner met, both their stories would develop tremendously. It would definitely develop seraphine as a character, giving her more struggle and emotional development other than her struggle with her powers. I would love for skarner and Seraphine to turn into allies rather than how people are pitting them as enemies.
Well if she's an Empath like she's written, the reason why she would try to bring the places together would probably to end the negative emotions between them. Emapthic characters are sensitive to emotional turmoil and it can cause them pain if left unchecked. Maybe if they wrote that it was painful for her to the point of physically affecting her, would give her a reason to stop the conflict. As for the crystals, I think how they have her right now is the best spot for her to find out about the Skarner race. As it said her the story, she knew the voice had to be heard. This could play towards her finding out what the crystals really are and her trying to stop their use by trying to prove to people they are alive (via their soulsong) or something.

- Seraphine's kit is disappointing she's literally Sona with Neeko's Q, Zoe's W passive on her own W, and Skarner's E.
- Her "ultimate" skin.
I could continue picking on her but I'm pretty sure you get the idea.
you know what Seraphine could be a star guardian Sona. after rework that would be much better not this abomination lol.
I disagree on the kit, she is a really fun and good character to play. She fits really well with the rest of enchanter supports.
However I totally agree on the rest.
Sona with mixed abilities? so Its not sona?
Her kit is fine.
Problem is everything else, including the in game model. She moves way way way way way way way way way too much on her fucking hover board.
Her Kit and Ultimate Skin Part is Fine for me Anything else is eh
A kda fan too.
Decent is a bit of a stretch, they just made her not evil. Slight damage control alterations isn't enough to make her mediocre.
I personally think otherwise, I think a 13 year old could write this as part of a league fan fiction. They didn’t fix anything, if anything they made her more boring. At least before, she had the charm of being a villain, now she’s ignorant.
lol they just made her hearing ability less pronounced so she isn’t accountable for any lack of action on her part.
Also Sona has that graphic description of what her ult actually does to people. Everything about Sona is just more interesting than Seraphine.
Seraphine should adopt vayne's line
"I hear the innocents cry out.
My question: Why would the soul(s) in the crystal help her at all? It'd have to know she's not a part of the hive, right?
I dont think it was helping her directly, by the crystal singing it's song it indirectly helped her understand how to control her magic(?) hearing.
The crystal also seems go have some overarching plan itself though. Maybe to make itself heard above the city is to convince sera to unify it.
@@kitnal4143 Maybe so it can make it's voice louder so Skarner can find them.
I hope its not gonna be one of those "they see the potential of the character" and that they believe she'll help free them eventually.
Do the crystal even realize that they aren't helping one of their kind?
How to fix Seraphine:
Make her Targonian everything up there seems to be more about struggle, magic, and sparkles. Her appearance and her lore of being a popstar would be fitting. Being an Aspect of Music will give her a reason to exist just it is, before travelling to other lands like PnZ.

How can you ethically use the souls of other lmao

True.
To be fair she was hyped up by a multi milion dollar company who's "idols" got increasingly popular during the entirety of 2020
Saraphine should be an air head who doesn't understand hardship, that will make her seem condescending, but really it's just her naivety and innocence, though her conclusions for why hardship exists come across as someone who never worked a day in her life - and that would be right.
One little girl grasping her mom's skirt asked "Mommy, is that an angel?", this was Saraphine nearing the end of her song, so when Saraphine finally came to realizing her surroundings, was able to hear the mother's reply "That is a saraphine, dear, they are one of the most powerful angels."
And though Saraphine knew she was not really an angel, she decided to let that title be her name, especially if it brought people comfort.
*I realize this isn't something Riot will use for Saraphine's story, but since they seem to be lacking a story for her, I figured that I would just provide one.*
I realize my story for her will not be completely accurate for Runeterra, but I hope whoever reads this will find it enjoyable enough.

Exactly.
The two cities:litterally having a riot
Seraphine: hey I wrote you a fight song! Hope you like it :)
4:35 I'm sure we would all like here to be part of Jhins performance
I think you could see it as her wanting to hear more of the voice in the crystal and the voice only sings when the cities get somewhat close. So her wanting to hear the voice completely is the reason she wants to unite the citys
Doesn't matter that she doesn't know anymore, I'm still playing skarner and spam ganking seraphine

What I imagine: Skarner stings Seraphine and paralyzes her before dragging her into the bushes.

Here are a couple ideas off the top of my head for characters based on the soul shards’ features:
- Curiosity: The host has this sort of childish wonder for the world and constantly seeks to understand how it works, yet is incredibly knowledgeable and far from naive due to his love of learning.

"The story still doesn't tell us her journey to the top and how she became popular"
Riot: China. *raughs in chinese*
Theres one way to fix her lore, make her an indie idol that went from region to region singing channeling everyones voice, then when she came to zaun and piltover she heard the voices of the crystals which made her curious, she began collecting them and in doing so she began to hear a song that as she continued to gather more crystals it became stronger and clearer, so she stayed in P&Z to figure the secret pf the voices, as she became more famous she reached the truth about the crystals and the souls trapped inside so she decided to gather all of them so she could find a way to take them home, there, she's not someone who became an idol overnight but she was already one but not that popular, she became aware of the souls later and decided to help them be together, this way she doesn't seem bratty
bro if she were the targonian aspect of music that would've been sick
