There is a wheel in the car that you can turn to make the car rotate sideways as it is going around and around. Pretty fun ride and sometimes you are stuck upside down or sideways for a period of time while they are loading or unloading. Filmed with my Sony HDR-PJ380 video camera. Thanks for watching.

Chance made all the truly great classic scary rides, just the sounds this wheel makes and the hydraulic sounds of the Zipper are just unmatched… looking straight down just hanging in the sky when stopped, crazy. 🤣
Old Chance Sky Diver, your lucky to ride one, theres not very many left, they fold up on 2 trailers and takes about 6-7 hours to set up, really nice piece, they quit making them because just like the chance turbo, they where ahead of there time.

I rode on the Sky Diver @ Rocky Point Park every summer until the park closed in 1995. I loved the adrenaline rush of being absolutely terrified. Rocky Point also had the Sky Wheel, which was also terrifying. Man, i miss that park so much!
Flying through the loading area upside-down was my favorite part ☺
Mines too! This is my absolute favorite ride next to the zipper. I haven’t seen one in years. I have been wanting to ride one again so bad. I swear if I ever get the chance to buy one I will 😩😩❤️
May as well be considered new. These are soooo rare.
I had rode on that my favorite b4 that won't rode it happen was in 1976 later was in 1985 love it as crazy go forward n backward turn upside down roll as left or right. I had been for 86 times til stop n miss it since 2007. Love that Sky Diver!!!!
Love this ride. From Boston and they used to have it at the Puerto Rican festival. Was 9 when I first rode it.
Its one of my favorites next to the zipper and sky wheel. It’s ashame that they’re so rare now

Nothing new about them... They date back to the early 60s, and you used to see them at quite a few carnivals... There aren't many of them left, so they're a rarity now...

Great ride it's been forever since I've enjoyed this ride :)
1st time I rode this with my friend, I was 10 in '76, and we were being thrown all around the inside of the car. At 1 point, I was laying on the bottom of the car, as I slipped under the bar cuz we were too small. The wheel was too tight for us kids to operate, so it just flung us around out of control. I miss this ride!
Last time I rode sky diver was when Royal American Shows came to MN State Fair

I haven't seen one in 25 years. Where is the steering shell in the capsule. The upside down Ferris wheel that I remember had the steering wheel and two people had to keep the capsule from spinning out of control. My sister and I were 10 and 12 years old and we were not strong enough to handle the steering wheel we just kept speeding and spinning. We were scared. and we both threw up when we got off
This is actually a Chance Sky Diver. It can be retrofitted with the standard Ferris wheel seats also.

I am not sure why Chance stopped manufacturing this ride. It is popular and only 2 trailers.
Yeah it was a pretty fun ride and thanks again for the info on it! (back in 2015, this was the first time they had this ride at this annual fair that I usually go to. The gym I work at has a booth there each year and also puts on a little gymnastics/tumbling exhibition)

NJShoreBeachLife great video, and I see that you can ride single. well, they will not let you ride in Alabama(Huntsville) single rider.. and you had lot of flips.
hsvguy45 thanks! i did this video at the very beginning when the festival just opened on the first day and they were nice enough to let me film too (don't know what their policy is on riding single usually though)
Rode the one at Carolina Beach the first time last night and it’s definitely the craziest flat ride I’ve ever experienced I was on it myself. I expected it to be crazy but it was ridiculous I wish the gondolas were patted down because getting tossed around was quite uncomfortable. I did enjoy it but I have mixed feelings about it

It was a few years ago so I am not totally sure, but I think you do have some control over making it flip more
There is a 'steering wheel' to control spinning and flipping
U can steer it or just let it flip freely!

Yes! And feels like ur gonna crash at the ground

⚠️ WARNING ⚠️ FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO WISH TO RIDE
BE CAREFUL as I've also died on one due to the fact they operated it wrong making it go fowards not backwards so you weren't pressed against your seat my ride parenter was much bigger then me so or weight was off causing us to spin out of control and the bar not hit my thighs i almsoy sliped out to be clear the ride itself is safe when proper safety is used so make sure your ride parnter is simalar weigjt and size the bar hits your legs and iys been controled/built/set up properly
Backwards= back pressed against seat
Forwards= leaning towards the open window space and possibly falling out
I went on this when I was 4 with my older sister, it undid and I was crashing my head and everything and my sister had to hold onto me with 1 hand
how does the restraint system work? i mean this ride will completely stop in an upside down position while there was another passenger who want to ride it? does it hurt?
I rode this a couple of years ago so I kind of don't remember the restraint system exactly. I do think you have to hold on though or you could bump around where it might be possible to get a little banged up. Fun ride though
i hurts but your so scared you dont feel it much.
Nothing really holds u! Just a lap bar like the zipper and just a wheel to hold on to, to control the cage

It was on the wilder side but I didn't think it was too scary (it does bounce you around a lot)
