The CSX workers and of course the other companies workers are SO overworked and undervalued- nationwide- it's great to see a big thank you event for the kids that have to wonder why dad is away all the time. I'm in show biz too and it is very rare that I get a blank slate to set up the way I'd like our scenery to be 'experienced' by the audience/crowd. We do a lot of corporate events. Thanks for the backstage, behind the curtain, on top of the tent, under the machines peek!
This is the first time I have seen a "Scat" since the late 80's. There was a little road side pop up carnival that had one and a Cobra. The scat was beat down and rusty but It was the most fun I had ever had at that time. The guy got so tired of me riding the scat that he kept telling me I should really try out the Cobra because it was the same thing. Very nice stuff. there.
Nice Mini Show you got there . I Used to make videos for Show owners to show to clients back in the Late 80's and 90s. I met so many Nice people. Most of the Shows I made videos for are now long gone. The business has changed so much.
"Typhoon" is a better name for that ride 🤣 - Also I love how you take the time and effort ot think about how the midway should be laid out for good photos and interest. And that video screen on the hub of the ferris wheel is cool!
...I get a good feel to/for the essence of this carnival life. Not for everyone, it takes a skilled and passionate marketeer to live this career. Reminds me of the pre 1970's eras when smart people who knew there was financial opportunity in the carnival style, and also mentally prepared for the disappointing challenges that could turn up (leaking oil bearings), but still moved forward looking forward to the positive payoff show. Amass good rides that are durable, not too dangerous or risky, and youll have a great mix for everyone to check out ( not everyone wants to experience a Bungee drop). Wishing you guys well in Wisconsin....
Wat een leuke video's op jullie kermisattractie Dat wist ik helemaal niet telefoon van die mooie dingen Amerika rondleiden route naar Winsum Groningen of the Netherlands
as an employee of a class one RR like CSX unfortunately most empployees will likely be working sad part is a RR crew had to be put on duty for family day specifically
So, if you have one truck to bring all the rides in to spot them, how did they get to Indiana in the first place? Somehow I don't think the answer is "multiple trips", or at least I hope that's not the answer.
Cost of trucks, insurance, registration, and most importantly the ability to find good drivers that won’t damage equipment. Rides are not that easy to transport. You don’t get to balance the weight so sometimes you have tons of tongue weight and other times barely any. Not everyone is cut out for it
Getting licensed CDL A drivers to work for peanuts is one of the best reasons, I used to be a Carney back in my younger years, the pay is not worth the job that a driver is doing, much less running the ride, setting it up and taking it down and everything else that goes with the job, it's just not worth it to a CDL A driver who can easily get a over the road job and relatively new truck and make decent money
These days the lights are LEDs, so probably last at least a year, more like two or three. Used to be standard practice for operators to do a light check when setting up and replace any bad lamps then.
Saw one of these rides here in the UK about thirty years ago at a local fair, never seen one since, always wonder if it's still on the go, or maybe exported.
That was one of the first carnival rides i got on as a kid in the early 80s the ride operator let it go on and on for like 5 minutes i puked all over the people across from me and myself..
I've noticed a lot in your videos you say that you don't have a generator or you're renting is it better to rent the generator or is it better to own your own?
You can see in the walk around starting at 5:40, there are large yellow round parts under the gondolas. You can also see a rubber tire (which is turned by a motor you can’t see) up against the round part that spins the gondola.
Nice nice videos CSX you think they would rent far more rides for adults and kid's rides, pitiful? Heck, I know they can afforded to rent a whole amusement park for such a multi-million dollar company.
4 rides ain't nothing we set up the cliffhanger,YoYo, big Eli scrambler,big Eli wheel, 2 Hamptons-bikes n cars,Roundup,Pharaoh's fury,Bumper cars/scooters and a Wipeout in 8 hours with 9 guys
I can't wrap my head around the finances of this operation to move that many pieces of equipment + personnel 500 miles and it looks like they forgot to invite any families to show up.
The csx corporation paid for all this equipment as rental for a employee appreciation day the costs of moving n set up/ tear down was sublet work paid for by the company holding festival for employees colleges rent the equipment we have for pep rallies n homecoming
I have never been a fan of any ride that has so much overhang on the rear during transport. That leaves it vulnerable. The Cobra, Hustler, and a few others are the same. Even the sweeps/spokes on the Huss Enterprise extend beyond the rear of the center load. There is a brake light or tail light assembly that has to be attached to the spokes before transporting. Some Spokes had to be removed and racked on the center load for transportation. The rest folded to the rear and remained attached to the axle. Typically the person moving the ride would not pay attention and take off the wrong spokes which threw off the alignment of the spokes in the rear which made the light assembly crooked..
Support rail workers, support a wildcat strike, they deserve the completely reasonable request of paid sick leave. CSX made record profits this year but won't even give up
This is what Class I Railroads Waste💰on instead of using these Funds to give CSX Employees Sick Leave and Time Off that really makes a Difference in Life. 🤪👎
Railroads version of "Give them bread and circuses and they will never revolt". They got money for this stuff but can't afford to give the men paid sick leave?

Love seeing older rides like The Scat still out there on the road!
This is a small world situation for me because my friend Colton used to own that Scat. He had it for a year and then replaced it with a Round-Up
Scat is a classic!!!!
PS Knolbles just bought two Bayre Kurves and are using both to make the ride open again!!!!

Very nice looking show you run. That young man sitting things up is an old pro, master of the rig.
Nice Mini Show you got there . I Used to make videos for Show owners to show to clients back in the Late 80's and 90s. I met so many Nice people. Most of the Shows I made videos for are now long gone. The business has changed so much.
So good the music and all..

Beautiful rides and beautiful rig there driver

LOVE seeing you set up with trains rolling right by! Double whammy!
as an employee of a class one RR like CSX unfortunately most empployees will likely be working sad part is a RR crew had to be put on duty for family day specifically
I work in public safety. (Paramedic) unfortunately it’s just part of tbe job. Duty calls sometimes we have to miss out

Cool vid. Always fascinating. Thanks. Hope to see more.
the scat looks like the one we rebuild and named typoon. Did the typoon come from macs
Are you the owner of this fabulous carnival?
That SCAT ride needs its light toppers on the baskets and the disco ball centerpiece.
I remember riding the Scat as a 5 yr old in 1980. It Was Terrifying!
Always wondered with Amusement Ride Companies why the trailers always outnumber the amount of trucks to pull them lol..

that is a great looking Jenny
I am a professional registered engineer. I absolutely love the engineering and design that goes into making rides that fit on trucks.
It takes a lot of work to design something so it can be assembled/disassembled by brain damaged meth addicts.
here in the uk showmans rides have the generator on the back of the tractor units instead of hiring sets at the venue
Have you thought about putting spring brakes on the scat?
Hey, how did you start your own amusements company?
Hey my friend used to own that Typhoon! Chicketti Family Amusements....they had it for one season. He replaced it with a Round-Up
Curious, is the Typhoon a former ride of Chicketti Amusements out of Ohio?
Yes it is
He replaced it with a Round-Up earlier this year
How often do you guys go through and replace bulbs on the rides?
These days the lights are LEDs, so probably last at least a year, more like two or three. Used to be standard practice for operators to do a light check when setting up and replace any bad lamps then.

Ha hey man, this is awesome 😎
hello
I watch your videos and they are very interesting.
I wish I could upload more often.
greetings from Mexico
Do you only own this ride or do you own many rides there's some owner operators ive seen but idk
That was one of the first carnival rides i got on as a kid in the early 80s the ride operator let it go on and on for like 5 minutes i puked all over the people across from me and myself..
That's a nice Childress slide! Looks in amazing condition
You never see the scat any more! It was once called the tempest I think?
no the Tempests has 4 tubs its own by a differant compony called Watkins the same people that made the Swinger and Rampage and Hustler :)
I think Vanture makes Scat and Cobra
I've noticed a lot in your videos you say that you don't have a generator or you're renting is it better to rent the generator or is it better to own your own?
Are the gondolas on the Scat free spinning or are they powered?
You can see in the walk around starting at 5:40, there are large yellow round parts under the gondolas. You can also see a rubber tire (which is turned by a motor you can’t see) up against the round part that spins the gondola.

U the man
I can't wrap my head around the finances of this operation to move that many pieces of equipment + personnel 500 miles and it looks like they forgot to invite any families to show up.
hows project?
CSX has the money to spend, but I was thinking the same thing the entire time.
The csx corporation paid for all this equipment as rental for a employee appreciation day the costs of moving n set up/ tear down was sublet work paid for by the company holding festival for employees colleges rent the equipment we have for pep rallies n homecoming
I don’t know diesel prices are pretty high right now. That’s gotta be a downer.
these events usually dont invite those that actually work
The scat is the easiest ride to setup and the wheel seal. Doesn't rub its age that wears it out
a Eli Bridge ride is the Scat
Interesting how this Scat holds 8 riders per gondola. I've only ever seen 10 and 12 per gondola versions.
This is the Scat 2
What is a Scat, does it scar the Scat out of the riders
Kissel Entertainment has one first brought it to our fair in 1987 they still carry it every year.
Is this guy related to Jeff Ross?
You mean Jeffrey Lifschultz? Looks like him but I doubt he's a NJ Jew.
big round wheel carousel ride ferris wheel ride
Time to get a zipper 😊

OH AND BUY A PARATROOPER RIDE
Eli Bridge made the Scat
I would have told the cops to go and waste the taxpayers money somewhere else 😊😅
Cody
BUY A ZIPPER RIDE AND A STARSHIP 3000 AND A SCRAMBLER
I've heard the SCAT is a sh***tty ride
