Nice highly optioned scout! Thanks for sharing. It’s so cool to imagine it in its glory back in the day. I had a super similar experience with a rusty Colorado Scout II Rallye. The interior was pristine with the full Russett plaid seats. I then ended up finding a ridiculously rust free scout out of Arizona that had become a rodent home for a decade but I quickly discovered that the floors and body are in unheard of condition. I ended up restoring it and used the entire dash and tilt steering from the Rallye, including a flawlessly shiny with no cracks black dash pad. I’m just about to throw in the engine and tidy up the rest and get her on the road. These things are a blast.
Keep documenting the progress, would love to follow along!

That is awesome, what a find! I love those plaid seats. I’ll be posting everything I do to it as I go, so be on the lookout for more videos soon.

Talking to that think like when I had my late 79 f body cars haha.
I just like hipster old trucks these days. I would make a Pizza Planet truck

It’s coming pretty good. I’ll be posting a new video on it here in the next few days!

Love the video and love to see Scouts rescued and resurrected. I just went to Colorado to clean out my mother’s garage. I pulled out her 1977 Scout II that had been sitting in the garage for 26+ years and towed it to Arizona. I’ll be doing a full resto-mod and LS swap.
Have you done any more videos on your Scout? I checked your channel but didn’t see any more. Please let me know if I missed them.

Drove a 73 Scout from the rustbelt to DFW TX in 76. The OK highways were fresh blacktop, and many were pulled over with tire issues during 100 plus heatwave! I made a good cruise control from a sturdy stick, but still blistered a foot on the tunnel floorboard by the gas pedal! Stopped at a few rivers just to cool down, and let my Bad Ass Scout catch a breath. That 258 6banger was pretty gutsy, and would climb like no others with those Armstrong tires on white spoker wheels. All white paint looked great with them wheels, and I sold it easily to some Deer Hunters who gladly put down some cash. Oh, I wish I had a nice old Scout, even though I really dig my 2000 GMC too!
