Ukraine has done very well so far. But the longer this goes on, the more brutal Putin's actions will become. I expect in the next month he will just start levelling cities just like Grozny or Aleppo.

    • @gameocalypse6040

The longer Ukraine holds out, the more Putin's ego will take a hit and the more likely he'll be to over-escalate the conflict. Hopefully the world is ready to step up when that happens, because Ukraine shouldn't fighting.

SOFREP had video segments, SOF dudes from different components, SEALs, Rangers, MARSOC, they were all sitting in man caves decorated with camo netting and pictures n shit, drinking bud or something, swapping war stories about hell week or sere or some shit. Then came the SF segment, guys sitting in a 50s diner, started by making a toast to the fallen, then a long discussion about geopolitics and strategic thinking. That can tell everything you need to know.

    Retired Marine here.
You make sense, and I didn't hear any stupid stuff. I've been studying history and geopolitics for over fifty years now, and there's a lot of stupid stuff out there - sometimes I turn into one of those old men yelling at the TV when the dumbassery gets to be more than I can stand - but I haven't heard anything from you that sounded dumb, or wrong, to me.
I retired from the Marine Corps in 1996 - I'm 65 now, and according to the orthopedic types, my skeleton is more like a century old, so I'm not likely to be very useful in my old MOS duties (I was an 0341 mortarman, cross-trained on the M60 machine gun, and I carried a PRC-77 radio for my platoon. Along with being on a gun crew, I was an FO for a while.) I wish I could.
I'm with you on Ukraine. I'm pulling for them, and I don't understand any American or citizen of any other free society who isn't.
As for Red Dawn, personally, I thought it was kind of silly, but I agree on the need to think ahead about a variety of scenarios. BTW, a book you might like if you haven't read it is The Disaster Diaries,: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Apocalypse, by Sam Sheridan. Each chapter, he took a different end-of-civilization scenario and tried to figure out a skill set he'd need to take care of his family, then went and found subject matter experts to teach him the basics of those skills. Pretty funny sometimes, also practical.
So even though I'm pretty decrepit physically now, I can still teach. I was a marksmanship instructor for a while in the Marine Corps, then again as an instructor at the New Mexico Corrections Academy in my second career (my official job was mental health, doing the psych screenings on applicants and teaching some classes, but it was pretty slow a lot of the time, so I got the tactical guys to run me through their weapons instructor certification classes and started moonlighting on the range whenever I could. They told me I was the only person in the Department who was officially qualified both to shoot someone and then to ask them, "And how did that make you feel?")
Thanks for this video. Interesting how events have gone in the year and however much longer since you recorded it. It's actually looking like the Ukrainians might succeed in driving the Russians out of their country, if the rest of the free world keeps up our material support.

They can do it, the Russians did with Stalingrad in WWII. With the man-portable anti-tank weapons sent to the Ukrainians, it’s a real force multiplier. The 3:1 rule of combat states that in order for the attacker to win the battle, his forces should be at least three times the force of the defender. That means Russia would to have AT LEAST 600,000 soldiers in the fight. They don’t. They can’t “keep” these captured cities, especially when the real underground insurgency starts. - Russia has been slapped hard and licking its wounds from DAY 1 of this war. It’s crazy as hell.

When this kicked off my Spider Senses fired off big time. I looked in the mirror and seen a 56 year old, 100% disabled Vet. I hung my head and sat back down. This war is showing just how Ill prepared and poorly planned this invasion is. Russian can never win, the geurrilla war will eat them up over time.

in electrical school right now ex Canadian infantry reservist, on the fence about abandoning my resposibilties to do what's right. My family really doesn't want me to go but my hero's are our forefathers that fought in the great wars, I know the answer to what they would do and its weighing heavy on my mind. Do you think reg service members would make fun of me if i made up flyers for a kit drive to post around the base? the gear requirment for ukraine is the biggest obstacle, i had to hand all my gear in after service, i have nothing and i need about 5000$ cad worth of shit for a year long deployment there.

You should make a discord bro where people either have been in before, currently are in or plan on joining the military where everyone can talk about real world events like this ukraine thing with Russia etc etc and if anyone has questions about certain things pertaining to the military either you or whoever else is in there can help answer those folks is questions it’d be super cool plus gives you another way to interact and meet people aswell as have a section for pinned announcements where people always know when there’s stuff to come and or go and stuff

the price of Freedom is constant alertness and willingness to fight back.
many people joining territorial defense forces of Ukraine without any basic protective gear and body armor and as a patriots they're fighting for freedom even being shot.
is anyone here willing to help with SAPI plates level 4 to protect Ukrainian people's lives?

You have to double check this info but from what I'm getting the "Georgia Legion" is entirely made by ret US and EU SF, mostly 101 and 82 airbone and US Rangers. The most important thing you have to check, though, is if the US allows you to get into one of those ENG only speaking units in Ukraine. In Italy, just to make an example, actually it's a crime to do it and when you will return home you will be prosecuted, while in the UK they made a specific law to allow it. Just double check it. As for the rest you need to go, in person, to your nearest consulate because you have to pass an interview with their ukranian military attache.

@@brownsrevenge303 I’m pretty certain the Georgian legion is for the Georgian soldiers who fought Russian aggression in the early 2000s. I do believe they accept Americans and other foreigners but this Georgia is the country Georgia not the state.

There's a difference between US SF and EU SF. As it always happens US first thougth is to don't get involved, no matter what. We all saw that both in the WWI and in the WWII. Just ask to an ex Brit marine if he isn't already in Ukraine or on the way to get it there. You just have a different culture Buck. The Foreign Ukranian Legion and, as far as I know, the so called "georgia legion" is all made by eng speaking ret vets, 101, 82, army rangers and so on. It's just a matter of culture + being a SF dad

There is a reason why PsyWar exists. I encourage Ukrainian fighters develop communication by any means. I hope the U.N. supplies communication systems so we can assist from all sides.

Is there any way to have you go there or just across the border to train foreign volunteers since that is your creed. Maybe create some semblance of combined arms units, I realize it takes time, but create specialized battalion size unit
