  • Sean was raised in Phelan, California. After what can only be described as a rough childhood, Sean decided to leave home and start a new life away from the childhood trauma and away from everything that weighed him down. Sean joined the military at the age of 21 and was assigned to a support unit, started a family, and later achieved the title of Green Beret.
After leaving the service Sean joined the Denver Police Department earning a spot on the Citywide Impact Team. Sean left the department in order to pursue his passion to help others achieve their goals. Since then he started the FNG Academy, wrote his memoir, and created Wine and Rations.

Money topic awesome. Grew up poor. I own a business now. I stress about money way too frequently so my wife tells me. Probably a good idea to have a set number on where you'll quit stressing about money. 100,000 sounds good for now and 50,000 worth of play money before we actually start playing with it. Every time you take money out of play money it has to be put back in before you can play again. Good plan love you guys for this one!!!

The 1:04:00 mark. Buck suffers from the same issue I have. I also grew up dirt poor, and it’s only been over the past 3 years where I now make more money than 95% of the U.S. population, but I feel like it’s never enough and I have a negative physical reaction to spending it unless I have to on essential items.

First off, I just want to say thank you guys for making that first podcast, there was so much value in both of your words. Secondly, I just want to add that in no way did Buck sharing his struggles come off as him bashing his team or even make them appear incompetent. The military community as a whole has done so much for this country that we can never pay back, so thank you both for all you have done. If anything, having listened to your stories have only made you guys more relatable and make someone like me feel like "Hey, these are people just like me, so maybe I can do something great with myself too" so I just want to say thank you for being mentors for people like me.

Damaged or people who have faced a lot of adversity, had to have the strength to face this issues which in return can make a person wiser, more humble and mentally stronger. I think that's why people who have faced Adversity tend to become successful if they overcome or consistently work to overcome those issues.

Andy I don’t know if you know you’re doing it, but the way you “call out” buck when talking about his panic attacks. Saying things like “I don’t think they (panic attacks) happen for no reason” tells me a lot about who you are, a good friend a good person. It’s really rare to find people who help like that in a genuine way.

When you guys were talking about Ron White it hit me pretty good. I am 43 and drank every day for well over a decade, for half of that two fifths of whisky a day. Luckily my liver managed to hang on. Just want to say, sobriety is the best way to go, hands down, without question. Some folks can drink socially, like Mr. Stumpf, then there are people like me that can’t handle one.

I recently found a book (audible) called “I will teach you to be rich” by Remit Sethi- recommended by Tim Ferris, that helped me understand the concept Andy and Buck spoke of- it’s not about what you make, it’s what you spend. It’s helped me cut spending on shit I don’t like, and spend more on things that make my life “rich”. It’s a work in progress but I wish I read it (-audibly) 10 years ago. We are all a work in progress. Love you guys. No such thing as a life that’s better than yours

Hey Buck, I used to suffer from social anxiety. Correct me if I'm wrong, but for me I had to cut out stimulates temporarily in order to depress my nervous system (Caffeine) and develop the confidence to not be concerned with the opinions of others. Really how I worked my understanding internally was to discredit the populace by looking at mass thought and speculation. I had to come to terms that you can never convince others to understand where you're coming from, nor will you ever be able to fully convey that understanding. Therefore the only thing that matters is your confidence in your own frame and beliefs and the acknowledgement that you don't owe anyone an explanation for why you're doing / behaving in the ways you are. What it came down to was constant exposure to those things that made me anxious in order for me to acclimate. Love you guys, keep up the great content.
Reading history and literature really shined a light on the absurdity of human nature and the pit falls that we find ourselves stepping into. The detachment from the self and coming to terms with the fact that the world doesn't revolve around us and no one at the end of the day gives a fuck. Everyone is too busy involved in their own little bubbles.
Also looking to enlist into the 18x program and pick a ship out date this Tuesday. I've been researching like mad and owe you so much for all of your help good sir. Be easy boys.

I don’t think the original “issue” is even the issue for a lot of people anymore lol. It was the deflections, the lame justifications, the posturing and the best one, he helps a lot of people! What do you do! Defense (like what they did here) BRCC does a lot of good things, I don’t particularly like the whole bro vet persona but I don’t buy (or not buy) things because of persona, I buy them for causes they support. Same reason I donate to the organizations I donate to and etc.

Also your thoughts on people being negative in hopes of getting engagement from you are spot on...I run celebrity and public figure social media and that's exactly correct. The best advice I have is to only interact with the positive...block the negative and don't acknowledge it. People will get the message.

What I liked about this podcast was that it was about everybody's problems, marriage, money and not just about spec ops or hunting etc. I hope you will invite Paul Howe and Tom Satterly one day and speak about PTSD (I liked Tom Satterly's book "All Secure"). Cool podcast, keep it up.

53:00 OMG. 🤣🤣🤣 I watched the footage of the roll - out of the gates, Sean "Cracked Rib" Rogers jumps on the highly sedated or barely awaken version of Andy who looked like he went for a nap right there on the mat. Then Andy scratches his nose and does his regular sweep on Sean. No big deal. No ribs have been harmed in production of that video 😆. I rarely comment on YT, but couldn't hold back here. Andy spends way more time on mats than Sean and it shows. Plus there is the weight difference.😁

There is a female GB, she was an 18C. i was with her during the Q course. During the course, she was awesome in everything she did and routinely rucked more weight than the guys! i dont know her current status since the ND, but the story is true. there's also an 18A that was coming thru the pipeline (about a year ago now) but i dont know if she passed. **edit... because i'm typing while listening... No standards were lowered for that female 18C least not that i was aware of.

The thing I love about Sean, he’s real and relatable. Sure he’s a badass, sure he’s pushed himself further than most people ever will. But he’s also raw and authentic. He’s open about his insecurities, his faults and humble with his successes. A lot of type a guys talk about not having an ego, while simultaneously having a massive ego. (Not that it’s bad, it’s necessary ..to a point.. in certain environments) but you don’t often see this In a public setting.
