How to charge the battery in Casio Tough Solar?

- This casio battery was drained to very low, as the watch was in the dark cabinet and it could not be charged with sunlight. I charged it with more powerful sun panel (Tissot T-Touch Solar)

thanks for the tutorial, i tried to charge my watch now in direct sunlight, now its cloudy, but it says "Charge" in blinking pattern.
Why dont just buy new battery and replace it..its not too expensive
the battery in mine is dead for many months,after couple of minutes in direct sunlight,it still charge..so it means my battery is still good,right?
A fully discharged battery cannot be charged properly. to revive the battery, the current requires a little more than a standard charger. then, when the watch turns on, you can charge it directly in the watch itself in the sun

Man solar watches are kinda a pain ill stick to a normal watch
at minuites 4.24 to 4.30 was unable to see what you did with the tweezers and pin / pointer because your hands were in the way ? what did you press after the new battery was inserted?
You have to short circuit between the AC contact and + of the battery
To start the watch after battery change you have to short circuit between the AC contact and + of the battery👍

Disassembled (Tissot touch n solar) and used its solar panel. you can use another solar panel, you need to get no more than 3 volts..

I have a question for u, I have the same exact watch and my watch was completely dead. Battery sign came on as empty and the watch place is charging me $65 to get my watch going again. He said something about not having part in stock to get my watch going??? Would that part be the solar battery charger u just used???
In my video, the problem was that the watch was deprived of a light source for a long time, the battery was discharged .. your battery could have deteriorated. You can buy a battery on ebay.
CTLxxxx type of rechargeable batteries are a rare item and have a limited shelf life of may be a few months (to avoid damage and eventually destruction CTL type of batteries need to be checked for voltage being above 2.0V alternatively recharged every few/3 months). So probably your watch special kind of rechargeable battery was not on stock at that location.
In my view it is nonsense to charge the battery by an external charger, but this video shows what is happening inside the watch when the solar cell charging circuit is working and has sufficient light.
Im guessing you may not answer me as this was 7 months ago but i have a casio watch which is solar powered and needs a new battery, is it ok just to replace it with a new solar battery or is it more complicated than that?
You can buy a new battery on ebay and replace it, that's all!

if the battery is low, the backlight may not work. to charge the battery, the watch must be supplied with a light source and placed in the sun. or under a lamp. I hope I understood your question correctly, please contact me.

I have the gorillaz collab G shock aka GW-B5600. I Hadn't used it in months due to the pandemic rising. It blinks CHG with no sunlight charge. Should I replace the battery like your video??
try putting it in the sun first. If it doesn't charge, try charging it with a solar panel. If that doesn't work, then put in a new battery.
I recently changed ny battery but after some time it shows CHG
And it becomes completely off

You won't be able to charge it, but you can revive it so that you can later charge it in the watch itself in the sun. briefly 3 volts, 1 minute. check with a multimeter if the battery has received a charge, if not, connect for a couple of minutes. as soon as the battery is slightly charged, 2.5-2.9 volts, return it to the clock. keep charging your watch in the sun. if the battery is ok, the watch will start working again and charge in the sun

you need to know how many volts are supplied from the solar panel to the battery, I don't know. Never tried charging without a solar panel. it will help you. and the charging time should be determined by experiment.

i just received mine and it was dead.
I believe Panasonic CTLxxxx type of rechargeable batteries should never fall below a voltage of 2.0V. They are probably shipped ex factory with a charge of 30/50% to keep its voltage above 2.0V for many months. When the battery gets discharged during too long dark storage/without sufficient recharging below 2.0V the chemistry gets first slightly distorted (reduced life time/capacity). Then more strongly distorted the lower the voltage falls and eventually destroyed (may be when down to 1V), this means it keeps its charge for too low time to be used any more.
This battery showed 1.7V after longer time of no use/charging, this means it got slightly distorted, can be recovered but may have lost 1 or 2 years of its life time.
After he put battery back in, tech did something with a wire that was totally blocked from view. What did he perform???
