He had the timing 10 degrees off causing the knocking and misfiring, and the high-idle. He left the valve cover breather outlet and inlet plugged off so now oil pressure is building too high and he's getting blow-by causing all of the smoke. He'll toast this FULLY FORGED motor in no time. He's got a bit more to learn about engines.

Yes maybe the oil restrictor is a bit too big, but also you need a breather on the crankcase instead of that block off bung. Keep up the great vids Sam!
The blow off valve spring is too light causing the light whistle after opening. Do not misrepresent compressor surge as a good thing. Yes new turbos have anti surge housings that help but understand that boost pressure still needs to vent or recirculate once the throttle plate closes. I doubt that CX turbo will last too long but hey at least it’s running.
Sammit you should look into getting your buddy to ceramic coat the downpipe to reduce the heat, looks better than heat rap in my opinion🤷♂️ great work on the car! Can’t wait to see the power it makes in the end 👍🏻
Sam, get a 1mm restrictor for that turbo and you should be mint. Make sure there's no flat spots in the return hose also. When I do a turbo build I always use a 1mm restrictor in the feed line, and a -10 drain.
@sammit keep in mind a 5 speed breaks near the 300 hp mark, I've blown up 2nd gear so far on 1 5 speed at autocross where my car was making a little less than 200whp so you'll have to upgrade to a 6 speed and a 1.8 diff to be able to reliably put down that power, could go with a welded 1.8 diff if you dont want to spend the money for a torsen, keep in mind on a 1.6 chassis to do a 1.8 diff swap you have to swap to 1.8 axles and driveshaft

Odd I doubt that turbo is ball bearing and that's typically when you would run a 1mm restrictor. A journal bearing turbo needs flow so 1mm would be insufficient. See others comments about the valve cover being capped vs vented or routed to a catch can setup. Sounds like the likely culprit.

Pull the cap off the valve cover breather port. You have no pcv system and its causing the smoke.
Yep this could very well be it. No release of that pressure will force oil past the rings, start with simple stuff first!

I've had an integra sitting for about 3-4 months. Since sammit starting this build I've also started working on my car.
Im suprised jack didnt see that breather was capped off for the pcv. Put those small filters and the smoke should go away

When I accidently left my breathers blocked up it blew out the oil seals on my turbo
I guess his front main seal went because of the pressure, I'm guessing my turbo seals went first as it was the weakest point

What transmission are you using? Might want to look into a beefier unit cause the Miata transmissions are glass
