Mate you seriously nailed it on the head when you said your neigbours are jealous. I have some pretty sound neigbours on my road but one of the neighbours next door acts difficult for no reason at all, and it’s so apparent they are pissed off because your house will look more fancy than their scruffy render-pealing house lolll
I had a neurotic neighbour below my flat who constantly picked fights with me and previous occupants over 'noise', actually any sound she construed as being noise. Two owners before me, she hounded the guy so much that he sold his flat and moved to get away from her! She complained about the noise his grandchildren were making, as though he ought to have tied them to a chair. Then the next owner, the one before me, wanted to put down parquet flooring, so she had her lawyer threaten him not to do so because she presumed it would cause noise. She texted me at 1am one morning, having heard my footsteps cross my apartment floor! Then my extractor fan in my bathroom was apparently too loud for her. So I stopped all communication with her and totally ignored her. She even called the Police for a tiny issue of flooding in the basement (the water level was only about 2cm!). Finally she moved away, but she was an utter neurotic lunatic. A padded cell would have been the best housing solution for her. That's the problem when you have a flat, as your neighbours are so much more 'present' and you are usually sharing communal parts with them like the staircase, letterbox and main front door.
Hearing how a neighbour is classist is hilarious. Like “yeah 9-5 I cosplay as rich person, but blue-collar is my true form”. I have an office worker friend, who looks professional / feminine at work but wears t-shirt and jeans that she’s had since she was a 16yr old punk-rock lover. Throws off the work colleagues at social events. And the other way around. First time I saw her at work, I was like who the f are you ?! 😂
Love your video and thank you very much, very useful insights for us as we are about to do a loft conversion 👍👍👍 May I ask if the brickies needed access to the neighbour’s roof in order to raise the party wall? We have a difficult neighbour who believes the builder will have to access their roof in order to do so but my builder seems to think not. Also does it require structural calc / racking resistance before raising the wall? Many thanks 🙏
