Q: Where is your accent from?
A: I was born and raised to Toronto, Ontario, Canada but moved to Essex in England when I was 14 years old. Hence my mixed up accent.
Q: Do you work? What do you work as?
A: I worked in Marketing and PR but I now focus on my vlog full time.
Q: Who’s in your family?
A: I have been married to Matt for since 2009, he is the love of my life! We have three sons - Fraser (born 2010), Caleb (born 2013) and Jackson (born in 2016).
Q: What camera do you use to film?
A: I film my videos with the Canon G7X and a Canon EOS M50.
Q: What lighting do you use?
A: I use natural lighting 90% of the time and a softbox light during the winter / dark evenings.
Q: Where do you get music from?

I’m in the building trade myself . Nice one about the tea station. As awful as it sounds for some strange reason when a customer is nice and has tea and biscuits for us, the job gets done quicker and too a much higher standard 😁 these days tradesmen pick and choose where they work as there is an endless supply of work so it is always a good tip to get along with the builder. even though we may seem like a strange breed lol

Tea stations are the way forward for us lot😂👌 coffee on tap is a winner
My tip: Don’t be afraid to fire a vendor if they end up not being the right fit. I was managing a bathroom reno on my own and had to fire our plumbers bc of several issues. Had to put aside my desire to be a people pleaser and look out for my own benefit. It was a good decision even if I was a little nervous to do it.

Fully agree with this. Do not feel guilty for doing the right thing.
Currently undergoing a major renovation as well-basement and main living areas (kitchen, dining room, den, living room). Definitely overwhelming especially with two little ones running around, but I keep telling myself this is just temporary and it’ll be so worth it in the end.

We have been cooking on all our camping things, microwave, Crockpot you name it, what started off as a bathroom refit ended up with the whole house being redone! Completely re configured down stairs, wall have been removed and as you can imagine. all the best xxx

I’m really excited to see your house renovations! I just wanted to ask, what would you do for laundry if you’re doing a kitchen reno and your washing machine is in the kitchen (I don’t have a utility room - wish I did!)
Such good tips. We're 12 weeks into ours now and it's certainly been an eye opener. Haven't had a kitchen now for 6 weeks 🤦♀️ not ideal woth two small kiddies. Almost finished now though 🥳

Hi Emily..you could try and use a very wet curtain blocking the area which has the dust..it also helps with any strong smells due to the work going on...take care..God bless 🙂

Really great tips! Especially tackling one room at a time. We did a whole house reno and did it all at once with a 4 and 2 year old while pregnant. Would NOT recommend it! Not one space was livable.

Great tips. Wish we’d known all these things when our house was renovated 5 years ago. I’d just had a baby and a 2 year old. We were confined to one room for almost a year. The builders were awful, rude and made so many mistakes. We’re still trying to fix them all now and it’s costing a fortune. Wish we could move house but the location is too handy for school!

I love all of the 15 renovations tips that you shared with us. My ultimate favourite renovations that I really liked are make lists of things that you will need to renovating a home. The most important tips that is going to be helpful to you is think about how would you like a plan your home renovation and also take pictures of your home process so you can refer back to the home renovations journey pictures all the time. And I like the tip of only limit your cleaning time when renovating your family house too. A few renovations tips that I would suggest to you is plan each room in your home carefully and keeping thinking about until you are all happy with the home plan because you can’t change once you done the whole home renovation think about colours and design of your rooms and home as well I can’t wait to see the renovations journey too. Sounds posh but a box of sugar lumps is a lot less messy than a bag of loose sugar for the builders' tea station. I gave them all my ropey mugs and they didn't break one!

How do you budget for a renovations? We have a number of jobs we want to do to our house but trying to figure out where to start and know how to budget for it
Can you do a how to get started with an extension eg architect or just good builder??
I love renovating.. we’ve been in our home three years now and the only original bits in this house is the outer four walls, every floor has been ripped out, both staircases replaced! Me and my husband have done 75% of the work ourselves. We only have brought in Electricians and Plumbers when we need too... it’s been an amazing process and I’ve got over 2,000 photos of it. My husband is a carpenter by trade but he does most things. Sadly last Friday somebody broke into my husbands van and stole all his tools... all battery power tools gone.. 🥺 just heart breaking, we will finish our home one day 💛🌸 thank you for showing your tips, they are great and dust is my worst enemy!!! Thanks Emily! X
Looks just like our house at the moment! Floors up, stuff everywhere! Unfortunately we don't have a big garage so we have supplies and boxes all over the house, but it will be worth it.....one day! Good luck with the rest of your renovations. It is great fun seeing our homes transform. X

My top tip from my renovation would be focussing on your mental health, especially if you're planning on living on the building site full time.
We lived on ours and it really is hard after a while. Waking up, working, eating and sleeping on it 24/7
Be sure to try and take time out away from the job and focus on your diet🙏👌

' feed the builders' always ,My partner is a builder they definetly take note when refreshments are given.My tip for collecting dust is dampen old towels then roll them up and place them at the foot of closed doors dust will colle there first reallyhelped when we ripped the plaster off our entire landing X
