    Very nice review! I’m planning to get this. I’d like to get AMD for more efficiency but this unfortunately only comes with 16GB of ram! I edit videos as well so that won’t be enough for me.. looking towards the Pro 7i with Core Ultra 9 and RTX 4060. Also I’m very glad they improved the speakers so much over the last gen!

    I sold the 2021 or 2022 model to upgrade to one with dGPU. Very helpful overview to get a good feel. Identical to the previous models. Solid premium laptops clocking way higher than their price.

    Picked this up a month ago. Got the Yoga Pro 7 14AHP9 model, with the ryzen 7 8845HS and RTX 3050. I am loving this thing. Great battery , doesnt run hot unless im gaming(Cyberpunk, Elden ring or Genshin). The 90Hz with the 2.5k display looks amazing and ig 32gb ram would be better but I dont do any 3D work so i dont need much ram. Ports are great, the charger is a 140w that isnt that big imo but thats because im used to big gaming laptop charger. The speakers are good especially with Dolby Atmos turned on imo. Somehow that significantly decreases the distortion and these have front firing speakers asw which is always a plus point. The keyboard feels amazing. There is facial recognition but its not infrared its pretty fast but doesnt work under bright light or low light😒. You can open it with one hand for the MacBook fans. So far i havent had any issues with this laptop tbh.

But yea definitely shouldn't last 5 hours on normal usage. This lap has some of the best battery life ive seen from windows x86 laptops. Maybe you swapped for an intel CPU?

    Thank you so much bro for the video! I was hesitating between a bunch of laptops because I like studying and gaming but not getting a heavy gaming laptop. The Yoga Pro 7 with AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 Processor has seemingly just became available in Australia (at least to small business customers). It comes with 32 GB LPDDR5X-7500MHz (Soldered), 1 TB SSD M.2 2242 PCIe Gen4 TLC, and 14.5" 2.8K (2880 x 1800), OLED, Glare, Non-Touch, HDR 500, 100%DCI-P3, 400 nits, 120Hz, Glass, Low Blue Light. Not bad for 1,989 AUD. It only comes with the integrated graphics (which suits me - don't need the dedicated graphics and prefer the lower cost). It seems a lot like the XiaoXin Pro from AliExpress but with the latest Zen 5 processor. Nice that it's available locally without the warranty troubles of ordering from AliExpress. About 500 AUD more than the XiaoXin though.

    It would be good if you made a table showing the performance, in applications, benmarch and games of the computers you have tested, that would let us know the performance in comparison to other laptops.

    • @TechGuyBeau
      @TechGuyBeau  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The issue with this approach is it’s so variable. Drivers, game versions, windows versions, etc can mascot influence these charts
      So comparing a laptop today from one tested 6 months again may lead to erroneous data. Normally to follow the scientific method I would need to test them all under the exact same testing parameters
      I could compile a list but I would need to have a lot of * points saying how old the data is, etc. it’s something I might consider assuming the viewers realize the limitations of it .

    Recently snagged this on sale and talked the price down over the phone with a Lenovo sales rep even further to $890. Great little laptop for the price so far.
    Just one thing-- is the trackpad supposed to be cheap-feeling/sounding? It sounds like it's a common complaint with this laptop; it's a major disappointment because this laptop ticks all the boxes but I'd be self-conscious using this in a library for example because the 'clicks' on the trackpad are so loud (and plasticky sounding). Trying to decide if it's worth just dealing with or if I should return it.

      Yes, for most people it has a dGPU and a better iGPU. It is currently $200 less than the Snapdragon for the same spec. The Snapdragon has OLED compared to the AMD IPS, but for ultrabooks, IPS are preferable for many.

      Yoga is a lineup, not a 2-in-1.
      Same with the Ideapad
      If you need a convertible model look for “2-in-1” in the title. They also are explicit on their website
