Great, thank you. Starts 1.35, how it integrates with Premier and queue function. Start encoding 4.25. & drag and drop files directly in. 8.30 watch folders

thanks for making this video, extremely helpful! ive been editing video for years and had no idea how helpful media encoder could be. Ill never go back now.
@@SurfacedStudio Yes it got downloaded but while im trying to open it. its showing as potential virus warning for video Encoder and application error for Adobe Audition.
Do you have any idea how to get youtube to keep a good quality of your video after they re encode it? I'm using a GoPro hero 7 and after TH-cam gets a hold of my videos they are ruined quality wise. pixilated etc.
That depends on so many things it's hard to say. I export everything in H264 codec, usually around 30 Mbps and that holds up OK. Do note that the quality improves over time due to caching and the file being send across the world depending on number of views, etc
I actually have both of the softwares, but in my After Effects, there isn't a button for transferring the file to the encoder. I could drag the file to the encoder just fine though. Is that some kind of setting I'm not aware of?
+Surfaced Studio thats what I thought but week after week I read posts asking you to make a tutorial that you already spent 20 plus hours creating and uploading for free. Apparently "There is a video for that " and " We already did that sh$t" hasnt helped either channel so I can only conclude that the search option is much more complex than compositing/ filmaking. A search tutorial would demistify this sly search option and will open the door for many.
I do appreciate the feedback :) However, I don't think it's a problem with the complexity or me pointing people to it - most people simply don't use it and no amount of content I'd make on the issue is likely going to change that XD
Very infromative and it's nice to know about this. Just one question though, if I have one same Premiere project in which I export several videos, can the encoder do all the jobs if it is the same project???
Hey, Do you have a tip about MD CC2018-19 pls? into the media browser panel I have selected local driver D. apologies for my ignorance : If you start rendering your file in Media Encoder so you can still make edits in Premiere or After Effects, will you still need to render it again when you're done making your edits? Will it save time when you are trying to export your project?
You can keep working in AE and PP while you export, but your changes will not have an effect of the current export - it takes a snapshot when you push it to Media Encoder
Great video tutorial!! I never knew how to use Media Encoder until now. You got into it quickly, the instruction was clear, and you are very engaging. Nice job!
great video. new to adobe. bought the monthly cc. trying to learn as much as possible. wanting to do more videos on TH-cam etc. question, do you know if there is an adobe program to live stream to TH-cam live????
Thank you :) I'm on CC as well. Adobe does not offer any live streaming programs (not their market). Check out OBS (free and great) or even XSplit (fancier, but costs money)
man, fast reply. thanks for the heads up. looking for easy way to go live that looks really good without a ton of money and easy to hook up. just bought a Canon 80D can not believe it doesn't stream straight to a pc. now i have to buy an interface too.
I don't believe there's an easy way to 'stream' from a DSLR. Some models have clean HDMI output that you can capture, but you may have to screen record it off your computer to put it into something like an OBS stream
You may need to reach out to Adobe. Unfortunately I'm not sure which version introduced / included which presets - but you can also just create your own if you don't have them :)
Can you change the export path (Output File) for Multiple individual videos all at once? That would be so helpful, but I cant figure out how to do that.
Qustion..... Can you take 0ne 30 minute video and chop it up in to 3 10 minute clips in encore and then encode the separately?? so i will have for example 3 mp4 clips in my output folder?
Do you have any videos of how to make GIFs, right now I'm rendering them as quicktime, opening in photoshop and then saving them for web (to get a GIF). Is that a good way to do it? The reason I ask is because at 7:13 you said "set to H264 codec, which is what I use for anything I will upload to the web"
Great video, but I am still stuck with an issue. I have Adobe Creative Cloud (2017). I am using After Effects and Mocha. When I click on my clip to track motion using Mocha AE it does not find the image source. Perhaps I could use Media Encorder and change the preset. I'm really confused on this, so please try your best to explain why Mocha AE is not working for me. Thank you.
You could try converting the video format, but not sure that's the issue. Try clearing your media cache and the Mocha cache. If the issue persists you may have to contact Imagineer for technical support
You have the best tutorials I've ever seen. You are an excellent teacher. One question please, if I use TH-cam 1080p preset is there a way to have it encode for TH-cam but not post it? I screen record games for my TH-cam channel with bandicam. Bandicam files are massive so I use an app called Handbrake first to code and compress the video before I edit it Adobe Premiere. I would love to encode using Adobe instead of Handbrake.
Hello! One question. Can I use Adobe Media Encoder to lower the file size of any video. For example if I have 5 gigabytes .avi video can i encode it to mp4 and lower it's file size without losing much quality?
Any compression will always have to 'discard' information. But in general going from AVI to MP4 (even at highest quality) should still reduce the file size
do you, by any chance, know whether i can render in 34 fps (prefferably in any reasonable format)? (i know, who edits in 34 fps, right? well, i just did for reasons and now i can't export it like that :/)

Is it some proprietary codec from Adobe? Is there a possibility to use the open-source codec x264 in AME? Thanks!
No worries. Format and codec are two different things. The format determines your file type/extension whereas the codec determines how the data is compressed into that format. Not all codec are available for all file types
@@SurfacedStudio I don't completely agree with you. There are actually three things to distinguish: file format × coding format × codec. hello! i am facing a huge problem of quality loss while editing Videos shot on my One plus 3t , at my pc using premier pro. Please suggest the correct presets and settings to edit or covert video formats using encoder or premier pro so quality and crispness of the footage remains intact.
Unfortunately there isn't really a 'correct' preset, only something that will work for you - and that depends on the footage you have. I personally like to use H264 or H265 at fairly high bit rates, but they are lossy formats. In the end you will have to try different options to find something that keeps your quality and doesn't blow out your file size
hi, so i got some problem with my media encoder. i add my file into queue and click play button to start render. but it doesnt come out anything at the encoding area. does it means my media encoder broken? or if not, how do i fix it?
hi, i have a small problem i made a video in AE and the length of the video is 2hours when i export it the file size is over 600GB so is there anyway to reduce the file size...
I've made visual effects for a song that i made (4mins) but it takes almost 2hours to render... Is there a setting that i need to check so it can be faster?
im using audio spectrum, vid is 4mins, i use my msi ge72 6qc apache (i don't know if that's good for rendering stuff) using best settings atm but for render it takes like 1:30 to 2hours. Im now useing adobe encoder that helps so the file isnt 20gb+ anymore but more like 200mb
great tutorial, thnx. btw i have one question. when using ME for render an AE comp i feel that it render the video slower than AE. to sure about that i render the same comp by using the same format with same setting from both ME and AE and it seems that AE render is way much faster than ME. but i seem strange to me because ME is mainly for render than why it render slower than AE!! is this problem just happened with me or is it natural and happened for everyone? and if this problem is just happened to me than do you have any suggestion to solve this problem?
+An Exceptional Film Hm, can't say I noticed that. Might simply happen because you are running multiple programs and so the overall load on your CPU/memory is higher since you're technically running the export and AE in parallel
You can convert any media file as long as it's one of the standard formats supported. However, directly exporting from your program (e.g. Dynamic Link) will only work with other Adobe products
First, I love your tutorials. Why is Adobe Media Encoder 2019 and 2020 screwing up conversions of any type? i'v spent a total of about 5 hours converting one 16 minute file, taking notes on each visible hang up in both versions, and comparing the data. Ever glitch happens withing the same 30 second window. Doesn't matter if the conversion (working from a *mov file) is to MP4 (H264), any MP2; doesn't matter if 'match bitrate' is chosen or any other setting; It's just not working on this file. Any ideas? The file plays perfectly on PC, iPad, iPhone...
You could try clearing your cache, making sure your GC drivers are up to date - and if all that fails, you may have to contact Adobe to have them investigate the issue (or dig through the debug logs yourself if you're technically inclined)
a question regarding watch folders ... i have a AE file in the watched folder with miltiple precomps and i dont want to render all of them, just the final one or two ... Is there any solution to this? AME just picks all of them automaticly :(
Sometimes when render through Adobe media encoder it doesn't match. It renders out the lower thirds with the default font, audio levels are jumping and some effects don´t work properly. But when I export it directly in Premiere everything is ok, any solution on this?
oooooohhh oh my goodness ive been needing this program for so long cause i hated not being able to start on a new project while the video is rendering xD
Been using AME, but I didn't actually know about most of these features, thanks for the tutorial! Btw do you use a screen capture software or an external solution (Like an Elgato box, etc)?
why when I use media encoder I get media missing. It renders the red missing screen instead of my footage. My footage is def there and when I render it normaly its fine. Any idea chaps?
Nice Tutorial, I'm still in CS4 so I was wondering what version this is and if the ogg and wbem formats come natively with this encoder? There are some very compelling features, specially the automatic format folder feature. Thanks for sharing.
+Tree Nelson The exact versions of all software packages used are shown in the video. I don't know if all versions have all the formats so you'd have to check the Media Encoder options that come with CS4
+Surfaced Studio Oopsy I some how missed seeing the CC2015 version in the video. I was wondering if the ogg and or wbem formats had been included in that version(CC2015). I know for sure there not in CS4. I'm kind of thinking they are not sens you didn't mention it. Thanks so much for the answer though. Till later. : )

when i export it the file size is over 600GB
so is there anyway to reduce the file size...
Try a different codec like h264 or reduce the export quality / resolution
I've made visual effects for a song that i made (4mins) but it takes almost 2hours to render... Is there a setting that i need to check so it can be faster?
It depends on your effects, duration of the video, export settings and the power of your computer. Lowering the export quality usually makes it faster
im using audio spectrum, vid is 4mins, i use my msi ge72 6qc apache (i don't know if that's good for rendering stuff) using best settings atm but for render it takes like 1:30 to 2hours.
+Surfaced Studio ok, so i am not the only one who face and notice the fact :D
thnx for the answer.
well if i clicked take to media encoder after i was in after effects then where does the video go? i cant find the video anywhere on my pc
Wherever you specify the output file to be in Adobe Media Encoder
Thanks!! Once we get our new Avid we will be dumping Sorensen Squeeze for this.
:D
I gather it's possible to convert 4K footage to a Cinepak version for easier editing in Premiere. Any ideas how I would do this in the encoder?
It's the same process no matter what your source and your target formats are. Just import clip, apply / tweak preset and render it out
Thanks - I'm more asking 'how' - I can't find Cinepak in there, is it an add-on?
can this work with other editing software for example movie maker or camtasia
You can convert any media file as long as it's one of the standard formats supported. However, directly exporting from your program (e.g. Dynamic Link) will only work with other Adobe products
Thanks a lot for this very clear tutorial!
Glad you found it helpful!
Awesome! Can you make a video about how you edit your videos? ( effects, lower thirds, programs used, etc.)
Thanks for the support
Welcome!
a question regarding watch folders ... i have a AE file in the watched folder with miltiple precomps and i dont want to render all of them, just the final one or two ... Is there any solution to this?
AME just picks all of them automaticly :(
Hm, don't think you can go quite that fine grained with AME unfortunately - at least now that I'm aware of
i think i got it ... a comp that is in the root of the project in AE will get renderd, and any other comps that are in a folder will not.
Nice one :) Didn't know that but glad to hear you found a solution!
Sometimes when render through Adobe media encoder it doesn't match. It renders out the lower thirds with the default font, audio levels are jumping and some effects don´t work properly. But when I export it directly in Premiere everything is ok, any solution on this?
Sorry, can't say I've come across this before, might be a technical or driver issue. Might be worth asking on the Adobe forums
@@SurfacedStudio alright thx anyway
Hey Surfaced Studio !! Im in love with all your tutorials :) im mainly here to learn how to make cool animated text and animated images :)
Hey, thank you :) Glad to hear you're enjoying my tutorials!
What program do you use for recording the screen from Your PC?
I use Movavi Screen capture :)
oooooohhh oh my goodness ive been needing this program for so long cause i hated not being able to start on a new project while the video is rendering xD
:D You'll enjoy it!
best tutorial ever, thanks
:D
nice video, you have earned my subscription!
Thank you very much for the support :D
Been using AME, but I didn't actually know about most of these features, thanks for the tutorial!
Btw do you use a screen capture software or an external solution (Like an Elgato box, etc)?
+Taha C No worries, glad it helped. I'm using simple screen capture software
why when I use media encoder I get media missing. It renders the red missing screen instead of my footage. My footage is def there and when I render it normaly its fine. Any idea chaps?
Hm, can't say that ever happened to me. You may have to try the Adobe forum
+Surfaced Studio
Oopsy I some how missed seeing the CC2015 version in the video. I was wondering if the ogg and or wbem formats had been included in that version(CC2015). I know for sure there not in CS4. I'm kind of thinking they are not sens you didn't mention it. Thanks so much for the answer though. Till later. : )
Thanks dude. Great vid that helped massively!
You are welcome!

.txt sir plz tell me how to ENABLED CUDA IN MEDIA ADOBE ENCODER CC
2017 & ADOBE PREMIERE CC 2017
You've made my life easier
Glad to hear!
Please is there a way I can attach an image to my mp3 audio file in adobe media encoder ?
? Do you mean like a CD cover for a song? That's more a concern for an audio program (like WinAmp) rather than media encoder I believe. Check this out: itstillworks.com/12589303/how-to-add-cover-art-to-mp3-metadata
Surfaced Studio thank you so much
I'm so grateful
thanks man
keep going
+Sk8 Haah Thank you :D
